"I don't know if I can face whatever you're holding."

Brutal honesty from the Pirate here, it was something that she kept drawing out him with each passing moment they shared. He moved towards the desk slowly at first and then at a more normal pace, he kept chastising himself for being such a damn coward but he also felt his reasons were valid. Since his first experience with the cainite blood and being thrown into this world he had been given a crash course in humanity and the full range of emotions. He took the goblet from the table and drank deeply, he didn't rush but took the blood in several large mouthfuls. Once again looking at Roan he laughed slightly to himself and shook his head.

"Live and Die on this day. Lets go."

Staying very still as Dagoth made his choice and came forwards, she had to remind herself not to be TOO still. It was all too easy to stop everything, and become a part of the background, but that'd be the wrong message to send right now.

She stood up as he spoke once more, nodding once before leading the way out of the room and towards the second floor suite the necromancer was currently inhabitting.

"Whoever she turns out to be... it's alright. We'll deal with it."

So saying, she knocked thrice on the door before opening it, using the shadows within as a window to check the girl was decent before pushing the door open to enter.

Daegonna was sitting at the foot of the bed, carefully disassembling the vessel she had liberated from the graveyard.

She was still slightly bruised, her dress was torn and bloodied, her red curls were a tangled mess, and her hands were still wrapped in bandages. While she was half daemon, and while she did heal faster than a human, she still had to tend to wounds with the care a mortal would - she was, after all, mortal herself.

She heard the knock at the door, but didn't look up right away. She carefully set aside her project, looked up at the pair in the doorway. She sat there a moment, golden eyes wide, glistening with tears.

Then, without warning, the tiny daemon sprang up and launched herself at Dagoth. She flung herself at him, jumping up and latching onto him like a koala, arms and legs locked around his neck and shoulders with surprising strength for something so small. Then she broke down sobbing, still clinging to him for dear life.

She looked up at him, searching his face as if she couldn't quite believe it was him, even though he smelled the same (fire, cordite, blood, and his own scent) and looked the same (battered and slightly singed and grumpy). Then words tumbled from her mouth all in one breath of nonsensical grief and anguish "TheytookmefromtheschoolandIburnedthemalllikeyousaidtobutIcouldn'tfindyouandthentheydidsomethingtomyheadandnowthedeadobeymebuttheywouldn'ttellmewhereyouwereIthoughtyouweredeadorgoneorleftme!"
Then she buried her face in his shirt and burst into tears all over again.

Dagoth almost fell flat on his arse when the little demon hit him square in the chest, he looked down at her all curls, energy and mischief. He held on to her supporting her weight instinctively shifting himself to ensure they wouldn't topple over during her verbal assault. He marvelled how different she now looked, so much older and yet that look in her eyes the speed at which she unloaded on to him, he doubted his earlier stance.

"Shhh now little kitten, it is you isn't it? I canno.....no, no matter. Roan forget what I said, this really is my sister."

He looked over to the older cainite, he seemed happy but incredibly confused, this didn't make any sense for them to come together like this was a huge twist of fate. The Pirate realised that his face wasn't showing what it should right now nor was he focusing on the right thing. So he went from just holding the smaller woman to hugging her like he should have at the start.

The moment the witch launched herself at Dagoth, the air snapped with burnt ozone. Whiel the two had every reason to focus on each other, it would be hard to miss that Roan had reacted as if this were a threat, and now had a MASSIVE sword in her hands, the back raking tip almost, almost piercing into Daegonna's side, electricity humming along the length.

However, with Dagoth's words, she took a step backwards, and slid the blade onto her back, her face neutral, unchanging, save for a quirked eyebrow.

"You are certain? Take your time. Give me conclusive feedback within 24 hours. Until then... I am happy for your reunion. Relax, enjoy the mansions amenities, catch up with each other.
There are clothes in the wardrobe in all sizes Ms DaShea. You are welcome to them."

A family reunion was no place for an old corpse. Her initial response was to accept the raw emotions in both of them, but cautioned tinged all things for her.
Bowing her head and stepping out, her mind was already at work.

.: Keep an eye for me. :.
.: Already on it. A close call... :.
.: Sudden movements are never wise around predators. A lesson to them both. :.

Deciding to check up on the upgrades to the TR room, she slid away downstairs.

Daegonna froze as the blade appeared at her side, a hairsbreadth from plunging into her just beneath the ribs. She realized her mistake a moment after making it. She stared back at Roan, wide-eyed and momentarily uncertain, but remained latched onto her brother.

She nodded silently in understanding and thanks at the offer of clothes. She'd be grateful to get out of her ruined dress and into something clean.

Roan disappeared, and Daegonna turned her attention back to her brother. She let go of him, standing up and tugging anxiously at the hem of her skirt, eyes locked on the floor as she tried to figure out what to say.

"So...what have you been up to?" she asked awkwardly, tipping her horned head to one side and looking up at her brother.

Dagoth begun to turn into the blade when Roan had already withdrew her need to attack. He was visablly annoyed for a few moments before realising just how stupidly reckless he had just been, she could have been anyone anything inside a Dae shape shell. The Pirate had just gone and let her leap into prime killing range without any resistance however, the train of thought was quickly interrupted by the most adorable and ridiculous set of action and question. He burst out into a fit of deep laughed from the guts of his body, he was covered in blood, soot and bits of people and that was what she asked.

He struggled to supress the laughter whilst he spoke. "10 plus years and thats..." another burst of laughter "THATS your first question." he giggled once more and held his hands up to her, his fingers a mixture of black, red and olive "Pretty much this but far more drunk and filled with angst. How about you my dear?"

He sniggered slightly putting on an over the top british accent as he did so, he was deep down terrified that she was in some way angry with him and then worried about what happened to her. For now though the Pirate was just happy to spend this moment in her company and forget it all.

Daegonna shrugged.

"I dunno. It's a little...weird, running into you after so long. It's not like we can pick up where we left off," she pointed out "I was like...nine."

She looked him up and down again, taking in the blood, ashes, and grime.

"You don't look much different," she said with a half-smile. "Still starting fights and setting fires." Her voice was dry, but her smile was warm and happy.

When he asked about her, she looked off to the side and shrugged a bit, her smile taking on some strain.

"Long story short...A talent-seeking necromancer grabbed me on my way home from school. Bit of a blur, really. There was a fire. I thought I killed you and mom. I spent the last few years in school before the dear tutor went a mite insane, set ghouls on us as a sort of final exam, and took off with some things he oughtn't have." Her eyes grew distant for a moment.

"Got grabbed by some Bible freaks, Corbin rescued me, and here I am." She concluded, waving a hand at her surroundings.

Dagoth grinned down at her, she was older but not much taller than he remembered her. For him ageing was something that would come a long time from now, he tended to forget other races weren't so lucky.

"Aye I suppose getting you books and that dress won't solve things this time. Although I will miss you reading to me, you always did have the better Cheshire cat voice."

Dagoth studied her carefully whilst she sped through her past, he knew it would take them both a long time to get over what had happened and open up again. He would have at this stage but his hand on his head mentioned something her mother hated her eating, the book store and maybe a lesson or two in anything she wanted to cheer her up.

"You're going after him right?"

Parking the bike out front Corbin pulled the helmet off and left it on the seat. Standing straight to get some cracks out of his spine and tail after a whipping lash he produced his cigarettes and lit one up.

A long, exhausted sigh before replacing the smoke between his lips and he set on up the front steps and into the mansion.

Grumbling the whole time about putting big holes in a certain someone, he carried on into the main reception area and fell into one of the lounges with a huff.

About twenty minutes after Corbin came in, the sound of another engine in the driveway indicated Roan was also home.
Stepping out of a purple Lotus, Roan tossed the keys to Jan as he came out of the house, then trotted up the steps into the main hall while seeking a smoke from her pockets. She was dressed in just casuals, fresh from a meeting with a contemporary from Barton.

Exhaling a smoke ring, she hadn't noted Corbin on a lounge nearby her attention on the fact that the men who had been working in the TR seemed to be packing up.

"It's finished?"
"Should be. Won't know till it's tested of course, but the technology is sound, the theory right."

Cocking a brow, the fledgling watched over the lit end of his cigarette from his slumped posture on the lounge as Roan walked by, and began speaking with those noisy bastards who were finally getting their crap together to leave it seemed.

Overhearing the conversation, he exhaled and reached for the bottle of whiskey he'd gotten from Jan before Roan got back.

"Carpeting the training room, boss?"

Taking a swig he rose to his feet and casually strolled over to join in.

"Corbin..."

Nodding to him, now she realised he was present, she turned back to the men packing up with a worrisome grin.

"A test you say.... Corbin. these guys are some fot he most elite computer scientists among the ranks of the undead. They've upgraded the training room. Break it."
"What?!"
"You said it needed a test. If Corbin can break it, I promise you it wont stand up to my heavy handed usage."
"If you break it and we have to start from scratch, it'll cost you."
"Have I ever shown a reluctance to pay?"
"...no ma'am."
"Right."

Leading the way inside, Roan whistled seeing the new layout of the TR. The walls were now smooth, the only odd thing present a series of small metal objects laid into a shelf on the wall. The computer screen by the door was the most familiar sight.

"Just talk to the computer and it will load whatever you choose. There aren't any restrictions on the system yet - you'll have to set those like before."
"Understood. Corbin? Choose your prey. Lets see how well this thing works."
"It's hard light technology, so don't be surprised when it causes REAL wounds..."

"AYE M'AM!"

Grinning over his cigarette at the order he balled one fist at a time and cracked his knuckles with sickening audible results as he followed Roan into the room. 'Break it', was a MUCH more interesting mission than his last.

Taking a moment to look around the room, equally impressed by what he saw he strolled over to one of the walls to examine the odd devices, while listening to the tech.

"Sounds like fun, 'ere."

Popping the cork back in his bottle he tossed it to Roan without much thought and drew his Gunblade, double checking the rounds in the cylinder first.

"You kids might wanna get be'ind somethin'. Lady Roan DeSeer, level five restriction!"

"...you're insufferable, boy."

Catching the drink, she backed to an edge of the room, then passed outside to the viewing window, passing the bottle to the man who had come in with them, as they both got ready to watch.

"Hard light, huh?"
"Yeah. The biggest problem you'll have is firing live rounds too close to the walls. while the materials we've used will stop most things, a point blank penetrating round..."
"Understood."
"Also... mental abilities won't work. There's no way we can make any program read minds, you know?"
"I suppose that makes sense. Let's see how this plays out..."

Inside the room, one of the small oval devices levitated off the shelf.

"Affirmative. Loading Level 5 simulation. Caution: Lethal damage potential active. Confirm system settings, state desired environment."

In front of Corbin, forming around the oval device, Roan cracked her neck, the red leather of her outfit creaking softly as she drew her sword, then froze as the computer awaited confirmation.
