My Story - My History
The Colt was very young when his mother was killed and doesn't remember much, she had a lovely red mane long and flowing, while his was curled. His mother had always said he'd gotten the curls from his father, who left them a long time ago. The Mother and son lived by traveling seeing new places and faces one day they stopped at the edge of the desert. Surprised about how fast it was the Colt went away from his mother to play...
Happily content he returned to her, he called, as he approached where she was supposed to be. There was no answer.... She had never not answered before, Panicked he ran over to where he remembered she had been standing a giant pool of blood similar to his very hair color with his mother's corpse mutilated and torn in the middle as though by a savage. Her beautiful mane ripped out nowhere in sight. As though some sick creature had taken it leaving the corpse for the predators.
The sight before him caused him to stumble as he gently, fearfully called his mother's name slowly inching forward in a dazed shock. His legs crumpled ad the edge of the blood pool and he fell toward the ground. Simply staring, he could hear something but faint distant was it his name? the colt couldn't tell. He couldn't even remember why he was sitting there anymore, or who he was or who the dead mare in front of him was he knew she was important... but he couldn't place her. Was it his mother?
He sat there for hours days weeks he wasn't sure, a black mare with a golden curled mane came and took him away from the place and gave him candy and toys, the further he got the more he forgot. The mare had taken the colt as her adoptive son, and he had taken her as his mother.
But terrible memories have a way of whispering in the dark always remaining even if forgotten for a while.
