After the startling experience and the panicked feeling of being trapped at The Blue Rose Nerrisa decided to return to The Shrine instead. She was worried, but everything around her seemed potentially dangerous and at least there was the mild comfort of the Goddesses.
If I became one would I be strong enough to protect myself?
Somehow she feared even if she did join their ranks there would be other things more powerful and terrifying to face. No one was ever really on top after all...were they? Irritated by the constant stream of unanswered questions she had she turned and headed into the shrine.

The anger in his voice when he finally spoke jerked Coyotes head up, and she stared up at him with wide eyes, shocked, not just at his tone, but what she saw on his face. Of all the things that could pass over a person's features in response to a tiny show of affect or shared comfort, disgust was not one she had expected to see. It made her stiffen, stomach drooping in a very uncomfortable away as he insisted she not do anything of the sort again.
Outrage was there, rearing it's head automatically, but hurt followed suit, followed finally by anger. It was the latter she found oddly familiar, and she clung to it as those sweet, innocent features closed down into something bitter and cold.
"What made me do that was a memory," she snapped back at him, finally, after all this time, losing her temper. It wasn't the disappearances, or the cold detachment, but this, that finally set her off. "Your arms wrapped around me, your voice soft in my ear." The words ground between her teeth as she threw them up at him.
"I thought-" She stopped apparently losing a few degrees of that burning anger as the hurt welled up higher. "I thought maybe you'd remember." That maybe something similar would spark the memories in him as well.
She'd been wrong, and now she was hurt, angry, and uncomfortable. She stood there glaring up at him, small hand balled at her side as if she were seriously considering striking him, then abruptly turned and walked out into the biting rain.
Let it fall, let it sting and bite along her skin. It was nothing.

It doesn't seem like the goddesses would be asking for anymore fragments in the distant future, so Decyl decided it was a good time to loot some for himself. Yes he still wants to keep one just because.
