"Yes," Rusty replied. "He would want it that way. He'd always intended to tell her himself, but unfortunately, he cannot anymore,"

For as long as astromechs and their protocol counterparts have existed, it has been debated whether or not such could achieve true sentience, and the emotions that go with it.

Still, it has been said that Rusty, as well as the legendary Luke Skywalker's astromech and protocol droid give a mighty strong argument in favor of such a notion.

"Veron has stated that he trusts our judgement in this matter," Rusty said as pensively as any droid could get. "And I have the feeling that this is the time."

Given factors such as Gorwooken's life debt, as well as his own reliability in virtually any situation, Rusty reasoned that either of them would be suitable for the news that they would soon deliver. Had he the means to do so, he'd have given a grim smile, pleased that at least Veron trusted him with the huge responsibility that now lay on his metallic "shoulders", as well as those of the large hairy ones of Gorwooken. And, he suspected that the wookie too understood the gravity of the situation.

"Veron has entrusted us both. With that said, we'll both tell her," he said. "It will mean a lot coming from both of us,"

Gorwooken said, turning away from the corvette and leading the way back towards Freya's apartment. When they reached the apartment, he knocked on the door, saying Poking his head into the doorway, he saw Aurora and said

"I'll be back," Freya said to Aurora, patting her on the shoulder.

She then stepped outside in the hallway with the droid and the wookie. "So, like, what's on your mind?" she queried.

Rusty's fish-eye lens turned from the girl to the wookie, and back again. "There is something that Veron had always wanted you to know." the droid began. He then turned on a hologram, one of Veron bouncing a small girl on his knee, beaming with happiness. Beside the image of Veron was that of a kindly appearing woman in Jedi robes.

"Like, is that me as a kid?" Freya asked, looking on at the holo in wonder.

"Yes," Rusty confirmed. "However, I shan't beat around the bush," the droid said.

"Like, what do you mean?" Freya asked.

"There is something that Veron wished to tell you," Rusty said. "Something he'd wished you to know at some point, as he felt that you deserved the truth. Unfortunately, he is no longer with us, and it now falls to myself and Gorwooken to inform you,"

"What? What is it?!" Freya demanded.

"I will tell you," Rusty said. "And with Veron, as there is a message he left for me to play you,"

With that, a hologram came to life, featuring Veron. "My dearest Freya," said the voice of Veron. "I would like to start this out by saying that I love you, and always will. With that, I have always hoped that I could be a man that you would be proud to call 'father'."

"However, that is only partially true. For, you see, I am your uncle." said the image. "I'll never forget the night you arrived on my doorstep, in a basket of blankets, and a hologram of my sister, your birth mother." The holographic Veron paused for effect. "My sister was, you could say, the black sheep of the Starsinger family. With that in mind, no one knows who your true father is," sadness apparent on the image of Veron.

"Veron is my true father!" Freya cried out, fresh tears streaming down her face. "This is a sick joke!"

"No," Rusty said calmly, shutting down the holo. "You, of all people, should know that I do not joke. Particularly not on something of this nature,"

Two of the six armed men moved in on where Iust was sitting, raising there blasters they take aim at the back of his head, hoping to make this quick. In a blast of speed Iust dives towards the desk and pulls both of his blasters from their holsters. Iust braces his feet on the top of the desk, right in from of the suitcase of money, and leaps backwards, flipping around he places the barrels of his blasters on the two thugs heads, and pulls the triggers, sending to blasts of energy through their craniums. Landing Iust crosses his arms and sends two more shots at the thugs on his left and right. There final two men take aim at him and fire. The bolts hit the ground as Iust dives to the right. Regaining his composure he spins his torso around and shoots the remaining two solidly in their chests. In only a matter of seconds, all of Graka's thugs have been killed.

"No for you Cras," Iust says as he comes towards, Cras who has gone into a state of shock.

"Please, don't kill me! Iust, Graka set me up to this I wouldn't harm you intentionally, I swear. Take the money, just spare my life." an unarmed Cras pleads.

"On your knees, friend," Iust demands. Cras is whimpering now, but he does as he commands.

Placing his blaster to Cras' head Iust recites "I am the harbinger of death to the wicked, the cries of the innocent reach my ears and they cry for justice, you who have committed grave crimes against humanity shall now feel the wrath of the righteous, I am the angel of death."

"Iust, pl-" Iust pulls the trigger.

"Thus die all traitors. Now to find Iria." Iust takes the brief case off of the desk and leaves the building.

As Freya sobbed, sinking into Gorwooken's embrace, Rusty continued. "Veron loved you as his daughter, and took it upon himself that very night we found you at his doorstep."

Freya could not argue with that. "Then, who is my mother?" she asked. To her mind, the only true mother she knew was cremated over a decade before, with full Jedi honors.

"Kreimhildt," Rusty said evenly.

"Her?!" Freya yelped. In her whole life, the number of times she could count seeing the woman in question could be done so on one hand, with a digit or two to spare. The black sheep of the Starsinger family, she was considered a blight on the family name. Older members of the family would say that Jarek, Zendia and Veron the First rolled in their graves at her unsavory actions.

(( Apologies Johnny. ^^;; Kinda carried away with Freya's side plot. ^_^;; ))

"Very well, then," Iria said, as Iust tended to his business.
Long said to be a fairly lawless world, she knew that she'd have to be extra careful here, patting her lightsaber's hilt.

Iria then arrived in a business district, minding her own business for the most part, but keeping wary of any shady characters.

A trandoshan wielding a wicked heavy sword blocked her progress. "It's the end for you, Imperial," hissed the huge creature. "Graka will pay me considerably for your head,"

She'd heard that name mentioned before, the crime lord that Iust spoke of. With that, the lightsaber came to life.

"DIE, IMPERIAL!" roared the trandoshan, swinging the heavy blade.

However, Iria was fast. Easily sidestepping the awkward seeming blade, she did so, calling on the power of the mystical thing known as the Force. She didn't presume to know the nature of it's true, awesome power. Still, it was indeed a handy thing.

Unaccustomed to combat, she preferred negotiation. However, it did not seem the trandoshan was in the mood for much. And, if he was working for Graka, it was most likely that it wasn't even an option.

Immediately, Iria assessed the nature of the trandoshan's combat style. Wielding such a heavy blade, it seemed as though he was limited to slow moving arcs. And it left glaring holes in his defenses.

The blue-violet blade found it's first mark, severing one of the lizard's arms at the shoulder. He'll only be using one hand now, and will have to compensate for it, she mentally reasoned.

And then, as the trandoshan reared for another brutal slash, her blade slashed across his chest.

"It appears this contest goes to speed, my friend," Iria said, noting the wound on the trandoshan's chest, stating such in a calm tone devoid of malice.

Still, the creature had some fight left in him, and charged her.

Iria then assumed a defensive posture, choosing to move with her opponent. As the creature plowed into her with attacks, deflected only by her speed. She had some skill with the saber, though she wasn't certain it would be enough to fend off a prolonged assault.

And then, as an unsucessful downward arcing slash came, she had an opening. Closing her eyes, her blade swung in an arc level with the creature's neck. Using a two-handed grip, she sliced through, and the creature's head fell to the ground.

Iria panted as she closed down her sword. At that moment, she pondered going to Iust's hangar to await him. And then, decided against it. No. If they're monitoring us, then they may be waiting there,

No sooner than she moved a block, she had another encounter. This time, a Rodian wielding a blaster.

"Going somewhere, Imperial?" the creature demanded in a Rodian accented, sarcastic tone.

Iria sighed, igniting her saber. She shook her head, the horrific memory of the lifeless, headless trandoshan still in her mind. I never slew anyone by my hand, she told herself. But then, it was self-defense.

She held her saber in a defensive position. I once heard of paladins being able to block bolts from blasters with a lightsaber, she recalled. However, I shall have to use other means, as I do not feel I have that level of skill at this time,

" I have something to show you. " the Mandalorian said. Motioning for her to follow, Angel went with him into the distance to a landing area of a much larger size. Her gaze fell upon a large collection of thug-ish looking people. Scoundrels, freelancers, pirates, who could tell? They all did have one thing in common however. They were all good people, fiercely loyal to their leader. Behind them, a battle cruiser rested. Angel took a moment to soak in the sight. " What do you think? I've led these people on a few raids of pirates. You could call us a pirate band, but we only raid other pirates. Though, we also target anything deemed " bad " such as slavers, or gangs, whatever's out there hurting the good people. " " So this is what you've been up to in these past few years, huh? " " Just like I told you. I may have been outcasted by my own people, but dammit, I'm still a proud Mandalorian soldier. I can still do my part for the galaxy. But, we need some extra help to keep things going steady, help the crew feel secure in good hands and the like. I'm not meant to be a leader. If I was, I'd be Mandalore. You though, I know you have that gift. I've known you for years and I've seen that quality in you. The Jedi see your prowess in the Force, but I can see much more. I'm not asking you to leave them behind. I'm offering you the chance to go beyond mere lightsabers and Force. " " I see. " Angel looked at the collected thugs, all standing together in a somewhat military fashion. " So what's the name of the ship? " " That's up to you, if you decide to be the captain. " Angel looked at the vessel, a smirk appearing on her face.

(( There's a plot thing behind Angel's decision. Her Mandalorian pal told her something that he found out, but I left that out because it's a suprise. ))

(( LOL, elvis! But then again, I almost called Zendia Freya in EmSquad xd ))

"Just ... shocked, I suppose," Freya said.

"Understandable," Rusty replied.

At that moment, Kalnar and Gunther showed up, hearing a ruckus.

"Is everything all right?" asked the Mon Cal Jedi Master.

After a while of searching, Detre came across on accident a rather.... unkept bar. Apparantly the cantina was host to the local smuggler's sect, and a branch of the regional bounty hunter's guild. The police didn't bother taming the fairly uncooperating place; there were far too many heavilly and secretly armed warriors, and there wasn't enough firepower to take it down, short of a bombing.

No, actually, Detre and the two humans had come looking for a place to just get some refreshment and assess their situation, when one of the local con-artists came up to the Noghri.

"Why, hello my fellow.... sentient. Can I demand a few moments of your time?" The speaker was a human, mid-forties, and wearing what could be clearly seen as spacer garb. You could stick his short brown hair and rugged looks on virtually any planet, and he wouldn't look out of place.

Detre regarded him cooly, before nodding. "If you wissh..."

He smiled, showing off a gold tooth and a smile you couldn't trust as much as you could put it on a bantha. "Yes. I was wondering around, drinking my fair share of course.... when I noticed you. You're not from around here, are you?"

Why lie, the noghri thought? Wasn't like the planet was quarantined or that there were no new-comers. "Why, yess, actually. Any particular reasson?"

"Oh, yes indeed. I was just noticing... well, you obviously look like a spacer, and a good one at that. I like you. So I decided to myself: This guy looks like a spacer. He needs the same edge I got."

Detre raised a hairless eyebrow. "And that edge is?" He'd never heard the word edge used in this manor before, but from what he could gather, it was refering to some kind of advantage.

"Well, you see. Oh, thanks." The bartender had delivered two fresh glass of the local drink, which the rouge quickly downed. "Ya, well, you see, I have these... technical innovations the local garrison didn't confiscate if you catch my drift."

"Ah, pleasse go on." He took a sip of the drink, but found it absolutely repulsive. In his opinion, it tasted like hyperdrive fluid. No wonder this loser seemed so... ignorant.

"Well, there waz dis local weapons inquisition. Whole damn economy fell through, and the damn White Army's took everything available on the market. Now, luckily for myself, I hads me a spare warehouse."

Detre chuckled to himself. The man was getting more drunk by the minute, now on his third glass with the assasin. "It amuses me how the Imperial Network didn't manage to locate an entire warehouse of illegal upgrades. I can understand a footlocker's worth hidden in your quarters, but a whole building?"

"Now wholds on, I'ma not lying. I have a whole lot of them new LT transverters and a whole shipment of the latest duranium alloy."

Puzzled, the noghri inquired. "LT transverters?"

"Yah, them's these special machines that do something to the shields. Supposed to be some kinda Eampee thingamagic."

And thus the discussion dragged on for hours more...

The rodian fired, as Iria used her saber as a shield. Let's see if this works, she thought, the bolt bouncing off her blade, and reflected back to the thug, grazing his shoulder.

"You got lucky, knight," said the rodian. "But now, you die," he said, firing again.

Iria slashed, aiming to disable the rodian's weapon. While not sucessful, the thug's shot was spoiled as the thug pulled up his weapon. And, with that, she focused on tracking the rodian's gun, making sure her blade did not leave the weapon's proximity. Can't let him get off another shot, she thought.

And then, it happened. A satisfying hiss meant that the blade breached the blaster, the thug dropping his now useless weapon.

Iria then placed her blade at the thug's neck. "Now, leave," she said coldly. As the thug looked at her with a dumbfounded expression, Iria said, "Don't make me repeat it,"

As it turned out, Iria didn't need to repeat herself, as the rodian thug ran as though his pants were lit afire. Still, she did not deactivate her lightsaber. No telling where or when I'll run afoul of Graka's goons, she reasoned. Whatever else happened, she needed to find Iust.
