Amaya noted the determination that Akeru set to his task with. Was it that he needed someone to depend on him? Maybe he needed a set task. No, as a medic he probably needed someone to count on him and that was his drive in that moment. It was interesting watching him work, but Amaya also had a task that she needed to complete too. Part of that task would be keeping Akeru calm, but it appeared that with a set task he was managing to keep a hold of himself. The child decided that she would only butt in if the Uchiha started spiraling again, so she was going to have to keep a close eye on him while she worked. Inherently that would slow her progress, but what she was working on wasn’t near as important as the particular area that she had just put in the man’s care. There was a chance that her classmates could come in and not notice the small speckles of blood on the floor, but there was no way that they would all over look the past puddle in the back. That would raise questions and then they would either have to synchronize a lie or tell the truth. Strike that; the truth was not an option. The last thing she wanted to tell anyone was the Akeru had taken a swing at her with his nodachi and pulled off in time to strike himself instead. Yeah, that would go over great. They would definitely let her be on his team after that.

Constantly switching back from the floor to Akeru, Amaya noticed that her head was beginning to hurt a little. She was probably a little bit dehydrated from the day’s heat, but that wasn’t a concern. It would be easy to get her water levels back up to where they were supposed to be that evening. Scrubbing the floor constantly, the child moved her way along the path, slowly making each little crimson speckle disappear. One of the most frustrating things about the blood was the miniscule little sprays that happened when the thick liquid met with the ground. It didn’t just pool, it splashed and a little bit would go everywhere. That also meant that there were some spots that were darker than others, so it wasn’t a perfect trail that the girl was following. Once again Amaya’s eyes darted from the floor to Akeru and back again. Yet another stubborn spot rest on the floor and the girl dug in. However, this time her hands slipped along the handle and she felt a sliver slide under the skin at the base of her thumb. She didn’t flinch, the girl just kept on working. First her wrist, now a sliver. Oh well, they weren’t of any consequence, she could get the piece of wood out later.

As they worked at a swifter pace now, the coppery smell Akeru hadn't taken too much of a notice before became increasingly repugnant to his senses. He probably was overreacting, this likely was the result of both spending too much time cleaning up the stains and his consequent nervousness due to the sudden tension of the situation... Where before he could pay attention to the pleasant smell of soap, now the metallic smell was acrid, unwelcome, to his senses. Why couldn't he go back to ignoring the smell? He would be able to work better if he was able to concentrate better... This probably all went back into how he did not appreciate their sudden, short-notice time limit at all. Why did the students have to finish now of all times?

Nor was the uncooperative stain sitting below his mop making him feel any better. Amaya-chan may have let the rags soak for quite a long time, however, the stain wasn't becoming any more willing to leave the wood. Granted, he should give her idea credit where it deserved, because the fresher, thinner edges to the large stain was beginning to flake off. Maybe wood was just a terribly stubborn surface... He quickly found himself wishing again that the Academy was built out of stone and not wood. At least smoother, polished surfaces would've made this whole ordeal less miserable to treat.

Much like Akeru, the small girl that worked with him was also feeling the time crunch pressing down with the initial sound of her classmates approaching. However, Amaya wasn’t going to let herself panic and she wasn’t going to let herself become distracted by the concerning noises. It was only a matter of time before everyone returned, so the girl felt that she should be thankful for having had as much time as they did thus far. They were able to clean the hallway without interruption and there was still a chance that they could complete their task with no one else being any the wiser. That is, if they didn’t see the mops, rags, buckets, or afro-like hairstyles.

Damn, there were two more points that she hadn’t accounted for her in her little thought process. Resting her mop against her shoulder, the child smoothed her hair down onto her head with a little bit of difficulty. There was the constant sizzle and crackle as the hair continued in its attempts to levitate, but Amaya won out to a point that made her tresses presentable once again. Then there was the matter of all the cleaning supplies. If everyone could be heard in the hall then chances were that they were in view of the classroom too. That would mean that one of the two, or both of them for that matter, would look at the very least peculiar carrying around their mops and sudsy water buckets. Surely there would be questions and that was something that just wouldn’t do right then. Hopefully Akeru would think of the same thing because Amaya didn’t have any bright ideas to keep everyone from finding out.

The child’s eyes narrowed slightly while she thought about the best course of action. Of course, aside from the momentary pause to fix her hair, the girl had been working steadily along the line of blood in order to continue on with their progress. They could hide the stuff somewhere, but Amaya couldn’t reach most of the places in the room thanks to her lacking height. Since they were on the first floor they could just slip everything out the window until later when they had the chance to sneak everything in, but that was even more suspicious and there wasn’t anything beneath the window sill to guard everything from people’s sight. While there were a number of options, none of them seemed viable. Actually, the majority of them were just plain ridiculous. No, all of them were.

Every second that passed felt like it pulled at his heartstrings...no, not his heartstrings, at the strings that held his mind precariously dangling over the edge of complete hysteria. Every heavy thump of his heart against his ribcage almost hurts, making him even more painfully aware of every fraction of a second that slipped by. They were not going to make the cut, there was absolutely no way that was humanly or shinobily possible... Besides, even if they made the temporal cutline, how were they going to explain the cleaning supplies? The linen folds of the mop's head was quite stained by now. And what really could he explain the color as? Paint? Yeah, right... Like that would be even remotely believable. He hated it, the familiar feeling of helplessness...and as the last few milliseconds of precious time passed, his anxiety was bordering on desperation.

What could he do? He thought fiercely, even as he put more power into his scrubbing. What was within his abilities to do? Raiton was out, there was no way he could burn the supplies... And he doubt Amaya-chan would let him anyways. Besides, he wouldn't do such a thing only because it transgressed to the delicate issue of vandalism. He was sure neither Shikamori-jiji nor the Senju imperial family will be ecstatic to discover, say, if a fire unfortunately started in the Academy out of a desperate attempt to rid evidence. His mind raced. Maybe he could at least make the wood of the mop's pole arm smoke enough to trigger the fire alarms? What he needed, after all, was simple: either keep the students out or finish this quickly and find someway to transfer the supplies out.

It was probably best that Amaya couldn’t ease drop on Akeru’s thought process. She was always a little wary of fires thanks to the forge and if she knew that he had schemed to destroy the cleaning solutions there was no telling how she would react. Panicking and trying to put out the mops by rolling them on the floor was the most likely solution in the spur of the moment. If it worked for people then there was no reason why it wouldn’t work for inanimate objects, right? Again, it was probably for the best that the young Keiji female didn’t know what was going on in her Uchiha companion’s mind because nothing good ever came from her panicking. No, nothing. Ever.

Amaya leaned into the mop handle, though a bit unnecessarily, as the pressure began to weigh on her. If she used more force then she would have to make fewer passes with would speed up the over all process. The child notably picked up her pace, reacting to the urgency as calmly and affectively as she could at the time. The blood was now coming up in a single pass, sometimes two, and it made her work toward the back of the classroom much quicker than it had been before. Yukio had always told her that panicking bred panic and that there really was no good use for it. He really had taught her everything, almost everything, she knew and he had been a very heavy influence on her most recent developments since she had spent so much time with him in the forge as of recent.

Scrub, scrub, scrub, and don’t panic. The girl spared a glance over at Akeru and knew that he was probably on the verge of panic. Hopefully the man would keep it together, but she had given him the most difficult task that they had remaining. Perhaps that had been a mistake. Oh well, too late to take it back now. Scrub, scrub, scrub.

So his initial plans were definitely out of the question. The third option would be to simply remain in place and panic, but that wouldn't stop - judging by the voices - Inechi-kun and Sakura-chan -- from approaching the classroom any slower. Because to lose his nerves now would also be extremely counterproductive, his mind formulated extra backup plots instead. Perhaps he could just use his nodachi to carve out a piece of the floor? Surely it won't be missed. There was plenty of other wood on other parts of the floor. Besides, the Academy could always file a repairs order to the Senju clan, and the floor will be finished in a jiffy. Maybe nobody would miss a gouged out piece of wood at all, nope, maybe nobody would even notice.

His despair grew. Who was he kidding? WIth how the floor were kept oh-so-wonderfully-clean, the overhead lights alone made the surface sparkle with its shininess. Of course someone was bound to notice one part of the floor was suddenly, mysteriously, missing a well-sized chunk. Besides, what if someone sees him when he is transporting the wood fragment out...? How was he going to explain that sort of vandalism? If only there was a way to transfer things without being seen... Why couldn't physical objects be like cell membranes and he can just wish it'll permeate through the walls? But wait, that led to the courtyard, which was an equally bad place. He shivers to think how others would react to a suspicious chunk of wood dropping out of nowhere.

But then again, chipping was the start of an idea... His frown deepened, as he reangled the mop so that the sharper point hidden by the mop's linen layers was more exposed. Granted, he couldn't just gouge out the whole piece of wood, but perhaps he can carefully chip away at the surface. It would inflict damage to the wood, this method, but at the least it the difference in volume to the wood won't be glaringly noticeable. There were lots of scratches on the wood's surface anyways thanks to the sharp metal raisers on the bottom tips of the chair legs. All he needed was the central, most concentrated part of the large stain to go. The rest he can probably forcibly scrub out.

It caught her a little by surprise, but when Amaya looked down she found herself right next to where Akeru was working. With just a few more scrubs, the child had rid the floor of its dotted crimson trail and now none would be the wiser. Amaya gave her mop a final rinse in the cooled sudsy water before looking up and around the classroom. The two had done a fine job. That is, they would once that final spot in the back of the room was cleaned. It had been an exhausting process, but the girl couldn’t relax quite yet.

Looking down at the stain on the ground, Amaya realized that it was giving Akeru quite a bit of trouble. However, she nodded in approval of his new technique, which was something that she probably wasn’t physically capable of doing herself. Now, the child was glad that she had set Akeru to the task instead of trying to take it on herself. Not only was the male Uchiha more physically capable of lifting the stain than she was, but thus far the golden eyed man had also been struggling with the trail of blood. She wasn’t sure what it was, aside from having not been raised cleaning up after himself, but the ways of cleaning were somehow beyond the teenaged man. That was alright, though. It had taught Amaya a little bit about leadership and about exploiting a strength in order to get a job done. It was a tedious and painful lesson, both literally and figuratively, but it was worthwhile.

With the voices in the hall steady growing louder with their movement, the young girl leaned her mop against the back wall and went about collecting the various pieces of supplies that they two had used in their little expedition. There were a few rags that she had in a pile, her mop and her bucket were all together. Then, looking around the room, the child realized that there was no place to hide anything and that she wasn’t going to be able to race back to the closet. It wasn’t like she couldn’t take Akeru’s bucket of water because she didn’t know how much longer that little faction was going to take. Amaya knew that she couldn’t even slip into the lavatory to rinse out the rags that had been soaking the spot that Akeru presently worked on. Now, the girl was at a loss. She wasn’t sure what to do and she wasn’t sure how to go about helping Akeru or putting everything away without getting caught. So, Amaya did the only logical thing she could think of at the time: ask. ”Akeru-san, what can I do to help?” The child left the question open ended in hopes that the Uchiha wouldn’t panic but, instead, just take her assistance for what it was worth if there was anything at all that she could do.

After scratching a few long lines on the wooden board, he gave up. This was getting him no where, and while trace amounts of blood was coming off where the sharp point contacted the floor, he was really getting nowhere. Oh, how he wished that he had both of his limbs for this cleaning business. It would've made his task much simpler... But the thought alone was rhetorically insulting: if he had both of his arms in good condition, then this mess would either not have occurred in the first place or worse, what would've otherwise happened to Amaya-chan. All right, all right. He didn't wish he had been uninjured. He did wish however forming handseals with his forearm's current condition hadn't been so difficult, otherwise he would've swiftly settled to heal his injury, and then apply the strength of both limbs into lifting the stain. With the strength of only one arm, he couldn't just properly exert the right amount of force through the long handle of the mop. Ah, pole-arms. He never did quite like them.

He probably would've had better luck even taking up a rag and scrubbing the stain directly, but the rags were all already somewhat crimson from Amaya-chan letting them sit on the red splash in an attempt to coax the stubborn stain from binding this tightly to the floor. He could use them still probably (and risk the stain spreading further) but come to think of it, wasn't the mop head pretty filthy by now? His brows furrowed. What if that exactly was the problem? That the rinsings in the soap-water mixture no longer helped the mop...? He stopped in place, and then quickly, raised and flipped the mop so he could examine the linen head.

As Sakurayuki walked back with Shiro, the flourescent light of the building temporarily blinded her as she blinked a bit to get her eyes used to the lighting again. It had gotten slightly dark outside, and a bit chilly too, although it was the pleasant sort of a mix of a warm atmosphere and a cool breeze. While she was walking up to the classroom though, there was a strange smell that hit her nose as they got nearer. Now just a corner away from the classroom, she stopped and sniffed around, smelling the scent of some sort of sudsy material, quite like soap.

"Shiro, am I the only one who smells this?"

[Awareness 11 + 8 | 19] Once inside the Academy Shiro immediately felt cooler thanks to the air conditioning. He casually walked alongside Yuki, despite the knowledge that he had now completed the Academy curriculum. Now qualified to graduate he supposed that they could take him at anytime like their previous sensei. Though he hoped that they would wait and assign him to a fresh squad. He longed to fight but he also wanted to hon his skills a little more. Sure he knew the basics of being a ninja but he didn't really know any lethal techniques yet. He supposed that the exploding could be used lethally but it was unlikely. Plus he wanted to continue his kenjutsu training. Thankfully they probably wouldn't do anything about him until at least the following day so he certainly had time to prepare. "Shiro, am I the only one who smells this?" Sakurayuki asked him. At her suggestion he sniffed the air for himself, having been too caught up in thought before to notice. ick, it smells like junk mom puts on the floor after Jirou's been sick... but there's something else? What is it? It's kind of metallic smelling. Like when you rub your hand on coin for a while and then smell your hand.

He his head to the side, so that he was looking at Sakurayuki, "I definitely smell cleaning stuff." he told her, leaving out the other part.

"Amaya-chan, look. The head's pretty filthy, which was why it was becoming ineffective."

His frown deepened, as what he had suspected turned out to be true. What now? The head of the mop was fairly ruined, stained a pretty deep pinkish-red color, it seemed that the rinsings had a number of times ago became useless. It was probably nothing a good trace amount of bleach could fix. But that was out of the question, they had no access to bleach here. He had a good idea of how to temporarily ameolirate this problem however, and settling the mop on the ground, he knelt down and began quietly working to tying portions of the linen strips that made up the mop's head here and there. It was only a slight manipulation to the mop head's shape, but it was enough to cover the worst stained parts of the mop head from further contacting the floor and therefore further working contrary to what he was trying to do. But he wouldn't trust to rely completely on the mop -- no, not just yet.

So he left the mop to rest on the ground, and took up the rag that appeared the most clean. He checked all sides of it to see in just how bad a condition it was, but after determining that this one was passable for usage, he plunged the hand fisting the rag directly into the bucket of now red-pink soapy water, and took to trying to apply force directly. The sounds of linen rubbing against wood soon filled the room: this was definitely a better method, as the stubborn stain slowly began to leave the ground. It wasn't as large as when he had started, that was for sure, but this should even further reduce their problem.

To his surprise, the red was leaving the floor more swiftly than he expected: so this was what he needed all along? Irritation bubbled up inside him: why couldn't he think of this method sooner? Blood was such a troublesome substance indeed... As he worked, he heard a familiar voice again -- Sakurayuki's, closer now -- and his irritation further inflamed. He was not one to think of family as nuisances, but by Amateratsu, did he just right now not have a very pleasant thought associated with her. At the least, the wood grains were finally cooperating, but this factor was of little consolation to him.

Fortunately, his irritation seemed to work to his advantage, as the forceful scrubbing of the Academy floor became even more forceful. The sounds grew, but then, so did the rate that the blood was leaving the wood. The formerly dried blood that was already leaving the wood with surprising speed became exceptionally quick now. As the stain grew smaller and smaller, all the while he worked, he thought to himself, if this situation ever passed by just fine, he would never again neglect to bring along cleaning supplies in his summoning scroll. Who would've ever guessed to things one would have never known they would need? He supposed that was what Shikamori-jiji meant by "a good shinobi must always be quite prepared".

Just because water conforms does not mean it is any lesser an element.

His knees were beginning to feel numb, the feeling in them gradually becoming lost as time passed by. This was definitely not any work remotely bordering pleasant... He should remember to thank the bunke clansmen whom were responsible for cleaning everyday. As he worked, ignoring glaring discomfort, Akeru had taken to muttering darkly beneath his breath to keep his mind on the task. At length, with another furious rub, with great effort he managed to lift the entirety of the stain. He didn't realize he had been holding quite a long breath, and it came out too harshly, too quickly and only because his body cried out for air. But it was too soon for a sigh of relief yet. Without losing a beat, Akeru dropped the rag on the ground, ignoring the fact that the palm of his hand now smarted painfully from the friction. The stain was finally off the ground, but there was a residue hint of pink: that should be where the mop will come in now.

He stood up and with the front of his foot, he kicked the mop into the air before his good hand caught the twirling length of the polearm before gravity brought it down again. It took another fraction of a moment to position the mop right in his arm, and he began quickly scrubbing at the spot again. He could almost hear the fractions to a second tick away, before when he moved the mop from hovering over the stain, there was nothing left there now. A few scratches here and there yes from his erroneous method before, but the problem was gone. His eyes then fell on the cleaning supplies.

Well, only one problem was gone actually...

He began gathering the supplies together. It probably made her curious as to what he was planning to do with them. When both mops, both buckets, and all the rags were together, Akeru paused.

"Amaya-chan...?" He mumbled, sounding unsure.

He reached into the pocket where he kept his summoning scroll. The first thing he did was drop that on the ground, before kneeling down and taking a moment to unroll it.

"Gomen."

And then, without another word, he dug the fingers of his good hand into the securing part of the gauze on his forearm, pulled, and allowed the top portion of the bandage to come free. As he suspected, the wound had stopped bleeding, but as all blade wounds went, they were also really easy to reopen. Carefully, he applied a little bit of pressure on the tip of the cut, drawing out a little bit of blood onto the index finger of his good limb, and began drawing sutra patterns onto the scroll's blank length.

Cleaning
It was a bit hard to manage with only one hand, but Akeru is quite stubbornly intent to spare the custodian the outrage of cleaning up blood...

The child was pleasantly surprised with how easily the Uchiha completed the cleaning. With Sakura and Shiro’s voices now audible, it was obvious that they needed to hurry. It appeared that not only had the teenager learned to clean as she had shown him, but he also understood the concepts behind it well enough to get creative. Then again, that was the nature of a shinobi. Soon, every trace of evidence had disappeared aside from the cleaning supplies and Akeru’s bandaged arm.

Before she had a chance to speak, Amaya was halted by curiosity. Gomen. What in the world did he have to apologize fo—oh, that. The girl was a little startled at the man’s actions since she didn’t yet know how sealing worked, but she didn’t panic and she didn’t get angry when she saw for a few reasons. First and foremost was the fact that he had used blood to summon the kunai and shuriken that she had used for target practice, all of which she would have to remember to give back at the end of the day. Then there was the pure fascination. What was this and how did it work. Instead of replying, the girl found herself inching over towards the kneeling man and tentatively peered over his shoulder at what he was doing. Amaya was a student in the hungriest sense of the word.

Was it normal for her to be feeling this tired? While watching the others some of them seemed to be lasting longer then herself. Could it be that she used way to much chakra then necessary? that was a possibility, but there was also a chance that she didn't have that large amount of chakra energy to begin with. It seemed that she was going to have to rest after every attempt wither it was fail or not to avoid from possibly passing out. Sighing Hoeru slightly banged her head against the side of a wall. "This is going to take FOR....EEEE....VERRR! Seemed that the first knot had possibly been a fluke.
