"Wán de kāixīn..." Emma replied as emotionlessly as she always does. "The clinic isn't my favorite place to be, just a fair warning. The nurse can be violent when you try to leave early." Emma turned her icy glance towards Fenrir and shook her head. "Bèndàn ma? Wèishéme yào péiyǎng tā?" Emma moonsaulted herself right over to Fenrir, cutting her simulation short as she did so. "It just seems...unlike you. I don't recall you ever being too generous." Even without emotion, Emma found a way to sound smug. "Well, I didn't jump over here to bother you about who you train. When it's your turn to fight out there...you'd better win. Otherwise the two of us are going to have a problem." Emma didn't know how she'd react if somebody defeated Fenrir before she got her chance! Third times a charm after all, one out of three wasn't bad at all. Emma herself...she was ready for her fight, she wanted a chance to beat down her opponent for the second time in a row. "Think they'll let me 'accidently' kill my enemy? I'm getting sick of seeing his face."

Fenrir stood where he was and glanced over at Emma once she was finished with her flipping around. "I'll win, but to be honest I can't promise anything. I don't know anything about the guy, or his power level. I don't even know what styles he uses. Its very possible that this Tyler guy is on a completely different league from us." Fenrir then looked down and away, realizing that entering this whole tournament may've been a mistake. "And I accepted his challenge anyways, knowing that it was probably a trap. It was foolish. So, the only thing I can do is train myself as much as possible and hope I'll be ready for whatever he throws at me."

"Learn to pick your battles. You can't just charge in to everything half-cocked." Emma laughed, on the inside, at the double entendre. Emma balled her left hand in to a fist, she punched Fenrir lightly in the chest and nodded. "Just do what your normally do then, I can't imagine you losing because you were unprepared...Leader. Let me just say one thing..." Emma smiled just a tiny bit. "You're a dumbass. A decent leader, I suppose, but a dumbass all the same." Emma snapped her fingers in front of his face. "Hey! Look up! Don't you make that face." That kind of body language, along with his expression showed doubt, and as a leader Fenrir wasn't allowed to show doubt, at all. "It's a single mistake, you aren't allowed to be down yet." Despite her lack of emotion, she was able to show passion for battle, as she'd always done. "Besides, what's done is done. There's no need for hindsight now. Don't think, feel...or something like that." Emma took two steps back, balled both of her hands in to fists, and hit them together a few times. "I can beat some confidence in to you, if that's what it takes. But I've stalled you for long enough, so train hard." Emma left the training room for now, waving at Fenrir as she left.[/exit]

Fenrir glanced at Emma again. "I'm just being realistic. We don't know what we're dealing with here." His stare seemed to intensify, as if taking offense that Emma would assume he was doubting himself. Fenrir was never like that, though he never appeared to be particularly cocky either. He was always at the right balance between being hot and cool-headed, confident in himself but aware of the realities around him. Still, what Emma said had pissed him off to some degree. He suddenly felt like he had something to prove. "All the same," Fenrir added, and his jet black hair seemed to stand on end as small sparks of blue electricity zipped across his body. "I don't lose."

Emma stared blankly at Gunner for a second, and then she blinked. "Okay, I'll bite. What is this, and how do I use it?" It was...strange, and the computerized face was creeping Emma out just a little bit. She, honestly, couldn't tell what it was, even if she tried.

"This is Elton." Gunner replied gesturing to the face on the wall. He almost looked something like zordon from the power rangers, just a large visual face that looked down at Emma. "He's an A.I. I created to reach beyond the normal human intellect and answer the big questions. Like a formula for everything in the universe, what the purpose of life is, what is the secret behind dark energy? Those kinds of things. But I can never seem to be able to get him to focus. So I was hoping a fresh perspective will give different results."

Emma decided if she was going to ask questions she might as well start off small. "You need to limit infinity to give it an actual 'size', so is infinity really as infinite as they say it is, Elton?" Emma crossed her arms, hoping for a satisfactory answer from the machine.

Emma seemed taken aback for a second, and responded without thinking. "Hùn zhàng..." She muttered darkly under her breath. "Is there any truth to metempsychosis? If there is, would our metempsychosis be affected by the collective unconcious?" Emma would never figure it out herself, and neither would anybody in the world, so she was curious as to the answer. "Jīngrén, it actually worked!" Emma seemed delighted by the turn of events, even though she wasn't so sure about this things attitude. "How is it able to answer questions beyond human intelligence? You didn't pre-program these answers, did you?"

Again the A.I. considered Emma's question before responding. "Experience after death has never been recorded, there are no words to describe its significance accurately. Yet there are unexplainable energies at work that may hold influence over such possibilities. Ki. Chi. Chakra. The Anima. The Soul. You meat-bags have numerous names to describe what might scientifically be referred to as psychic forces, a fifth force in the universe. Evidence of such a force within every meat-bag suggests an energy that carries on after death, leaving its dead meat-shell behind. Where it goes varies. What it becomes varies. Why it varies...varies."
A sudden spark of electricity shot off from the wall, like a malfunction of some sort. Gunner raised an eyebrow at the machine, and then glanced at Emma. "No, you can't pre-program stuff like this. I merely created a sipher for all recorded knowledge in history that selected the most noteworthy and "true" findings, and then fitted them all into a single audible program with human features and speech functions. So, basically imagine it as Wikipedia without all the bullshit, and all in one consciousness. I've found it does exceptionally well with factual information, but it has a bad habit of tearing itself apart over the more philosophical questions."

Emma's right leg slid backwards, as if she were planning to back up. "It won't explode, will it?" Emma wasn't the biggest fan of explosions, so she was just going to stand over near Fenrir if something blew up. Maybe she could use him as a shield if that's what it came down to. "Explain synchronicity to me." Stress testing. Emma was stress testing it, but she wasn't trusting standing close to it right now from what just happened. Emma listened to Gunner's explanation and nodded. "Impressive, though, I think I can understand why it doesn't mesh with philosophical questions."

Explaining a concept was a simple task for the A.I., and it quickly replied back to her. Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events that are apparently causally unrelated or unlikely to occur together by chance, yet are experienced as occurring together in a meaningful manner. The concept of synchronicity was first described in this terminology by Carl Gustav Jung, a Swiss psychologist, in the 1920s. The concept does not question, or compete with, the notion of causality. Instead, it maintains that just as events may be grouped by cause, they may also be grouped by meaning. A grouping of events by meaning need not have an explanation in terms of cause and effect." Fenrir continued practicing his technique. He still had a ways to go before he could master it. He kept trying though. Fenrir continued throwing the training partners spawned through the room. They came in handy with his training. For the time though, Fenrir practiced the upward flip swing, which was becoming the most difficult stunt of the technique.
