"It'll be a pleasure getting to know you then, Dimitri," Mrs. Fields said with a sweet, "However, my husband and I need to get going. We were going to go out and see a play but decided to drop by and see our granddaughter before we enjoyed our evening."
"I'm guessing the Phantom of the Opera is in town again, isn't it?" Arielle asked with a small smile, knowing that it was one of her grandparents favorite performances. She herself had never actually gone but she knew that she would be able to someday.
Her grandfather nodded and kissed her forehead, helping his wife up and smiling at all the kids in the room. "Nice seeing you again Kedrick and Maria, and as for you Dimitri, I look forward to getting to know you better. Take care and we'll drop by at Kedrick's soon. Goodbye everyone."
Maria and Arielle waved as Arielle's grandparents left her hospital room. It was so nice to see them again and Arielle could tell that they seemed more at ease now after the whole situation with Jonesy had been dealt with.
"So we have so many amazing things planned!" Maria exclaimed happily, settling herself on the edge of Arielle's bed, "A dinner with friends at the latest Japanese Habachi restaurant and a HUGE barbeque. This is just too good to be true!"
Arielle giggled and nodded with a smile before looking at Kedrick, "Your sisters wouldn't mind coming, right? I mean, I know Raine would be shy of most of the adults, but, still. Oh, and I still have to patch up Rags for you."
"Who's Rags?" Maria asked curiously before her phone rang. She picked up and was soon in a conversation in Spanish. There were times when she spoke quickly and other times when she slowed down. Arielle could only pick up a few words every so often, but she couldn't match up with Maria's speed. Maria hung up and sighed before looking back at Arielle, "Just my cousin wanting to borrow something from my room. Now, back to my question. Tell me the ENTIRE story."

Kedrick Suwa
Dimitri smiled and quietly thanked Mr. and Mrs. Fields as the left. He was surprised to find that, though he could breath a little more freely now, he was sad to see them go. He sat down on the edge of the bed opposite Maria, looking at her with a smile as she talked excitedly.
Kedrick laughed softly. "I'm sure they'd love to come." He said, his excitement mounting, the best remedy for a bad situation was smiles and exciting plans. "You're right, Raine might be a little shy, but believe it or not, she does get over it eventually." Kedrick said, reflecting on the times they had put Rain in a crowded setting. She would be quiet as a mouse for the first half hour, but then she'd fine someone her own age, or someone she felt she could trust, then she's open up and develop an almost bubbly personality. Kedrick listened as Maria babbled to one of her cousins in fluent Spanish. "Rags?" He asked, his cheeks coloring ever so slightly. True Arielle thought it was cute but he wouldn't put it past Maria to tease him ruthlessly about it. "Rags was a...an old toy rabbit I had when I was a kid....Arielle fixing him up for me..." He admitted, rubbing the back of his neck.
Dimitri smirked, then broke into delighted cackles. Kedrick gave him a dirty look.

"And don't worry Ari," Maria said with a reassuring child, "A lot of daddy's men are the best this city has. And just about a third of them have kids so yeah."
"That's good," Arielle said with a small sigh of relief, "I just... I just didn't want her to feel uncomfortable or anything. But as long as she enjoys herself, then it's all good."
Maria nodded and listened to Kedrick's explanation of Rags. In all honesty, she found it cute that he still held on to his old stuffed animal from his childhood. She had a few of her favorite childhood toys or items that she refused to throw out or give away. Bunch of fairy tales and a few old dolls, but they were still precious to her.
When Dimitri started laughing, Maria only rolled her eyes and smiled. "Don't worry, Kedrick. Some people just don't understand the value of childhood treasures," she said as she playfully punched Dimitri, "I'm really glad that Arielle's going to fix him up. I can't wait to see him when he's all better."
"I just hope I don't mess up," Arielle said worriedly, "The last time I patched up something was... Well, it was about a year and a half ago. With your plush teddy bear, the one you got from that one store."
Maria's face brightened up at the memory. She and Arielle had gone to a famous stuffed animal shop downtown with Maria's aunt to get a reward for doing so well in school. Maria, who was eight at the time, brought home a cute medium sized teddy bear while Arielle picked out the same sized stuffed animal, only it was a stuffed chipmunk.
"I remember that day," Maria said, her mind still on the memory, "And when I came over to your grandparents, we would always play with Elsie, Topi, and Cremé."
"Cremé was Maria's stuffed bear," Arielle explained with a smile, "And Topi was my stuffed chipmunk. We would bring them with us to every slumber party we ever went to when we were younger. I haven't seen Topi in awhile though..."
"I actually found him," Maria said with a smile as Arielle looked at her in surprise. Maria remembered that Arielle had been missing the stuffed animal for about three years, right around the same time that the stuff with Jonesy began. "One of my baby cousins took it off with them when they came out of town. It was a coincidence that I found Topi again not too long after that. However, I kept forgetting to tell you that I found him, but I'll make sure to drop him off when I can."
Arielle smiled and hugged her friend, ignoring the pain in her right shoulder. "Oh Maria you are the greatest! What would I do without you?"
Maria giggled and shrugged her shoulders lightly. "The world will never know."

Kedrick Suwa
Dimitri stifled his laughter long enough to give Maria a mock injured look for punching him before chuckling softly again and listening to Arielle's story. He pawed though his mind to try and remember if he had ever had a favored toy. He was sure he had at one point, maybe when he was very little, but he couldn't call it to mind now. Dimitri remembered, that off all things, reading was one of his favorite thing to do. It might seem odd, because of his personality you may not have guess that when given the choice between playing with toys or reading a book, young Dimitri would have always opted for the book.
"Topi?" Kedrick asked with a small smile, "That's cute, though I wouldn't have expected it." He admitted honestly, and suddenly, Kedrick didn't feel so embarrassed about Rags. After all, he had been a dear childhood 'friend' so to speak. Sometimes, with no other boys in the house, in the years before he had met Dimitri, Kedrick would play for hours with Rags as was evident from the damage he had sustained. The old black rabbit with it's little button eyes had endured many afternoons of play time, and many nights of being hugged close, squashed or laid on. Kedrick smiled slightly, remember one night when Athena had gotten a fever. Against his mothers wishes for them to all stay out of her room and let her rest, Kedrick had sneaked in. He had made himself comfortable at the foot of her bed, talking quietly to her, and offering to let her keep Rags for the night. The ill girl had agreed and Kedrick tucked her in, Rags held tightly in her thin arms, kissed her on the cheek, and slipped out, easing the door closed behind him. Kedrick shook himself out of his thoughts, glancing up at Dimitri. "What about you Dem?" He asked with a small smile, picking a safe, less easily misunderstood nick name. "Any special childhood toys?"
Dimitri shook his head. "Nope, none for me," He said, a faint smirk touching his lips. "I never like playing with toys, or at least, not in my memory, I was a reader." He admitted with a soft laugh.

"Are you saying you've never expected me to have a stuffed animal, Kedrick? Arielle asked in a mock tone of hurt, "I can't believe you would never think your girlfriend had adorable stuffed animals that were adorned around her room." She giggled lightly and could understand why it might have surprised him. Arielle was never one to really to play with dolls or anything as much as the other girls, considering the fact that she had grown out of dolls early, but when it came to stuffed animals, she treasured them dearly.
Both girls were surprised when Dimitri had admitted that he was more of a reader when he was little than one who would play with toys. Then again, not every child in the world would always play with toys.
"Well, you learn something new everyday," Maria said with a soft smile.

Kedrick Suwa
Kedrick laughed softly at Arielle, finally beginning to feel like things where back to normal. "Okay Dimitri," Kedrick still determined to find out something about his friend that would relate to precious childhood belongings. "Since you didn't have a favorite toy, what was your favorite book? You couldn't have been reading novels and text books when you where little right?"
Dimitri smirked dryly at Kedrick, sighing softly and scratching the side of his head. "Well..." He said faltering slightly. "There...there was a book, called Zack's Alligator. It was about a kid named Zack who go a package from his uncle in Florida with a note and an alligator key-chain in it. When he put the key-chain in water the alligator would grow into a real alligator named Bridget..." Dimitri trailed off for a moment, feeling ridiculous for explaining a children's book to them, but unexpectedly happy. "It was just a cute story about all the silly adventures this kid got into with his pet alligator...but...but it was my favorite." Dimitri admitted with a small smile, pulling up legs up onto the bed and resting his elbows on his knees.

Arielle Shore
Maria and Arielle listened to Dimitri answering the question that Kedrick had asked. They listened in interest, never remembering hearing of such a story as that. Maria had always been one to read mystery novels only because it interested her, even though her family would joke about it being the fact that it had to deal with her father's occupation. Arielle was always one for fantasy, science-fiction, or even a mixture of both. She remembered her Club W.I.T.C.H stage where she always believe she would become a beautiful magical guardian of the veil.
When he finished, Maria sighed contently with a small smile, "I guess all of us can't help but take a walk down memory lane. Makes you want to stay a child forever."
Arielle nodded with a small sigh. "If I could go back in time, I would...," she paused, stopping herself of bringing back What Ifs about the whole Jonesy ordeal.

Kedrick Suwa
((Though seriously, Zack's Alligator was one of my favorite books as a kid XD))
Kedrick smiled sightly, wonder what exactly it would be like to go back in time. Naturally he had read stories and seen movies where it had happened, and he couldn't begin to imagine that it was even remotely possible, but it was food for thought...actually more like brain candy because there was almost nowhere that this train of thought would take him. Kedrick laughed softly to himself, Chiding himself for going off on wild trains of thought. "You know..." He said thoughtfully. "If we had stayed kids forever we may never have met each other."
Dimitri stared at him, a look of disbelief on his face. "Okay...a little to philosophical for my tastes." He said with a smirk, leaning back on his elbows.
Kedrick snorted softly. "Well, it's not my fault that you're not a deep thinker."
Dimitri winced. "Ouch, that's a little below the belt don't you think?" He asked, still in a playful tone and Kedrick rewarded his mock injury with a smile. "Besides." Dimitri said matter-of-factly, "I happened to enjoy growing up."
Kedrick smiled at him, seeing under his friends light hearted comment a thread of bitter truth. Dimitri wouldn't have wanted to stay a kid, that was for sure. "You know, I'm glad too." He said with a smile, looking over at Arielle, and wondering what in the world he would have done if he had never met her.

(I never heard of that book before D:.) "But just think about it," Maria said, thinking more about the topic, "We would have never met Dimitri or Kedrick if we were always kids. Just thinking about something like that is so weird. A world without knowing either of them... None of our amazing adventures would have existed!"
"The only adventure we had was the Harvest Dance," Arielle said with a giggle, "I refuse to acknowledge yesterday as an adventure..."
Maria opened her mouth to say something but stopped. Even though it certain lights, yesterday could've been seen as an adventure, she could understand why Arielle felt that way. Adventures were always meant to be fun, even if it was going to have dangers in it, she wouldn't want near death experiences.
"If...If we never met you guys....," Arielle said, thinking it over and shuddering at where she would be at had she not met Kedrick.
"I think I still be trying to get a decent boyfriend from all the fails at school," Maria joked with a light smile, trying to get Arielle to brighten up again.
"This sure is an interesting conversation, isn't it?" Arielle asked with a small smile, "Any other philosophical things we wish to discuss today?"

Kedrick Suwa
Dimitri blinked, pleasantly surprised, if not a little confused when Maria mention that she'd still be looking for a boyfriend. 'Dose that mean she's not looking anymore?' He wondered with a smile and an odd flicker of hope in his heart. 'If that's the case, maybe there's hope for this relationship yet...'
Kedrick smiled slightly, thinking of all the things he had Arielle had done together. Not much of what they did at the estate day by day could count as an adventure, but every moment with her was precious to him. From the time he had told her to watch her head on the way out of the pet shop to now, Kedrick couldn't imagine better company.
Dimitri sighed softly, leaning back on his elbows. "You know, the only philosophical discussion I'd like to have is when our next meal is coming." He said with a smirk, looking of at Kedrick.
He snorted derisively, "You can't think of anything but you stomach can you?" He asked with a soft laugh, shaking his head.
Well...." Dimitri said with a sheepish smile.
Kedrick sighed "Alright fine, Arielle should be able to leave the hospital not too long from now, you two can swing by the estate and we can all have dinner together like a real family." He said, looking over at Arielle for approved of the idea. "Of course our hostess will have to be careful of what she eats by you guys don't have to starve."

Arielle giggled when Dimitri answered Maria's question about food. She wondered just how filling her grandparents was just a little while ago, but then realized that he was just one of those few boys who was hungry all the time, regardless of if they had just eaten something beforehand. He is a growing boy, Arielle added in her thoughts with a smile.
Maria nodded to Kedrick's proposition and stood up. "Sounds like a plan and I'll make some food. Just have to get recipes from my house of course and maybe your grandparents for desert. Then I have to go shopping for supplies and make sure I have the right bowls. So lets see, Gazpacho for Arielle and... Well it'll be a surprise for the rest of us."
Arielle smiled and she held onto her stomach like she was hungry. "I love your family's Gazpacho recipe, Maria. I know dinner is going to be fantastic."
"And don't worry Kedrick," Maria said with a smile, "Gazpacho is a type of soup they serve in Spain. So, she's still taking her meals easy but having an amazing dinner."
Even though Maria wasn't as good of a cook as Arielle and her grandparents, she could still make a good meal. Her mind was already planning the Argentinean and Spanish meals she could make for herself and the boys. It would be the first time she would be making a meal on her own without the help of her papá, but if Dimitri was there with her she knew she was going to do alright. Her mind was still busy trying to figure out which meal would work for the three of them when she realized something very important.
"Say, Kedrick," Maria said slowly, looking down at Kedrick after being distracted by different Hispanic and Spanish meals, "How are Dimitri and I going to get in?"
(I already bookmarked links about the different cuisines from Argentina and Spain. They are going to have an awesome dinner~)

Kedrick smiled nodding his head, actually, the soup Maria was describing sounded good. He was actually surprised that Maria volunteered to bring the food, he had though that he and Dimitri would have to scrape something together. "The Gazpacho sound great, I can't wait to see what else you pull together." He said with a smile, briefly wondering if he was saying Gazpacho right.
"Hey Kedrick." Dimitri said, looking over at his with a teasing grin.
"What Dem?" Kedrick asked cautiously, looking at him out of the corner of his eye.
"You remember our attempts at co-cooking?" he asked, that wicked, mischievous glint still in his eyes. Needless to say, their attempts had been less than successful. "You could cook, and I could c-....Uh...well, you could cook." He said his cheeks going at little bit pink. "But it was a mess if you stuck us the the kitchen together."
Kedrick laughed softly. "Yeah..." He said, scratching the side of his head with his index finger. "That wasn't a good scene....especially when the turkey burned...or when the soup boiled over, or when the-"
"Yeah, I remember." Dimitri cut his off with a good natured grin. " I get the feeling Maria's going to be a little better than the two of us combined."
Kedrick nodded his head fervently in agreement, listening to Maria's question about how they were going to get in. "Well, through the front door I hope." He said, smiling lightly at her.
"That's not what she meant Kedrick." Dimitri said with a note of playful disgust in his voice. "Uh...what exactly did you mean?" He asked, looking over at Maria.

"She's amazing in the kitchen when she wants to be," Arielle said with a light teasing smirk, "You just have to get her at the right moments or you would never witness Maria's wonderful cooking skills."
Maria smiled and rolled her eyes lightly, "Okay, okay. You're right about that, but nobody can ever compare to you or your grandparents. You guys are on an entirely different level of cooks."
Arielle was going to protest about everyone saying how she and her grandparents were probably the best cooks ever, when her attention was caught by the boys conversation about their cooking experiences. Both girls found the stories entertaining and couldn't help but laugh lightly at the retelling of it.
Maria felt her cheeks flush lightly as Dimitri had complimented her cooking. She knew he wasn't far from wrong, but she couldn't help the blush or the ridiculous amount of fluttering in her stomach. She didn't seem to get her sense of mind until Kedrick brought up the issue of her getting in the house. "In a sense, I did mean going through a door, but I need a key to get in," Maria answered with a smile, "Or do you want little old me, daughter of the head chief of all police officers, to break into your house?"
"I should have my keys in my pocket...," Arielle said absentmindedly, not even sure if she actually did that yesterday.

Kedrick Suwa
Dimitri snorted softly "Well, you could knock, We'd let you in." He said, sitting up a bit, smirking as usual. There was something about Maria's smile that made his stomach flutter. He swallowed slightly, his brain very quickly beginning to go down different rabbit trails, all of which lead back to Maria. It was Kedrick's voice that pulled him back to reality.
"Hey, you're forgetting something Dimitri." Kedrick called in a playful tone, holding up a finger.
"Yeah What?!" Dimitri said, tipping his head back and looking at Kedrick, his hair falling away from his forehead.
"You don't live at the estate anymore I'll have to let you in." He said, still smiling slightly.
Dimitri snorted slightly, shifting around of he was actually facing Kedrick. "Yeah yeah, But I still may just have that spare key you gave me all those year ago." He said in a teasing tone, reaching into his pocket and pulling a small sliver key off of his key rings and dangling it in front of Kedrick's face.
"Hey give me that!" Kedrick cried, lunging at the key, which Dimitri pulled tantalizingly out of his reach.
"nope! It's mine, you gave it to me!" He said, hopping to his feet and dodging another swipe from Kedrick. He danced lightly to the other side of the hospital room, the key still hanging loosely fro his fingers.
"Only for while you were there in case you were working late!" Kedrick cried indignantly, cornering his friend. Dimitri stretched his arm above his head, keeping it just away from him.
Dimitri ducked quickly down under Kedrick's arm, darting to the door, calling loudly on his way out. "Maria! Meet me at the cross road before Kedrick's estate, I'll let you in!"
Kedrick caught the door frame, leaning out after Dimitri. "Hey! Dem! Wait, come back! I won't chase you anymore I promise!"
Dimitri's head reappeared. "Promise?" He asked with a playfully anxious frown.
"Promise." Kedrick, a grin breaking out on his face as he ussured his friend back into the room.

Arielle Shore
Maria laughed lightly, finding that what Dimitri said made sense until she gave it some thought. How in the world would he be able to let her in if both Arielle and Kedrick would be in the hospital for probably another two hours or so?
Even Arielle wondered how Maria would magically get into the house, especially with her going shopping and buying all the supplies she needed for dinner. She soon learned, as well as Maria, that Dimitri had a spare set of keys to get into the house, Arielle felt a bit more relieved.
Both girls laughed at the boys again as Kedrick was trying to get his spare set of keys back from Dimitri. Kedrick had said something about the reason why Dimitri the keys and Maria wondered what it was all about, her curiosity about Dimitri's past slowing coming back to her. Maria was surprised to see that Dimitri had already left the room so quickly, telling her to meet him at the cross road before Kedrick's estate. For some strange reason, her mind gave it some ridiculous thought of it being a special rendezvous when it was just him letting her in the house.
When they were coming back in, Maria mentally made a list of what food she needed to buy. Since she wasn't making dinner for a big family, she wouldn't need as much, but since those two were growing boys, she probably would still need to make the same amount.
"Maria," Arielle said, "There's already a few ingredients in the kitchen. I can't remember them all at the top of my head but... I do think we needed to take care of the fridge anyway."
"Don't worry Ari," Maria said with a calm smile, "I've got this under control. You know I can do this." She stood up, stretched and headed out the door before looking back, "I'll see you all later. Look forward to a fantastic dinner." She waved with a cheerful smile before exiting out Arielle's room and heading out the hospital.
"I can't wait for my Gazpacho," Arielle said with a small smile, "It's been so long since I had some."
