Oh, I don't mind the server errors... (sushi, cheese, braiiiins, etc, etc, etc.)

It's just the whole lag. 2-3 minutes of lag time in which the window freezes up so that everything seemingly attempts to load up at the same exact time. neutral

I'm not sure what changed to cause this lag...

It used to be in which the page would load itself immediately... then load images or anything else similar to that one at a time.

I liked it like that.. As I didn't really care much for the images as much as I want to be able to navigate gaia... be able to read what I need to and jump somewhere else easily.
*Sigh* *Kicks Gaia*

Anyhow, I'm good. I'ma attempt to attend Fanime '06 over in San Jose.

I just need $22 more to pre-register.. then I'll need to save up traveling money.

Lollercoaster had been banned. I'm VERY much against it. Seriously, didn't we have some kind of agreement NOT to ban any more poeple ???

Sorry but I'm really DAMN angry about that. evil

When I was running the guild I had stated that I was personally against banning. I still am ethically opposed to it but it ain't my party no more.

That being said I really wanted to ban him myself for his pettiness both recently and in the past. The only reason I didn't is because like I said I'm against it. I didn't so much mind his stupid little sarcastic stabs when they were directed at me because I'm pretty unphased by such things. That and I knew my point was valid (although a matter of opinion) even if he wanted to point out and attack my spelling and age instead of staying on topic.

I've watched him needlessly rip on a number of people and after Blue rightfully pointed out that you and he were having a casual conversation in the b***h/Soap Box/Drama thread that you should've taken to a more casual thread and he responded aggressively/mockingly to her very polite request I'm really not surprised he got banned.

I'm never going to ban anyone but I support the decision of whoever did it.

And I've still got Loller attacking (not debating mind you, just attacking) me and my statements in PM now. You think he'd find a hobby.

lol no it's really okay. I just kinda feel sorry for him. He apparently has to fill his time with this. I get paid $40,000 a year to sit at this computer 8 hours a day 4 days a week. I only do real work for about 3 hours a day. The rest of the time I'm either chatting or researching so I really have all the time in the world to address his attacks.

I'd just be more likely to enjoy it if I was having an actual debate or discussion with someone who wished to focus on the topic instead of irrelevancies of spelling and whether or not I personally display the abstract principals I'm arguing for.

Honestly, look into getting a job doing tech support at a company where the software you are supporting is proprietary. All you need to do is learn thier program and you become almost invaluable to them. Most proprietary technical support is based on problems unique to the product and as such fixing them can only be learned from them or by experience. At that point as long as the company doesn't fail you'll have instant job security and good options for job advancement.

I'm currently the youngest tech in my company, I have the highest position and pay in my department and I do the least amount of work. I've only been here a year and a half too. I just learned faster than everyone else. I'd be making more too if the company wasn't in a transition point. smile Or if I had gone to college.

But I work with POSitouch systems. Those are the Point of Sale computers used by stores and restaurants. It's good work. And on top of it now that I'm so well versed in the program, if I ever want to leave here I can pretty much walk into any restaurant and say "I've spent X years supportign the software you use for payroll, menus, order entry, scheduling, inventory and account maintenance. I can not only run the technical aspects of your system but I can also minimize the amount of problems you'll run into with the system. Give me a well paying job." and they will.
