 Evelyn
Evelyn found herself being lifted into the air by Harata. Flailing, she shook her head.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!”

The dubbed Sentinel watched the two argue while the cloaked woman ran, carrying the smug girl. She knew there was obviously no turning back. The thugs would probably have her horns for a trophy, unless the people who truly believed in her beat them down. She'd rather avoid a riot, though. And she preferred to keep her horns attached to her head.
So she ran with them, slightly behind. Running was hard work; perhaps it was because she never had much reason to run anymore. Oh well. She huffed and puffed and put more effort into keeping up.
"But," she said, sucking in air, "where exactly is it that we're going?"

Harata looked at her. "Do you need carrying too? Eve's so light." She slowed her pace a little. "And we will tell you that if you really are welcome there. If not, I know of one more place. But getting there will not be easy. Tell me, what can you remember?" Then half to Eve, half to herself, she murmured, "Just like him, isn't she?"

 Evelyn
Evelyn crossed her arms and resigned herself to her fate. She could always run from Lorika’s wrath later.
“I don’t know. She’s…she’s…interesting.”

The Sentinel shook her head wearily. The smug one was flailing and shouting, so it was hard to tell what the cloaked one was saying.
"I'm fine," she responded, trying ot regulate her breathing a bit.
"I don't remember very much at all," the Sentinel admitted. "I can recall a huge battle, and that one side had the upper hand.. I think it was my side... But then something happened, and all I get is blackness after that. When I woke up, I was beaten and bruised, and my clothes were ragged. I got a hold of a cloak somewhere and went to Barton. I laid low for a while..."
It was frustrating. She could only rely on vague flashbacks and the rumors of the people around her to gauge just who she might be. But there was never any guarantee.

--- --- "Hey, they're getting away! After them!" Some thugs shouted and the crowd began to give chase.
In a flash, Bapp dashed to the front of the crowd and turned around.
With a smirk, he drew his scythe. And at the end of the scythe, the black bladed chain unravelled itself and began stretching out in all directions, pinning itself into walls and the floor, until it turned into a cage-like structure, trapping Bapp and the thugs within.
"Einzelkampf." He walked forward and gestured to the thugs.
"Let the ladies go, would 'ya? That's what a gentleman would do. If not," He shifted into a stance.
"I'm a more than able opponent, don't worry."
(( May I? ))

“So I cried, and I begged for you to Love me love me say that you love me...” Kyo Christmas Kyo peeked through the hallways searching for Lorika. He wanted to get his assignment for the day without having to talk to the Overseer. He was still upset about his lack of use to the demi-god and didn't want to look him in the eye; which he probally couldn't avoid sense his job was seeing to the Overseer's personal needs. Cautiously he turned the corner and peered out the front door to the temple. He sighed as he saw the sun shine into the Overseer's beautiful white hair. He didn't notice that Lorika was standing next to him until a clam snuck up behind him and tugged on his robes. Picking it up, he gingerly petted it and walked out onto the front steps. "Good morning, what is my assignment for the day," he asked politely while giving a short bow and clutching the clam close to him. THe question could be answered by either person but he was hopping Lori would have something constructive for him. Waiting to be answered he petted the clam and watched the object of his affection scan the area for whatever he could be looking for. Quickly he looked away before he was noticed and stared up into a tall palm tree with an unusually pretty feather leaf. "What's that up there? That can't be a leaf," he said pointing up.
"...leave me leave me just say that you need me I can't care about anything but you."

One moment she was getting combat advice, and the next... Coline stood there, wide-eyed, the events still not quite registering completely into her head. Feeling the drow's hands upon her waist she came upon a startling revelation. This man... this awe-inspiring pinnacle of strength and kindness... wanted her?
Coline could hear her heart beating through her ears. The Captain had just poured his heart out to her, and it was only then that she thought... just exactly what did she feel for him? She had always admired him for being such an accomplished warrior, she constantly felt flustered by his kind gestures, and she did enjoy his company, but... that was all there was, right? Wasn't this all just platonic? But then as she felt the drow shuffle away her hand, as if by reflex, caught his.
"Hah..." she breathed out, releasing her hold suddenly. Coline turned and slowly staggered back towards a nearby desk. She shakily brought a hand up to her face, breathing uneven, the texture of her brown leather gloves pressing uncomfortably against her skin. "This... this is all so surreal." she said in a strangled tone. Her face was an awkward mix of happiness, anxiety, and mostly bafflement. She was losing her mind. "Hah... haha..." she chuckled nervously. "I... I must be dreaming... There's no way..."

Nindyn vel'uss kyorl nind ratha thalra elyhinn dal lil alust. The feel of her hand catching his as he tried to make a retreat was enough to make Jessie's breath catch in his throat. He looked at her in confusion and hope, but as their eyes met she released him, falling back against the desk. He began to breathe again, which was not entirely a good thing, for as the freshly energised blood pumped through his brain he could think of nothing but reaching forward and wrapping himself around the delicate, beautiful woman who stood shaking before him.
But no - he swallowed. She was terrifed and disoriented. If he pressed her too far now, he might lose everything. Still - he stepped forward, heart pounding - she needed to know that he was sincere.
Taking the hand she'd put to her mouth, he gently pulled away the glove to reveal a womanly hand, slightly calloused as one might expect. For a couple of heartbeats, he massaged the toughened skin at the base of her fingers with his own, holding her hand in both of his as he might a baby bird. Then, he pulled the hand up to his lips and kissed it, ever so slowly.
Raising his head to look at her, he tried to keep his voice as even as possible. "I assure you, this is not a dream."
But once again, as before, the words came tumbling out once they'd begun. "I know this is all very sudden and confusing. We've only known each other such a short time - I know. And I-I don't want you to feel pressured, as if you have to please me. And I know you hardly know me, too, and you have no reason to feel anything for me... in fact, you don't know anything about me, and maybe if you did know some things you wouldn't ever want to see me again."
He felt a sudden, strange prickling sensation in the back of his right eye. The hot feeling in his head seemed to create a phantom response in his left... and he was suddenly reminded of the plum incident again, for some reason. He shook his head suddenly as if to clear it - this was not the time - and then, worried she may have gotten the wrong impression, looked back at her. The look in his eye was pleading, he hoped. Pleading, and as honest as he was being. "But... but I'm in the same position. I understand, and I'm confused too. It doesn't matter to me, though. All I know is that I want to learn more about you, I want to spend time with you," he gripped her hand a little tighter "And I want to hold you."
By now, it was not difficult to admit that last point, even to himself. But still, he felt the heat in his face intensify. A sudden, horrible thought crossed his mind - that he was an idiot, and he'd said too much, or not enough, and now he might have ruined not only his reputation but any chance of a relationship he might have had with Coline if only he hadn't been so stupid and gone gabbling it out so suddenly, so soon. The thoughts all came as quickly as that, and they made him lower his gaze from hers... ashamed? Humiliated? Did it matter, now that his emotions had betrayed him so thoroughly?
Those who watch their backs meet death from the front. ~~ Drow proverb
