Syrinne suddenly disappeared.
"I believe you should study a place more before you begin spouting off facts that you simply do not have. No one down here would ever lay a finger on a member of the Brigade. It speaks enough that you choose to, stranger."
"Oh good." She snuggled against him and watched him then let out a squeal of delight as he made his way to the solarium. She could curl up like a lazy cat and let him stroke her hair and just talk. That's mostly what they did these days when they caught a spare moment. "I don't know why I'm so tired all the time. If we hadn't checked I'd just assume I was pregnant and be done with it." Reaching into her tunic she pulled out the letter she'd snagged on the way to the solarium and handed it to him. "Came from my parents. Want to read it to me?"
"You can always whip them back into shape." She smiled at his question and nodded. "I suppose I can take a night off. What did you have in mind to make?"

He didn't budge while one left and and a new voice showed up.
"My logical deduction was accurate I wager, save for this new information you've just given me."
glancing at the newcomer.
"Does it now. what does it tell you, then, that I would, and could, probably turn his elf here into either a whimpering babe barely able to keep a concious thought not involving pain, or outright kill him...or maybe for more amusement, turn him on his former friends and allies? I'm sure that would prove interesting with proper motivation."
smirking lightly.
"Then again, you don't know it that's bravado, or something I can actually accomplish."

"Do it." Sure it was a scary prospect but he wasn't going to be bullied into giving up information like a little frightened rat. His glare softened some though and he turned his direction of the familiar voice...before giving a salute...followed by a spasm of that arm. Ow. "Princess."
"It's because you push yourself so hard. This ruling business takes some time to settle in to. You're not used to dealing with everyone at once, despite how I keep telling you to just take it easy. Settling down he took the letter and opened it. Which was three pages long. "How about I paraphrase?"
"Something seafood. I have no idea why, maybe it was the knock to the head, but I've been craving it like crazy for three days straight. Now that I'm allowed to eat real food again since I'm not nauseous, I plan to give into that craving."

"Nope, it doesn't." She quirked an eyebrow and shook her head. "It simply tells me you're a stranger to this plane and playing at things you don't understand. You're also overly cocky or unafraid of the consequences of your actions and while I'm fairly positive of the second, I'd also be willing to bet the first." She refused to acknowledge Vale simply because she didn't want to claim her title just yet.
She snuggled against him on the chaise, curled up in the sun. "I've been ruling for a few months now, you would think I'd be able to handle it." And she'd lived with a ruler almost all of her life, too. Had Daddy Kieran really done this much? "Yes, that'd be best, I think."
"I can allow that since I don't cook the swimming things very well by myself." Wrapping an arm around him, she gave him a nuzzle with a laugh. "But after that it's straight back to bed with you. I'm going to give the babies their baths and then I'll join you. We're going to need plenty of reverie to deal with problems tomorrow."

a glance between them.
"Princess, is it. my my, what wonderful news that is. I'm flattered you'd take interest."
before turning back to Vale.
"You enjoy pushing limits, don't you. Oh very well. if I must make you scream to get my point across."
he lifted his hand again, palm facing Vale, and started to clench his hand. At first there was nothing..and then sharp pain along his chest, arms, and legs. like thousands of tiny constantly refreshing papercuts. the more hsi hand tightened, the worse the pain got. papercuts become rolling on a bed of cactus or porcupines.
from that it went to searing pain. like someone attempting to cauterize wounds with a heated piece of metal. by the time his fist was almost closed, it was like being bathed in molten metal.
"shall I stop here, or continue, princess?"

That got his attention, hands gripping to the side bars at the sudden series of pains, trying to keep himself standing despite it all. Not that it was working to well as the pain increased and he cringed, gritting his teeth against it. He knees started to shake before they gave out under him and her dropped to them in the cell, hands still clamped tightly to bars. Vale was hyperventilating by now, trying to force himself to dismiss the pain but it wasn't working. But he still wasn't going to talk. No.

So, he was doing all of this to show off, was he? Yes, overly cocky. She merely crossed her arms, flicked her fingers inside her palms and gave a small grin. "Continue." Of course the stranger had overlooked one very unique concept. He'd used her cells which meant she had some control in this situation. The cell itself could be a bringer of torment by maximizing the pain already inflicted or nullifying any further attacks. She shielded Vale from any further magical threats though the stranger wouldn't be aware of that. He'd still suffer from his current ailments, however. "Show me something with a little more power, if you please."

He knew something was up. he could feel something trigger, something shift in the magic. what it was he wasn't sure. it could be a backlash effect, it could cancel him out, it could weaken what he was doing. or all of the above. so he decided to test it. without moving, just add a bit more force. more then enough to fling him off those bars..and nothing happened.
"Clever. magically fortified cells you can barricade. you must incarcerate a fair share of magical gifted individuals."
of course, without him releasing his spell...the pain wasn't going to stop. and probably get much worse as the noxious effects took root.
"But it isn't all that subtle to one like me. probably not too subtle to the types you'd put in them in the first place. maybe those who are little more then workhorses might not notice though. I'll have to remember this concept."

She merely smirked. "You miss the point of the cages entirely. It is not to stop those inside from using magic or getting out. In fact, if he were to use magic to stop what you are doing, he'd get a rather nasty shock. That makes it all the more fun. He's mine to control as long as he's in there and there's absolutely no way that you can get him back out." Giving a rather sweet smile back to him. "You should know that when you interfere in a land you don't understand there are consequences. What are you doing down here in my Depths?"

After picking away for quite sometime Galesen knew he had to stop, after all Isle was only going to allow Nillrik to be down in the mines for awhile before taking him back to the surface. So gathering his winnings of sorts he made his way back to where Isle was, coming up behind her as he leaned in close to her, brushing up against her to let her know he was there. "Well, I'm good. How's Nillrik doing so far?"

before turning his attention fully to the princess, letting Vale suffer as long as he wanted to keep his mouth shut.
"Knowledge. the boy has it, I want it. simple...considering his ethic background, this seemed to be a good place to pry information from him by force if need be. while general questioning may have worked, I'm not one to give up information that can be used later in some form against me. even a name can be used as such if one knows how."
moving back and settling in his former seat.
"want to take wagers on how long he'll last before he mental or physically breaks?"

Vale had all but lost care for the time being as his brain focused on his pain and tried to escape to a place where he couldn't feel it as well as others discussed his fate...do his worst, that's what he called for and it didn't matter, he was not going to betray what was his life.
Isle was lounging back against the rocks, watching up at the glittering metals and gems still embedded in walls, light bouncing off of them from the braizers and making color and light play against rocks like stars. "He filled half his bucket with gems already and now is trying to pry metals out. Proving harder than he thought."

"Well that's good, but knowing Nillrik he will not leave until he gets at least once piece of metal to brag about." A small smile to that as he sat down with his own bucket filled with gems and stuff. He did not have a full bucket, but enough to say his trip down into the mines was not a waste, he wanted to find some good quality gems, not just the small ones one could find anywhere. Still, the way the mine was set up made it easy and yet gave a good atmosphere to work in; because of that Galesen made a trip down into the mines once in awhile. "Well after this I was thinking of going to shop for a little while, want to join me?"

"One piece will spark bragging and ambition, I doubt he'll leave until the other half of his bucket is full of metals. Shopping hm? Sounds like something fun, and I'm sure Nilli wants to barter away everything he's earned in a heartbeat. Looking for anything in particular?

"oh boy, that may take awhile then." A small chuckle to the thought of Nillrik running around looking for metals and stuff to show how hard he worked at getting them, the boy was a bundle of joy, even though he was older now. "Well then I hope he gets some good stuff by what you've been telling me. As for me, well...might shop for some bait for fishing, and anything that strikes me when I see it and such." He had a few things he wanted to get, but today seemed to be one of those days really.
