Gray counted down the seconds.
3...
2...
1...
and the alley was empty. The group was out of earshot. The girl he came with hadn't run, and there was an old metal garbage can right nearby. Perfect.
He made his way up the alley slowly and pressed one hand to the can. He released some of the power building, and the garbage can began to freeze over, not just covered in ice, but turning to ice. The relief from the pain was heavenly.
He managed to walk back out to Lilith. "You alright?"

---
The man in black sighed. Another oppurtunity wasted.
He looked at his hand. Six scars, one for every chance he'd have before taking the fool boy's life into his own hands.
As he watched, one scar became blood red. It faded and disappeared.

Lilith paused. "yeah, are... are you?" She looked around him and back into the alley. "Did.... did you just freeze that trash can?" She lifted a brow as she looked back at him, her mouth slightly open, but there was no fear in her eyes. Only wonder and amazement.

((Uh... I'm gonna go with this... if anyone objects, please let me know and I can change it))

Tansy watched her friends take off after some man some girl was telling them about. She saw them leave, and tried to follow, but for some reason her body didn't respond. 'Move.' She told herself, yet she stood as still as stone. Within moments, she could no longer see them as they rushed off. And still, she felt solid as rock. 'Move!' She told herself. But nothing. Not a finger. Not a feather.

Her vision began to blur somewhat as she felt her heartbeat begin to slow. She watched where her friends had left her before her eyes rolled into the back of her head, and she was engulfed into darkness. Her knees unlocked and she tumbled to the ground, a rag-doll falling off the shelf.

Her eyes fluttered open. Yet she saw nothing. Were her eyes even open? Or was it the darkness that she had now seen twice. It didn't feel the same. There was no emptiness. She knew she hadn't died. Unless she hadn't felt it. She didn't feel the meteor. Had she died once more without being aware? She had to be more observant.

'No. I'm not dead.' And she knew it was true. She was here now. But for what purpose? Had she been brought here by something? Or maybe by someone? Death and Charles was the only thing this dark. And in a sense, she had defeated both..... for now.

She placed her hands against what she could only assume was the ground as she placed her feet under her and stood. She walked in a small circle, and yet she saw nothing but black. She reached out for anything in front of her. She felt nothing. A sate of nothing. A world of darkness. A world created in her mind. Or was it in her head? Or was she really out in the world? What was real? And what wasn't? What was life about? What was death about? Nothing but questions filled her head as she stared into the stark blackness of the void.

The void.

That was a good name for it. She was in the void. A state where nothing effected anything. Where she had free reign to think, and feel what she willed herself to do. Here, she could have all the time in the world to ponder the mysteries of life. Ponder the mysteries of life? That sounded like a good idea.

That sounded like a very good idea. She would do that. She sat herself within her void and crossed her legs as if she were to meditate. She relaxed her body, closed her eyes and began to let her mind wander through the questions no one had ever answered.

On the outside, her body laid in a crumbled heap by the pile of ash and burning embers. The fire had died down, but the building was gone. And nothing of Tansy moved. Unless you paid close attention to her eyes, which darted back and forth behind closed lids such as a ping pong ball in a fast paced match, as her mind raced through the answers to the universe.

((As I said.. It's late here, I'm not getting much sleep from coughing, and I might have a fever. If it doesn't work for you guys, I can change it.... duh.. I think I'm going back to bed for another 12 hours....))

Lily kept her distance steady with Annie, she sent the girl a warming smile as they continued behind Lav. She didn't trust the man, and was more then aware of what he could do. She had seen first hand his powers, and to be honest even though it was similar to Ako's it was frightening to her. He almost killed the poor man back at the pub, there was no telling what other sinister objective he would take to feat his purpose.

At Annie's words, Lily only smiled. Turning her head to better see the girls face as she spoke, she was rather pretty to be someone with acidtic tastes. "Look, don't sweat it. I understand where you come from. Well, I can't say that can I?" she sighed, trying to find a better suited set of words, while she didn't know how Annie -or the others- felt about having their powers exposed to someone they didn't even know. "And don't blame Ako.. I think he was just so excited about his powers he couldn't wait to show someone. To be honest after he showed me he was kinda scared. And he didn't tell me about you guys.. I found that one out on my own." she hoped that it would smooth things over with the girl, the only ones she was aware of who had any sort of power was the man in front of them, the girl with the wings, Ako, and Annie. She suspected the girl pushing the bike had some sort of power as well.. Then it donged on her.

She looked at Annie, then back at the girl. She was obviously a little skittish about something, maybe she did harness some sort of power, and she already knew that the man held a hold over electricity, so why wouldn't she of tried to seek help? She bit her lip, trying to think of the best possible way to let Annie know, the only thing she could think of was her cell phone. Smirking, she took the small electronic device out of her pocket, not wanting the two in front of her to know that she was talking about them and punched out a quick message that she didn't plan on sending.

Annie, don't you find it strange that these two are together? They look nothing alike, and he doesn't treat her like family. She's awfully young to be 'hanging' out with a man his age. she handed her cell over to Annie, hoping Annie would catch on as well. She wondered if her thoughts where right, if the girl did harness some sort of ability.

(I'm actually sort of interested to see where you are taking Tansy with this... )

Annie glanced down at the message and nodded. She had known all that before. Calmly she typed a message back: 'She's scared of her abilities. It is stupid to go along with a strange man no matter how scared you are but she is young and alone...'

Smiling Annie shrugged as she handed the phone back to her, "I'm still going to blame Ako: I suspect he was interested in just showing off to a pretty girl too." Sighing she thought to herself, 'After all you can crush on Tansy only so long before wanting to see if there are other fish in the sea.'

Smiling, Annie walked up to the girl and Leviathan and introduced herself to the girl pushing the bike and bowed her head to the girl, "I'm Annabella by the way. I never caught your name."

Gray's suspicions that she may have been watching had not been aroused, if they had even existed. Anything there was replaced by embarassment for no apparent reason. "Oh, uh, you saw that...?"
It was a little too late to cover it up, he reasoned. Besides, it's not like she knew anything else...
But she'd want to know how it happened. And the past is off limits, right?

---
Any hint of anger couldn't be found on the dark man's face. He could attack the boy now, but...
There's something about that girl. Something that... drives me. Away.
There was no time to waste. The Dark Man needed those notes.
"So that's who I'll be." The man, the Dark Man, didn't laugh. Too stereotypical for any villain.
To start, the man that gave off the most power. The white hair. Study and confront.
Use. Then destroy.

"For the darkness drives him... His name shall be Alias.

"Yeah, I did see it." She laughed softly. "So how did you do it?" She smiled brightly as she watched him intently, her eyes bright with interest and excitement. "Can you do it again?" Her mind was filling with questions to ask him.

Lev had known the cellphone had been pulled out. Hell, he knew about people using their microwaves three blocks out and away from himself. But Lev didn't care, much as he didn't seem to care for human life, and let the two play their game.
If the time truly came, Lev would dispatch of them, quickly and without warning.
A long while of walking and silence, Lev breathing out into the cold air, though no heat rose from his mouth oddly, no plume of white to prove his human origins. Simply empty nothing, his each breath that of the living dead or worse. Of course, this wasn't so, but due to Lev's increased body temperature it seemed his very breath lacked heat indeed.
Lev looked back at Annie, now introducing herself, "Names Leviathan Cortez. Pleasure to meet ya." Lev cracked a painter's grin, only to have it dissipate immediately as he looked off into the distant neighborhood. Lev led his newest pupil over into the nearest cul-de-sac, stretching his arms and yawning. The snow was at an inch now, sticking to the concrete with ease now.
"Almost there Trinity?"

Lily frowned as Annie ran ahead of her, she knew the girl was only trying to lessen the tense air between the three, however she didn't have it in her being to be nice to these people. While the girl seemed harmless enough, she was all to aware that her mentor was not, the man actually frightened Lily a bit.

She bit her lip as the man finally introduced himself. She couldn't help but let a small chuckle pass her lips. Suiting. Doubt it's a real name, but suiting. she thought to herself before putting her small phone back in her pocket, wrapping her arms around herself the best she could. It had gotten cold, so cold her breath came out in small huffs before her sight, she always liked the way the cold made your breath visible. It was a stupid interest to Lily. Then she noticed that Leviathan produced nothing of the sort. Though he was obviously breathing, he produced nothing that gave his breath away. Odd. she mused as she began to rub her arms up and down with her hands, causing small measures of friction.

How long are we going to play this game. the small brunette thought to herself as she looked around the tight knit area of the small community they had been lead into. She surveyed the area for any flaws, and to her surprise she found none to lead this was a trap. She couldn't tell why, but this whole ordeal stank. She didn't trust Leviathan, no she didn't trust him in the least. But for the time being, she supposed that making him her enemy right off bat would get the group no wear in figuring this man at, not only that but she felt a bit of relief knowing that Annie could turn water into acid, she wondered if it was just water, or all liquids but that wasn't relevant at the moment.

Gray found himself actually laughing! He figured he could divulge a bit of the past. "Uh, remember that meteor strike from a while back? I was kinda nearby... things went screwy after that." He rubbed the back of his neck. "But I can do it again, yeah." He held out his hand and clenched it into a fist.
Rainwater collected around it, forming a hard, icy coating. Probably better than showing off his weapon.

---
Alias (as he would now be known) strolled past the pair, looking every bit the pedestrian... except for the trench coat. He hooked his thumbs into his pockets and turned off into the alley, speeding up until he was a little ways behind the group. Hopefully he wouldn't draw suspicion.
The tall man spoke, and actually introduced himself. Leviathan... He mused. Some sort of animal, I believe. A myth, maybe.
He coughed and politely covered his mouth with his scarred hand. Arranged like tick marks, one might mistake them for a tattoo. One might also be wrong.

---
It appears the outer demon may be interacting with others. Wonder how this will go?

Leviathan stepped a little more ahead of the group, almost walking into another streetlight, only to stop and c**k his head to the side, a perplexed dog hearing something interesting.
Lev sniffed once, twice, bared his teeth, sniffed once again. Very animalistic behaviour, but what did one expect from true demons? "I feel it..I feel the flow.." Lev whispered aloud, forbid energy firing through his veins under his skin so brightly that his flesh illuminated and ebbed, back and forth, dark then light, with the beat of his own heartbeat.
"We're being followed.." Lev almost cackled, removing his hands from his pockets. "And i'm tired of it."
Lev turned around, performing a wicked about face, only to sprint at a ludicrous speed, nearly eye wateringly fast, past the three, toward the alleyways of the nearest buildings.
Lev twitched his fingers, electricity flaring up and through his hands, himself now pointing his two fingers together, much like a peace sign but closed.
Like guns almost.
A soft whir began to fill the air, an incessant groan, cicada like and mind numbing. Lights in nearby buildings began to flicker, dim, then die.
Lev wasn't playing around any longer.
"Come out little spider..Coooome ouuut leeeeetle spiiiider..." Lev licked his now blue lips, his eyes whited out, his body a literal furnace of cobalt blue light. "If you make me search for you, if ya make me hunt you down like a lil' rat, boy, whoo!" Lev held his hand up, firing off an incredible blast of blinding lightning, so fast and so spastic that the alley itself seemed to bend from the heat of the bolt, at a nearby dumpster. The dumpster simultaneously crumpled, cringed with an almost human wail, then flipped several times before landing at the other end of the alley with an explosive crash.
"I'mma counting to three."
"One.."

Lily watched as Leviathan began to sniff the air like some sort of dog, his behaviour having stricken her as odd. She stepped back, watching him carefully. Then he mentioned about being followed, that was strange. She looked behind her, seeing no one. As she looked behind her, she watched as Leviathan had sped pass the three in speeds that where.. Well way off the human radar..

"Talk about your mad man." Lily mused aloud, rejoin the other two girls. She watched off in the distance, lights beginning to dim and return. Just as before. She realized now it was Leviathan causing the slight power outages. "Should we wait for him, or return the 'little miss' to her house... Safely?" she asked, looking at Annie, she joined the girl beside her bike.

"By the way, I'm Lily." she said with a smile, "and nice bike" she smirked, Lily was actually surprised it had taken her so long to talk to the girl, she just seemed so skittish and scared at first she was somewhat afraid of offending her but seeing that the girls mentor was now off chasing shadows, Lily at least seemed a bit more at ease. She didn't trust Leviathan, and it made her uneasy to be around him. You only saw him nearly kill a man to death. She sighed, waiting to see what her other two accomplices would like to do. "I mean, if you want to wait for.. Oh what's his name.. Leviathan. We can stop now and wait, or you can show us the way to your house and we can see you off safely. Or... We can try to go after him, thought he seems pretty much lon-" her sentence was cut off by the sound of a crash. She looked down seeing a few alleyways. One seemed to of caught her eye, it flashed like lightening. "Well. Let's just wait here, shall we?" she was somewhat interested to see who was following them after all.

Alias came out from his hiding spot, not out of fear, but more bemusement, like Lev's raving was a source of entertainment. He allowed a small smile to play across his new lips. He ruffled his borrowed sandy blond hair and blinked his crystal blue eyes.
"Woah, now. Truce." He called, and drew close to the large man. Lev literally towered over him.
"Your name is Leviathan, right? I believe we might share... a mutual intrest."
He gave an almost smug grin. He had no idea how hostile this man could be... but he could be plenty hostile himself, if need be.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 21, 2010 6:56 pm

(For anyone who finds Lev's behaviour and spastic choice of action strange, good. Leviathan is legitimately bonofide crazy, and he chooses accordingly to his own purposes. This includes liking people who give off an evil vibe over liking people who are naturally good. Thus Lev is instantly attracted to Alias's ruse.)

Lev held his hand low, letting the surge that filled his very form dim, then extinguish completely.
Lev was not above diplomacy apparently.
"That's right. Keen ears ya got." Lev spit, crossing his arms now.
"Mutual ya say? I ain't step twice in s**t to know what them words mean stranger." Lev looked around a moment, saw that he was all alone with this strange fellow within the alley, then turned back with a grin. "If your looking to gain more power as i am, then we'll need leverage.. You smell like you've got some talents.." Lev gave a head whip backwards, as if motioning toward the group he was leading. "The little girl. She's with me stranger. The other two..." Lev grunted, "One definitely has talents..But the two are acting iffy, like they know what's not to be knowin'."

Annie raised a brow and sighed as Leviathan ran off. It was like babysitting a small child, especially with him shooting off lightening. Leviathan might smell the follower, but Annie could feel it. "Lily," Annie said, kissing the girl on a cheek, "I'm trusting you to take care of the little miss. I'm goin' after him."

She ran after the large man and slid to a stop behind him to hear Leviathan speak about her and Lily. In front of them stood an individual with a aura that was slightly sinister- not suffocating at first approach like Leviathan but bothersome.

Annie wasn't the kind to wait around and she was tired of biding her time. She was ready to lay down her cards. "What do you mean 'they know what's not to be knowin'.'? That we know you aren't a good guy?"

The girl rolled her brown eyes as she crossed her arms and stepped out from behind Leviathan willing to play the game the boy and man were playing, "You two want leverage for your quest in power, huh? If you want anything you two should worry about me first. I'm arguably one of the most powerful meta-humans you'll find."
