With that the final Joltik would go down, apparently fate intended only two survivors for this conflict. A collective screech of fear rose up amidst the Joltik as their champions went down; and in response something shot forth from the shadows. Landing on all it's legs, standing between Vanni and the nest, it's hair surging with electricity was a Galvantula.
Crick crick....BOOM.
The sound echoed around the reservoir, and with it something would fall from high above landing with an audible SQUELCH. Hmm...now that was odd wasn't it? Didn't things usually land with a clang or a ploop in a place like this? Ah. It would seem, as Vanni would soon learn, the sound had been muffled when the object, a fair sized manhole cover, had landed upon and squished the Galvantula. Well that certainly solved that issue. Another cry of terror would spring up amidst the Joltik's as their next potential hero went down. All at once the arachnids still sensible enough to flee would tense up...and that was when PokeBalls would rain forth from above, bouncing off the Pokemon's heads and capturing them by the dozens. An instant later a man in a jumpsuit identical to Vanni's, obviously a worker her, would repel down on a rope attached to a large plastic tub "Told ya it'd work!" The man shouted up. The response would echo down a moment later "I didn't say you couldn't! I said we SHOULDN'T!"
"Bah. Friggin pansy" The man grumbled as his tub reached the walkway "Ah, you must be the kid they sent down here. We've got the rest of this so you go on up" The man stated, gesturing to the tub with his thumb. Moments later several other workers would all drop down, throwing PokeBalls while surrounded by a wide variety of Electric-Types.

Vanni couldn't help it; what with the length and damage the horde battle had done,, she found her knees shaking and a painful sense of relief shooting through her body. With a cheer, she darted forward, grabbing Culann and scooping him up for a hug. The Growlithe grumbled, but put up with it, giving the girl a friendly nuzzle. The celebration was quickly interpreted as the Galvantula appeared, crackling menacing. With a snarl, Culann struggled away from his trainer, making to use her chest as a springboard into the next fight... but it seemed he wouldn't need to. Manholes ahoy! Everyone loved a good manhole.
And there came the other works, scattering the Joltik without further ado. The petite girl listened to the brusque but clearly effective worker, and gave nothing more than a short nod. Honestly, she wasn't quite sure what she could say... oh, wait. "Thanks," she spoke, voice a bit rough, and she reached up to tip her hat... only to get a handful of sticky webbing. She sighed, but didn't complain, and with an armful of indignant Growlithe she entered the tub. [10/10]
As the bucket lifted her up through the air the young trainer would begin hearing sounds from beyond the hole, the sound of explosions accompanied by the calling of various attacks. When she at last reached the surface and fresh air it would be to have herself yanked out of the bucket, a hand clamping tight over her mouth as she was swiftly dragged off. All the while she'd hear the chaotic din of battle, occasionally watching electricity fly and projectiles of various sorts passing through the air.
A door would slam shut, and within an instant the child would be released. When she turned to view her 'captor' she'd find herself face to face with a rather tall man dressed in a white lab-coat, hunched down for her convenience. Sitting somewhere in his early thirties the man wore a pair of spectacles one size too small made of plastic rather than metal. Light blue eyes were matched with tattered looking hair of a navy hue; it looked like he'd been pulling at it, and often. Most importantly was the Organizations emblem, a single red R emblazoned on the left side of his coat just over his heart.
Looking Vanni in the eye for a moment the man would abruptly heave a sigh of relief, practically falling over as a deep tiredness came in to his eyes. "Again...it's happening again...why me...why why WHY all the time meeeee!!" The man whined in a pitch several octaves higher than what was likely his normal speaking voice. Sobbing the frantically gestured with his hands "I thought it was all good...things were working...batteries missing...but things working!" He threw his hands up "...then suddenly CRASH! BOOM! Dry lighting everywhere. Things started exploding, but nothing important. Then they started attacking...how did they even get in!? Was all that earlier them?" The man blubbered and babbled, sobbing several more times before he finally managed to calm down.
When he looked back up at Vanni a smile would twitch on his lips, a weak ironic chuckle rumbling in his throat. Reaching out with a gloved hand he'd rather abruptly touch the girl's hair, flicking and wiping something away. Although she'd been in no position to notice, it would seem that during her own departure two Joltik had chosen to stow away on her head. While one had begun artfully crafting a small web between her ahoge and head, the other had stood striking a valiant pose atop the defiant piece of hair.
"Annoying little buggers" The man muttered, his brow briefly furrowing and knitting together. "Now then..." He stated, dusting himself off as he stood "I'm the head Administrator of this facility...as you can tell, we have a bit of a problem. I'm not certain how they got this close to the academy unnoticed, but it seems we've got some rebels about." Moving passed Vanni the man would go back to the door, opening it a crack and peering outside for an instant "As you might guess the people here are merely workers and scientists, ill equipped for a fight, and it'll take the Academy proper some time to notice there's a problem and send help."
"That's where you come in" The man stated, turning back "Your a student, and as a result the closest thing to a solider we've got right now aside from the gate guards. We need you to go out there and...play tag with these rebels. Take out as many as you can by any means. Get their attention and then head towards the primary relay tower outside of this facilities main building. If you can get them to follow you there...I have a plan which should keep them busy long enough to get help."
"Any questions?....oh...and if you need medical treatment" The man gestured around the room, and although it was small as well as dark, it appeared to be some sort of nurses office "I'm sure I can manage something."
Recalling the somewhat disgruntled Growlithe from her chest, Vanni glanced around as the tub lifted her through the air. Those noises didn't sound exactly appropriate for a sewer... but before she could finish her thoughts, she found herself yanked back, silenced and completely thrown off guard. She struggled briefly, contemplating smacking her captor with her hand, but the loud explosions and sounds of a proper battle made her wary.
When she was released, Vanni's hand instantly went to her purse. Teach them to kidnap small, innocent-looking girls! But her eyes caught sight of the insigna on the man's chest, and she relented. He seemed to be in the throes of some kind of breakdown. Vanni tilted her head to the side, watching curiously. Folks didn't generally like having their panic attacks interrupted, so she chose simply to watch and wait for an opening, a sign, and for tips on her next psychotic freak-out.
As he calmed down and reacted out for her, Vanni bit down the urge to flinch; deranged adults touching her was generally a bad idea. But her merely brushed away a couple of stowaways who seemed to find her stupid hair irresistible. That matter being settled, Vanni listened as the man gave her the run down-- no longer a glorified plumber she was, but rather a soldier. Or, from the way he told it, a distraction. Playing tag... a slightly rueful smile graced her lips. All right, she could make it a game. That's what Momo would have done, wouldn't she? Briefly, she wished the pink-haired girl was here-- she had no idea how good of a fighter the other trainer was, but some back-up would have been greatly appreciated. Even the dour-faced Raven would have been a sight for sore eyes.
Snapping to attention, she gave the Administrator a firm nod. "Understood, sir. I'll keep them occupied." She glanced towards the nurse's office, taking a hesitant step forward. "Does that place have the means to heal Pokemon? I'm fine, but my team..." she trailed off, fidgeting with her cane.

Blinking a few times the man looked over his shoulder to the supply cupboard the girl had mistaken for an doorway. "Yes yes...I'm sure I can figure out something" He half-muttered, proceeding to the cupboard and opening it. Rifling through various poorly labelled medical supplies the man would eventually produce a machine which looked oddly similar to a mix between briefcase and waffle iron. Placing it on the table and opening it up would reveal 6 depressions the size of a PokeBall...well...it seemed like the right device anyway.
Well, might as well. The man seemed a little nuts, but she might as well go with it. Opening up her purse, she pulled out her six Pokeballs and placed them in the appropriate niches. Hopefully, it wouldn't evaporate them or something equally confusing.

Closing the device and plugging it in, the man would press a button and turn the device on...electrocuting himself in the process. When it was complete however a familiar ding would sound and the balls would be returned to Vanni.
Nothing quite like questionable technology! Still, despite the Administrator's mishap (was his hair sticking up even more?), her Pokemon seemed all right in their balls. Gingerly, she picked them up and placed them back in her purse. She took a deep breath, steeling herself. "All right, ready. Distract them, and try to lead them to the primary relay tower." She seemed to be confirming this infomration to herself as much as with the older man.

The Plant Head would simply nod his head, gesturing towards the door. Outside Vanni would see a large number of men in strange white uniforms sub-doing the various plant employees who'd lost in battle. Most of them seemed to be moving deeper in. It was now or never!

Vanni stood for a moment, biting her lip. Honestly, she hadn't planned this far ahead... how was she supposed to these rebels to notice her? She was about a foot shorter than any given worker and generally assuming despite some people's report of her as "creepy" For a moment, she debated on a Pokeball, before calling out one of her newest acquisitions.
Makoto shook her head, coming to in reality for the first time proper. She stood at attention, looking up at Vanni eagerly. Her mother and fellow do-goer had called her forth, and they would fight crime! Or at least, she was assuming the explosions she heard were crime. They sounded most nefarious! She bounced in place, cracking her knuckles.
"Yes, yes, justice," murmured Vanni, thoughtfully, tapping her finger to her lips. Now that she had some reinforcements, what was she supposed to do. Deciding it couldn't hurt, she tapped into her other half, who'd been listening ever since the Joltik horde had been dealt with. How do we get people's attention?
I don't know! the voice squeaked, her tone between mortification and indignation. I don't know if you've noticed, but you exist because I don't WANT attention! What did Auntie say to do in situations like this?
If one wishes to gain the favor of a gentleman, it is generally best to let him come to you, lest you be seen as unladylike and forward, Vanni parroted back in the best mental impression of their aunt's voice. However, in extreme cases, it is acceptable to approach the gentleman in question in a polite and graceful manner. Request something of him in a demure and retiring fashion; men enjoy being seen as providers for young ladies. Asking him for punch or if you may have this dance are reasonable queries and should get you far in any social setting.
Wonderful, the voice grumbled-- had she been in control of their body, she would have no doubt crosses their arms and glared. That's useless! This isn't the gala, or haven't you noticed?
Ah, my dearest heart, Vanni remarked with a slightly predatory grin. One may alter the details given certain problems... Carefully, she lifted her cane and gave it an experimental twirl.
It took a moment for the voice to catch on, but when she did, a surge of panic spiked the back of Vanni's mind. no no no no NO
"DANCE TIME!" trilled Vanni as she swung out with her cane, aiming for the back of the nearest man's head.
Makoto punched her fist in the air. /PERCUSSIVE JUSTICE!/
Unfortunately for the girl the height of a young girl and the man suddenly straightening at the sound of her voice would cause the blow to fall short, cracking against his spine just below the base of the neck. As a result he wouldn't merely crumple at the girl's blow, instead releasing a surprisingly shrill cry of pain and a series of curses. The bright side, if there could be such a thing with so much smoke in the air, was that it caught the attention of every person in the area. All eyes were upon Vanni, and for a moment they hesitated. Clearly no one had expected to see such an oddly dressed child here of all places.
At the moment between her strike and all eyes falling upon her, Vanni made several quick, decivise moments. She spun on her heel, planting her cane on the ground. The moment placed her with her back directly to the rely tower-- who would blame a young girl for occasionally retreating backwards as she challenged rebels older and stronger than she? For a moment, she considered switching Makoto for Culann-- the dog could probably move fast, and if she needed, she could lean on him. But that could wait; for now, she needed to finish engaging them. "Didn't you hear me, boys?" she said sweetly. "I want to fight. You wouldn't keep a pair of ladies waiting, would you?"
Makoto inched towards the nearest rebell, cracking her knuckles.
