LegolasGreenleaf Miyoko Clarinetti emm6408 emm6408 Flaming_Ninja_Dragon whats the highest note u can play on the clarinet? i was wondering cuz no one in my school can play up as high as me. my highest note is ultra-high *checks clarinet note chart* G-flat. it is the highest flat on the clarinet (unless my fingering chart is wrong). i was practicing that note and the note before it and my band director said, "Can u stop making those obnoxious noises?" so i had to stop. even i gotta admit it sounds like half a squeak and half a note. but then again, he doesnt have "clarinet ears". (most clarinet players arent affected by super-high notes) Funny that you should say that. I think I own high notes. I refuse to play them until the tone quality is to my liking, and I hate it when the girls in my section blast them and think it sounds good. Oh, and I don't think it matters how high you go, but how well you play the notes you do know. yea i think that too--My high notes seem out of tune sometimes I gotta play long tones soon and try to adjust...:/ *is going to do a little bragging so tolerate b/c i don't brag much...honsetly* I don't think that my high notes are actually that bad. Then again, that's coming from how I hear it. I can go to the high G...the really high one, but I think it's from my flute playing where I can go to the really high C (I think that's about 6 lines above the staff and the G about 4...right...?) High notes are fun! we all brag--in music its like a must, you can't tell people your problems without telling them what you can do sometimes, and yes they are fun!!!! smile I love to annoy people with it--once my friend (who doesn't talk to me much now!!! :hits him: ) and I were playing A (we thought it was C because the fingering chart didn't have the note name) and it was when everyone was talking the music theory test during summer school--it was so funny smile . I might borrow a tuner from my school and see if I'm out of tune or not -miyoko

Hello!
Up until this year, I've been the only guy clarinetist in my band. That's SIX YEARS! I've been playing clarinet since fifth grade, I have also played alto sax in jazz band, but I currently play tenor sax in jazz band. I play clarinet in marching band, and it's my FAVORITE!!!

2 days ago my band director mr. martin (he has a fake finger on his right ring finger and everyone in the band and everyone at our school and everyone at our rival school knows but he doesnt know that we know.) said 'sarah (thats my first name) i need to talk to you for a minute in the hall. (i was like omg i hope he doesnt yell at me for squeaking during the recordings of lets get it started and god bless america but he didnt) he asked me to join orchestra and he said i was one of the better clarinet players (more like the best) so i signed up and i hope i dont have to audition cuz i tend to squeak when im playing by myself infront of people. im probably gonna be first clarinet and chair (as always). i just hope i dont get swamped with homework on those days. (why did i have to get stuck in honors?!)

did you know? you can also play high D (the one above the C you play with your thumb and register key) with just the register key. it sounds good and its way easier but it sounds slightly flat but you cant notice it

they make fun of the 7th graders at our school where 7th graders are the n00bs and only come to 7th period band on wednesdays. (its okay, i was a little 7th grader too last year...)(and i was as good as the 9th graders too! but becuz of the normal junior high biasment they looked down on me and never took the time to find out how good i was...) i wont be like that to the 7th graders. they deserve to be respected too! (somehow they get smaller and smaller each year...)

Awwee you gotta show them that your better then them xD! yes, they do get smaller each year smile surprisingly, last year, when i was in sixth grade we beat a high school band. And now in seventh grade it's normal seeing my band get straight superiors and going to regionals...o_O our conductor makes sure we set a high standard and our band is just wowie... my conductor has sadly given me too much pride in our band o_< what music are you playing btw? what level is it? blaugh
