I'd say you were better at this than me, but that's something my ego would not allow me to do.
I have an idea, but a question before I guess: "I join with somebody else, and you can't recruit me without recruiting my partner."
Do you mean that they join at the exact same time, or that you need X to get Y and X and Y are partners?

The person in question joins automatically when you recruit someone else.
I'll give a freebie clue right now, too. Chikuu had the right idea with her first guess. You guys are thinking of the definition of "joining the army" too narrowly.
That's actually a big clue. I might have just given it away.
