Earendil chuckled softly. "Yes," he murmured, "he would. But speaking of new ... you need some new clothes." He poked her in the shoulder. "What are you looking for? You're going to need some ideas before they can help you."

"Traveling clothes," Kaito nudged Lin. "You should get some traveling clothes!"

Speaking of which, he thought, perhaps they should all invest in several sets of travelwear before they went on their trip. Who knew how long they would be gone? Or how rough it would be on their clothes?

Well since they were traveling that made the most sense. She wondered how traveling clothes differed from normal clothes. Though she supposed there was only one way ot find out.

"Traveling clothes it is then," Lin murmured, "Though I have no idea what they look like or how they differ."

So she had no idea what to expect out of them, but she was pretty clueless all around anyways.

"More practical, less fancy," Earendil smiled, looking around for the counter lady again. He switched to High Elven. "Excuse me."

The woman smiled warmly at him. "Yes, my lord?"

Earendil smiled back and nudged Lin forward. "My friend is in need of some traveling clothes," he explained. "Lin, tell her what you're looking for?"

Not that she wore many fancy things Lin mused as she stepped forward and at least tried not to look awkward.

"I just need shirts and pants, but I need holes in the back of the shirts for my wings and the shirts to be just loose enough so I can get them in," she explained.

She lifted her wings up slightly but put them back draped over her shoulder before she could lose balance.

The woman wrote down the information on a sheet of paper. "And the material?" she asked. "Colour and amount?"

She smiled warmly at Lin, trying to put her at ease, since she was obviously nervous about something.

Lin had to think about that, "Spidersilk, white and...."

She tilted her head and thought about it, how many would be good enough for travel? Well the question was, was how many sets did she originally bring with her? Lin settled on a number that was probably two sets or so less than what she had originally brought with her.

She told this to the woman behind the counter.

She wrote down the information, then looked up at Lin one final time. "And intended usage?" she asked. "It will help him to determine how to make it."

She waited, pen poised, for Lin's answer.

"Mainly traveling, but if I also expect to train and fight in them as well," Lin explained.

At least she was sure that was the extent of it, Lin rarely thought of what she used her clothes for. Then again she rarely had clothes for anything else than to be durable for her rough and tumble lifestyle.

The woman smiled and set her pen down. "Then as soon as Rhyki is finished with his current customer, he can take your sizes and go from there. How does that sound for you?"

Her brown eyes were warm, her smile cheerful, and she glanced at the tailor to see how far along he was. "He shouldn't be more than a few minutes longer," she murmured softly.

"Thank you," Lin smiled, "That will be perfect."

She wasn't in any hurry and a few minutes wasn't that long of a wait anyways. She could stand to wait a while.

And indeed it was not long before the tailor was done with the child, and the mother and child quickly left the shop, casting a curious glance over their shoulders as they left. The tailor wrote on a piece of paper, then handed it to the woman behind the counter, who filed it away. Then he smiled at Lin and the others and held out one hand to her.

"Come, come," he said warmly. "I am Rhyki, and what is your name?"

Perhaps he spoke the common tongue because he didn't recognize their races, Kaito's and Lin's, or perhaps because Kaito had used it the day before; but whatever the reason, he did not use the High Elven tongue as everyone else in the city did.

"My name is Lin, it's nice to meet you."

She stepped forward, taking his cues of where to go, since she honestly hadn't done this before. The last time she was measured she was ambushed into it, this was probably the first time Lin had willing been measured by anyone.

Well except after a growth, but it was grudgingly done.

He smiled warmly at her, his dark eyes twinkling brightly. "Here, here," he urged her, tugging her towards a short stool. "Right up here ... now, some full suits, was it? Some sets of pants and shirts, all of spidersilk, all in white?"

He circled her with a measuring tape, quickly taking her measurements, top to bottom, all around. "Arms out, please."

Lin held out her arms without thinking about it. She nodded at what he was saying.

"Yes," she smiled back, he was a very nice person and easy to warm up to even though she didn't know what to say.

"And for traveling and training, so it says," he smiled at her. "It seems you plan on living quite an exciting life. If only we all could do such things - but then who would make our clothes, or things to decorate our homes? But then to some of us, such work is an adventure in itself."

He stood behind her and measured for her wings. "Take myself as an example," he murmured happily. "Where else would I have found the challenge and the honour of seeing with my own eyes a new gift of the Valar, given to the race of Men?"

Clearly he was misinterpreting Lin's wings, but he was quite fascinated by her.
