Reglare Excile Hey Kutai, I asked Jon if you were willing to trade an amulet, were you the one to gift me one? <.< Anyway, if that person is able to see this, I thank you for the amulet. :3 Now, I'll just have to hunt you back and gift something back. >D Wow. That's extremely kind of them. Good for you. :}

I have to say, they're like the most useless item on Gaia, but I know I like getting them in real life, so I just hope it's taken well by the other party... Aja. (Their fault for not having a wishlist. My fault for not seriously, seriously putting time into looking for something they would enjoy.) Make your status a "ANON, I LOVE YOU. <3" Aha. Hope you get an "I love you too!" message from whomever it was.

Actually, I was just going to trade a bundle for an amulet so if I was going to catch who that person who gifted me the amulet I would have gifted the bundle back. :3 Not sure if that would be a good thing though, since my love one might mistake that for me loving someone else somehow. x3 I doubt that though but still. o3o

I've had people be misfortuned that shall be a word too enough to give me stuff I already had, even though I do keep my wishlist updated. I secretly send them as gifts much later to someone else.
And I love flowers. Those aren't useless in any way.

If keith was here, he'd be scared out of his mind. Someone mugged him with a bedsheet once. I told him living in a graveyard was a terrible idea.

Being quiet in here, aren't we? sweatdrop

I took this a while back, but is this a glitch anyone here is already familiar with? Seems like an unfortunately simple problem, but one I hope won't hurt the atmosphere of DMS... whee

You put pre-render monsters on, didn't you? And you were having a busy connection during loading, weren''t you? Or maybe the server was... Yeah, that happens when you load a "picture" and it isn't fully loaded. A bit back, pictures would load in lines going from top to bottom. Now, they go for a much better approach: Load the picture with shitty resolution and then keep loading the chunks with progressively better resolution until you have everything. If that happened a few years back, you'd be seeing monsters only torso up, instead of blurred ones. Anyone that ever loaded large porn pictures knows exactly what I'm talking about for knowing the feel of growing anticipation of seeing the whole picture already (or seeing boobs the speech bubbles become round instead of square-ish blurbs of color). That's not a "fix-able" bug, as in, it'll happen for as long as server-client delay exist and you can't kill that - LAG IS IMMORTAL. But you can fix it by... refreshing everything and going to the loading screen to get the monsters again. Why would it never happen with pre-render off? Because you'd be rendering each individual monster in real time to your screen from your own flash environment. Avoids silly memory issues like that, but you're gonna get a lot of animation lag on bad computers instead. You should make you consider yourself lucky that wasn't the area itself that got blurred. gonk

When you have pre-render on, it renders a raster form of the animations based on their vector forms. As you know, vector forms scale to any size, easily - rasters, however, don't. The above glitch occurs when the animations pre-rendered at one scale, and displayed at another. Go to BB (Full), head to the Ferris Wheel, and refresh - and make sure pre-render is on. Some of the enemies (as you can see in the image, the Sand Fluffs weren't affected) will have loaded much smaller raster forms, but the game will stretch those to the 'appropriate' size for the new scale anyway.
What worries me is that I believe DMS has maps of varying scale in it; if the first room is on a larger scale than the rest (or if a player refreshes in a larger room), players using pre-render could wind up experiencing this inadvertently (whereas currently, you kinda have to try). It seems like it might be a rather simple fix (to render them all at the area's smallest scale, then 'stretch' them down instead of up), but that doesn't mean they've necessarily noticed the issue... whee

Oh, you can reproduce it. Then I must believe you're right, it's something like that instead. Who would have guessed that zOMG! would do some animated expansion one day. I do recall JK mentioning a graphical issue he did not know how to solve on DMS... uh, do you think...? I mean, refreshing in the DMS before the crypt area is not a farfetched possibility. Allthough, I must wonder, why didn't this ever happen with labtechs in the Sealab if you refresh in the crystal p***s corridor? edit: wait Sealab zooms out, not in. I thought this the wrong way.

Luckily (or unfortunately), I believe the Crypt area will be of equal or larger scale than any of the preceeding rooms, so I don't think we'll see too many 'Kamila Gone Wild!' threads pop up because of it. sweatdrop
Still, it could be a little jarring for players who aren't aware of it in advance (and if I hadn't seen it before a couple weeks ago, and you weren't familiar, it's probably reasonably unknown), and I'd hate to see new glitches becoming the focus of DMS, right off the bat; zOMG! has a glitchy-enough reputation as it is, and the first new content having such an obviously visible glitch present surely wouldn't help... whee

Went ahead and brought it up to [ JK ], briefly; he said he wasn't aware of the issue, but doesn't suspect that it'll prove relevant to DMS. So, no worries! sweatdrop
He also said he'll talk to swarf about looking into it (since it's the pre-render function that'll need to be modified), once they start work on BB once more... 3nodding

The community sounds like they're down on their knees again. We've done it before, we can do it again. What should we do to cheer people up?
EDIT: I'm thinking of taking drawing requests of users' favorite zOMG! Animated. Do you guys think that'd work?
