The Fierce Deity

PostPosted: Fri Jun 02, 2006 12:04 pm

@Jelloman: Right...s'same as when a normal person runs too long/does too much/etc., and needs a glass of water and a nap. Same goes for Deity....if he fights too much, or if the match itself is particularly stressful (for instance, having his stamina/energy drained, fighting many opponents over an hour, things like that) he'd eventually pass out from lack of energy, both metaphorically and literally. The reason he's so tired is because he is below his norm...and if that power is somehow made substantially smaller, it exhausts them severely.

....Fierce, on the other hand, doesn't experience this. His only humanlike attribute is that he simply has a humanoid form... xP ...he regenerates power and physical wounds naturally, and is pretty much unable to run out of energy because of it. Tacity (think he was the Crimson Mist) drained his energy for our entire bout, and nothing ever occured...he was fighting Fierce Deity (stronger than Fierce, but less violent), but the same principle applies to Fierce.

....and what Deity meant by energies not being similar was their origin and behavior, as you pointed out. Like...some energies are all around the atmosphere at all times, while ki resides strictly in living organisms/animated creatures. Therein lies a small difference in how they can be used.

A question for Sean, whenever he gets back on.
I remember that. Of course, you asked me IC, and I gave you an IC answer. rofl Mainly, its for enjoyment, but I'll admit, it would be fun to get a little better along the way. 3nodding

*Necromances the place up.*

:shrug: I still stand by what I've said, however, about my views on how supernatural abilities act as sort of a separate 'buff' on top of purely physical. Though what you said is also true, to rob the body of all ki would more or less be like sucking the life straight from it, or removing the magic that animates a golem: all that would be left is a shell.

However, to say that a character is X strong as a natural physical state of being, or 'norm', you'd also have to include that the strength of body includes an equal amount of endurance... someone who can lift a mountain would be more or less immune to physical harm of any sort. They could stand between two speeding trucks on a freeway and yawn, the random Kenshins that walk the streets of Barton would have their sharp little knives bounce off of your skin, and so on.

And, of course, there is the fact that in no real way would something like that ever naturally occur to a soft-bodied fleshman... even in a fantasy world. xp

@Jelloman: ...very true, very true. That's why Deity perfers playing his normal character in an honest battle. He does have weaknesses, and can run out of energy if he abuses it too much....no, everday weapons still don't do much, but if wielded by the proper people, they certainly can. When playing Fierce, he'd rather play against a swarm of PCs, as no one character has ever put up much of a struggle....and it'd help out Deity's skills a bit to figure a way to effectively fight off four to six or more people at once. xP

@Nilly: Hehee...Thok is half-ork, too... xD

@Ryugi: =O ::agrees::

I played DnD only once. xp

We made molotov cocktails and defeated a level 7 encounter at level 1. sweatdrop

And we also killed a juvenile black dragon after getting it to help us wreak havok on these unsuspecting enemies in this tower. We got the enemies to weaken it and then we attacked. Got us quite far into the tower with no health impediments. xd

Half orks for the win. Depsite the natural -2 to Int he still had one of the highest Int scores in the entire group.

Fire is always good to have, Udo destroyed a house by setting it on fire.

xDD My favorite DnD scenerio was the taking of Bright Stone with a bunch of Human Barbarians and some elves and such.

It took like six hours to kill one hundred orcs, two trolls, and a winter wolf at like level 10.

I like playing Tiefling Clerics of death.

On the topic of rallying the troops into battle: "-and remember, don't be afraid of what might happen to you out there, be afraid of what will happen to you if you come back as failures! scream "
