"It is a. . . long story," the man told Soren, reaching out his hand to help the other up. "To make it short, that was an ice Sage named Leander who just died, and it seems that there is a God of Chaos who wants to kill the Goddess at the moment." He left out which Goddess it was; as he wasn't entirely sure himself, only guessing.
. . . But that gentle voice confirmed it. "Lady. . . Ashera," he breathed. No. He would stay. As a scion of the blessed Saint Elimine, it was his duty to combat this God who wished to kill a Goddess.

"Library? What are you talking a--OH, RIGHT!" Rhys said a bit loudly, his words cutting through the air like a newly-sharpened Durandal. "Yes, now we actually have a reason to get to that library now. Too bad Tibarn's not up yet, though... oh, and..."
He dropped to his knees.
"Goddess, please watch over the dearly departed soul of King Leander."
He rose just as quickly, having not much to say in the way of a eulogy. All he knew was that Leander wasn't a bad man, just... a pawn, sadly. Nothing more.

Amelia's eyes went up to the ceiling at the ethereal voice floating out from nowhere, curling around to reach her ears. "Saf y. F n s fety. ."
"What is..." Amelia breathed, once again looking with wide eyes. Was someone in the room speaking? Who was that? It didn't sound like anyone in the room at the moment... "Fi d s tey..."
"Find safety..."
Why is the voice broken...? Amelia thought. She cast her gaze over at Renault as he breathed aloud. "A-Ashera?" she squeaked. "Find safety... f-find safety where?" She looked at Rhys, then back at Renault. She was strong, but in the face of a god... Amelia gulped hard and kept herself from showing too much of the panic.

Aran heard the voice, Find Safety. Right now, this was the only safe place he could think of. He went back up stairs to get some food, the fight yesterday left him starving.

After hearing the Ashera say something Melethia turned to Renault. "You hear that Father Renualt?" She asked.

Now quite out of his comfort zone, the boy got to his feet, unconsciously moving closer to the Bishop. "Ashera...Is she to fall to this Chaos?" 」
「 The sage's mind was in turmoil. He did his best to keep up with all that transpired around him, clinging to the holy man's words. He was able to comprehend a bit more, thanks to this man. Wincing a bit, he peered about himself, cautios, "Should you not flee, Father?" 」

"Find safety, eh?"
Rhys glared at the door.
"I'll MAKE safety if I can. I came to this land because I WANTED to. Even if this so-called 'God of chaos' says, 'lawl, Rhys' and beats me with one finger, I'm not laying down without a fight. ...Come on, let's get out of this drafty room."
He put his arm around Amelia's shoulders, guiding them both upstairs.

"No," the bishop told Soren with a sweep of his arm. A determined look grew in his eyes. They had wondered what their purpose for coming here was. And, the bishop was beginning to suspect that this was his. He was the servant of the blessed Saint Elimine. . . and this God wished to destroy a Goddess. If it were Saint Elimine, Renault would certainly protect her; and he would do the same for Ashera. "I cannot flee. It is my duty to destroy unholy things, whether they be demon or God. This is what I must do now."

"What sort of safety can you find if you're up against a god...?" Amelia wondered aloud. She bit her lip hard enough to draw blood, trying to sort all her fragmented thoughts. The god of Chaos is coming... and Ashera is... the goddess of... Order, isn't she...? They'd neutralize each other... Amelia was glad to be out of the cellar. She paused.
"Wait. Tibarn. Tibarn and Ayra. They don't know!" Amelia looked over at Rhys, eyes wide. "We have to tell them, and fast!"

Ed explored the aged corpse of Leander with her nose. She frowned a wolf's frown, for the man had seemed so gentle and mistaken. She'd liked him... Seeing Nino mourn over the man made Ed want to cry, but she'd already spent her tears the previous night.
The wolf sat and somehow, with her paw, made a mark of prayer over herself in respect to Leander.
Her ears perked at the sound of a divine being. Ed turned her head toward the ceiling and sat as still as possible, somewhat disturbed, somewhat contemplative.

"Leave, Melethia." The man's eyes kept the same determination as he turned to face the woman. "I must stay. There is no other way for me. The Lady Ashera is weak. . . she will not have the power to take this one on alone. I will provide Elimine's assistance to her."

But wasn't Yune the goddess of Chaos? But then again she did have other titles. "We can only guess.. When Ashera passed down her Judgement, it turned almost every person alive into Stone, except for certain ones." The fact that Ayra was pregnant didn't make things easier. And it would be very difficult to have to leave Fefgas house completely. Then again, they coud always try the castle.

"Amelia, between the two of us, we've fought... the Daein Army, the Begnion Empire, the Grado Empire, swarms of monsters, the Demon King, and even the Goddess Ashera herself to keep her from petrifying the entire world," Rhys said. "Frankly, I think a god of chaos is just more of the same."
Perhaps he was being a bit overconfident, but Rhys didn't feel as though he cared. It didn't matter if it was a god or mortal--he'd do whatever he could to stop the fiend.
"Tibarn and Ayra? They said they only wanted to be awoken when--oh, right, I don't know whether houses can survive a god's wrath or not. Yes, let's move."
