“Nice to meet you senator Serafina.” He flashed her a smile allowing his cup to touch hers. “I haven’t but we play a game called king’s curse back in out kingdom. It’s a little like poker but only three cards. Highest card wins, but really, it’s a game of body language. Hey my bag is still here, I ditched it before going to the battle field. I’m glad I did.” He paused looking at it. He had lost his brothers… no fake brother’s knife, and his lighter and the card in his pocket. He had it memorized by now anyway.

The lights were flickering, whether it was a sign of the end, or a fight, he didn’t know, or even care. “and it didn’t sound like a person, not really. It sounded like some magic force to me.” He added off handedly. “Like a computer.”

The part about bonds sounded nice. “Yeah, I guess we are all the same in that we are all fragments… makes me feel a little better about the whole blowing up the kingdom thing my brother dying” he understood having a fake sister. “… and accidently taking what was left of the silver kingdom down.” He chuckled. “Opps.” Maybe he was a little tipsy.

Jerry went flying off the building and for just a moment, Rep might have felt sorry for the guy. He really did like him. But his conscience in battle was short lived, he'd be fine, they were just plugged in, that was all.

He hoped.

Rep narrowed his eyes at Candace though, clenching his claws into fists.

"You just had to bring that up again." he growled.

This wasn't the same at all.

He attempted to bitchslap her.

"Lights flickering, something sounding like a computer?" She stood up stretching, "Sounds like the Boss and B0nez might still be around then and if anyone knows anything it'd be them."

She looked around frowning, "Anyone know how to get upstairs...? I don't think the elevators are uhhh a good idea with all the power and the missing windows and s**t..."

Candace could have protected Jerry from a lot of things.

Being thrown out the window was not one of them.

"JERRY!" She ran to the window, stopping just short of it and staring down at the nearly destroyed city below. No..he better be okay. He had to be okay. He had to be.

Rep growled at her and Candace turned around with a perplexed look on her face. "Bring what up again? I didn't--" She gasped and held her face after he slapped her with his clawed hands, moving back away from him. Atropos was at her side in a moment, a bottle of blue pills in hand.

"Eat. Now." Candace nodded and didn't even hesitate. She popped the pill in her mouth and swallowed, shuddering and moving away from the window where it was dangerous. Whoa she felt..amazing!

"Rep, stop it. You can't ******** turn on us now. I thought we were friends." She actually sounded hurt by this, her eyes narrowed. She was still moving as far from Rep as possible, as was Atropos.

"A computer is controlling all this?" She snorted. "Wouldn't surprise me. Would take that kind of precision to make this good of a world and to dupe so many of us into thinking we had full lives in here. And the computer having no emotions would contribute to how cruel this all seems to be."

Sounded like some kind of Matrix bullshit, except in the Matrix, when you were unplugged, there was a human body on the other side. In this world, when someone went out, they were out. They were never back again for some kind of second round in a world that was consumed by machines and then went crazy in the next two movies. It was just plain old over. She shook her head, before nodding to Jing and Andrew, acknowledging their names and what they were saying. At least they were all in this together. In some ways, just being able to talk to other people in the same situation as her gave this meaning.

At least she wasn't in this alone, and at least she could talk to other people who were real in their own way, just as she was real in her own way, even if it was in this way, as a Silver Wild Card, someone who had never really been a Blue Kingdom devotee after all, but just a fragment of who she really was.

What Jing said made her wince, though, and she offered an apologetic clink of her glass. "In some ways, we're all there. It's hard to believe that everything we thought was real really wasn't, but I think ... we can make our own realities, our own meaning. Even if it's as brief as this, we at least know that we're real to each other. We must be real to each other, really. We're speaking, experiencing, able to understand each other and we're all aware of ourselves, as fake as we're told we are. We have our own experiences, even if they're not the same experiences that we put so much stock into, and that's what matters."

She laughed.

"Sorry, I think some part of me is still an orator."

The whole place did seem to be spazzing out, though, Sammy had a point. She looked around, biting down on her lip as she attempted to figure out where the stairs might have been. "I'm sure they're around here somewhere. Perhaps a door is still open?"

"Wait..." Jerry coughed, blood spraying across the wires the had entangled him, hefting him up. The room was swaying- b0nez was talking, he could hear candace's voice... "C-can... Candy what... was the p-pass... passwor-" The rest of his frantic, blood-soaked question was lost in the explosion of glass.

It wasn't real it wasn't real it was an illusion, he still had a fear hsield, this was in his head... these thoughts didn't help ease the panic of what had just happened, although it was a long way down all the same.

Down on Bar-room level, there was a sudden shower of glass outside the window. Anyone who chanced to glance outside at the ringing tone would have a marvelous view of the body that slammed into the concrete outside at a very sizable speed.

The mess at least cleaned itself up in a slow mist of miasma... there was no longer a janitor.

But he would be back.

Upstairs, Roar staggered to his feet. He couldn't breath- Jerry was gone, tumbling out of sight, but by the time he turned, eyes glowing green for just a brief moment he was already dissolving in miasmic mist....

Jerry: Ded
Roar: Also Ded but not as splattered.

"The question is." The dealer began, swiveling around in his chair. 'Is how far can we go in that thing." he pointed out, jabbing a thumb in the direction of the elevators. "And I don't think we can just, scale the building from outside."

before anyone got some wild ideas about their fake immortality.
"Sera, that just went over my head, you know."

The crash was audible, the sound of flesh hitting glass and pavement. "Hm, guess they are upstairs afterall."

"WHAT THE ******** style="color: darkgreen">Bolting to the door she had heard the impact before she saw it, for the few moments between Miasma breaking apart and still being whole she had a very good chance to look at Jerry before looking back.

"We need to get upstairs. Now. What the ******** is going on now... If Harrison ends up dead before we can talk to him we might be all screwed.... still... or something."

The wires coiled sulkily.

He nodded at the fake senator. “Yeah our own meanings. We should tell the others about the whole… experience of death.”

“Aren’t there stairs in this place? I mean… you would think.” Andrew didn’t like the idea of riding an elevator, or moving from his spot with his drinks by the bar. He had already fought and died once. “I think we should wait until things cool down.” The fight was getting louder, and was that a body. Nope, he really didn’t want to go now. Nope.

"The mission in the jungle, the one that got me ******** cuffed. Don't play dumb." he couldn't even begin to believe that she has just accidentally said it, unaware just how unfortunate she really was when it came to the minefield of his feelings.

"Frenemy is right." he purred to B0nez. "At best. I told you, no hard feelings." as if this somehow excused everything.

He leapt over some writhing cables to lash out at her again. She was making this difficult.

Taima peered around G at the sound of falling glass and didn't so much as flinch at the body that followed. Instead, she gave a slow golf clap. "He made such a big splash upon entry. Two points for effort, though."

Oh. That. Candace didn't stop moving, ducking under writhing wires and jumping over ones that lashed out to try and trip her; at the moment words could not describe how thankful she was to her training with Atropos. "I was not referring to that, I was talking about now. The present. The time that ******** matters."

And then he purred at B0nez. He purred.

"Rep, you're acting like a goddamn monster. A sociopath. Stop it!" She couldn't hit him. She couldn't. No hard feelings, right. Nothing personal.

That idiot.

Atropos jumped in front of the attack, taking the full brunt of it with a grunt. She shoved Rep back, keeping herself between Rep and Candace.

"Rep, the point of this mission is to save Harrison. You save him by killing the king. You know where the gate is, you know he has the cards. <******** kill him not your own team." She hissed, wishing she still had fangs to bare at the man threatening her Candace.

To Jing, she rubbed her neck. "Ah, sorry, I guess I get carried away sometimes. This whole situation is a bit ... carried away, though, I suppose." Of course, she was saying that with the background noise of glass shattering. Perhaps more was carried away than what was happening to them, though she wasn't entirely sure what could be worse than finding out your entire life was really some kind of elaborate lie created by someone playing a cruel game.

She was glad that Andrew understood what she meant, though, and offered a smile to him. If he understood what her only remaining purpose was, perhaps he would understand why she was still here. She could have just stayed dead, but she would like to die knowing that ... something was worthwhile.

"Maybe. I'm not sure if I really want to expose people to how awful things are if it can be avoided, but at the same time, I guess it is ... best to know."

Was it, though? Would that have made her experience feel any different? The Senator wasn't entirely sure, and it wasn't like she could have the experience in the same way again. Next time she was dead, she was already exposed. There would be no new pain, only the same as before. And there wouldn't be no new fake memories to lose. She already knew all of her memories from before were a bit of a joke.

To Taima's remark, Serafina couldn't help her snort. "He didn't make a perfect dive, though. I give it a nine out of ten. He should have straightened his back and caused less of a splash." Horribly morbid, really, comparing someone's death to a synchronized diving competition. But what else could they do? It was all fake anyway. "Do we really want to jump into what's going on up there?"
