This time he'd been ready, gun in hand. Shots rang out, and though they still hurt, he hurt them back.

Zauus grabbed her gun as quick as she could and took a hasty shot. It grazed one of their talons and it let out a blood curdling scream. Zauus covered her ears, but took damage as a result. She went behind a piece of debris, hoping to protect herself a while longer.

Zauus rolled out from behind the rock and took a shot straight through one of the wings of the harpies. They fell to their doom, but a few more stood in her way of success. She received another talon to the shoulder after she had taken out one of their sisters.

A final shot, and the last one fell. It was easier now, not that he had power.

Zauus took another shot that went straight through a wing of another harpy. The rest flew off in fear of ending up like the two that fell to the ground. Zauus stood up from her position and looked around for any more harpies that might've not fled. There were none.

Her brain was never one to catch up with what was happening and she gazed ahead at a chasm with a single bridge overhead. Wincing, her ears shuddered and she felt the cringe up her spine as it seemed to sway back and forth ominously. The small girl swallowed up her fear and walked to the edge, taking a single step warily.
It creaked under her foot and she froze for a moment... then booked it across the rest of the bridge with a spring and a few hops. On the other side she turned, peering down. Squeaking she shielded her eyes and continued her walk.

Zauus headed up to the top of the cliff. It was foggy and she could only feel around for where she was going. A chill still ran down her spine as if someone was following her. She held her gun tightly in one hand. She noticed a small blue glow amongst the fog. She dropped down to her knees and when she got close enough, the orbs came into plain sight. She picked up The Sky and gave her respects to the little resting place of the blessings.

Having fended the harpies off, Lyzzi found herself at the top of the cliffs again. It was nice to be up there, enjoying the scenery and having soem quiet time to sort out her thoughts... Especially since a lot had happened since she first made it up here. It felt like she had growth a fair bit, even if she still felt incomplete. Like she hadn't found what she was looking for.
Still, if her journey is anything like this climb, she probably still have some distance to go before reaching the top.

Panting and wiping her brow off she stopped suddenly, feeling an unsettling feeling behind her. Turning just in time to avoid it something swooped down over her with a loud screech. Bats? No, too large. Mel'ae didn't care what they were and grabbed her axe, holding it up protectively.
"Hey I'm just looking for-"
Another swoop and Mel'ae reacted, slicing her axe around at a few of them as they approached. They seemed to fall away from her in droves but hovered overhead.
"I don't have all day!" She said with a bounce and a glint in her eyes.
