The man nodded and turned to Kenji who stood at attention with his hands behind his back. "Step forward and tell me what happened." he stated and Kenji took a step forward. He paused a moment they were trained to tell the truth to superiors no matter the consequence but now was not a time for him to do so. "Sir....I am acting this way because my leader prefers it when we are not on duty." he paused and the man looked at him with a strange look. "Under the orders I was given by a superior officer and my squad leader I directly tried my best to fulfill her wishes as such I am doing my duty. The most elite Bushin in the world are trained to fake their emotions to the letter so she is training me to be able to do that. Seeing as she is 9 and I am 12 it is more natural if we act like we are playful than calm or other behaviors." he stated and the man nodded he then turned to Shoko and nodded. "Now why would you lie to me? Did you fear reprimand?" he asked behind the mask his tone flat. "Give me your reason squad leader." he stated in a emotionless tone.

"Sir, I don't fear reprimand I fear you will be disappointed I'm letting him act this way around me instead of the normal way one is to act around one's leader." Even with a emotionless tone the words ment he was getting his patient strained with her lies.

The man looked at the two and nodded a bit. "I see....you are on thin ice..." he stated looking at Shoko before disappearing. Kenji relaxed a little bit as he walked over to Shoko and rolled his eyes. "You know for a 9 year old leader you sure do make a lot of waves Shoko-senpai." he stated walking over to a nearby bag and pulling out something for them to drink. He tossed her the bottle first as was the rules. "Why are you trying so desperately to protect me...and what makes you so insistent on making sure we aren't Bushin all the time?" he asked her as he started a fire and began making them a meal of chicken ramen with what they had. He wondered why the Bushin chose her if she was such a problem.
(I'll be posting one more time after this and then I'm off to bed)

Nodding to the man as he disappeared. "I wasen't till I met that man, I wish he could answer more of my questions. And I protect you cause you've been through enough pain." She sat down but taking out the needle before sitting so she didn't stab herself with it. "I....need to find a reverse side effect to this drug and switch it with others." Tears threatened to swell in her eyes again.

Kenji noticed the tears in her eyes and as the ramen began to heat he walked over to her and hugged her. "Hey...you've been through a lot of pain too, and besides I don't know what pain your talking about." he said he knew about the injuries across his body, but he didn't know where they came from. He also knew she had been holding that drug. "So...what is that..." he asked pointing to the needle and drug she was holding he made sure he was earnest and looked her dead in the eyes.

"It's the drug I stabbed into you that gave you the blackout. I'm...I'm gonna revise it to return your's and anyone else's memories....but I'm still a medical trainee..." She put it down next to her and hugged him back.

He paused when she said that, and he pulled away and went back to cooking. "Wouldn't that destroy the Bushin? And maybe it's best that we don't get our memories back....do you think I want to know what happened to me...right now?" he asked her it was a moral question more than one siding with the Bushin. He was asking if she really wanted to give it to people in order to reveal how much pain that they had been through in their lives.

She never thought about that. Maybe it was cause her curiosity of her parents over-whelmed her. Shoko quivered her lip as tears rolled down her cheek and she dropped her head into her legs. "Wahh your right!" She said to him, her red tint turned green from crying.

Kenji poured two bowls and let the rest simply stay warm as he brought it over to her. He then quietly set the bowl down in front of her. "Hey now...it's alright Shoko-senpai. We can still find out about your family, now here you go...sorry we only have one." he said handing her the bottle of juice. It was specially formulated by the Bushin and was given to all of them for a mission. Also pecking order was established for the remaining bottles the leader always would get it first followed by the subordinates according to who the leader wanted to give it to.

Whiping tears away and looked at him. "No...it makes me too curious and it's true what if both our parents are dead? Or abandoned us?" She ate some of the ramen and when he gave her the bottle of juice she took one a sip. Making sure he got the same amount she did.

Kenji nodded as he took a sip although without her knowledge made sure it appeared he took a sip but he really didn't. "We can find out ourselves if you want. Hey you ever wonder what's in this?" he asked before taking another sip and letting her finish off the bottle he by then had finished his meal. He looked at the needle again and the fluid inside he winced a bit and gripped his head it brought back the recent memory. 'Make him a lower class....we can't afford disobedience...besides he seems to like sacrificing himself.' a memory flashed and soon after he breathed heavily and looked like he saw a ghost.

She finished the bottle and whiped some ramen off her mouth. "I don't know what in it but yes I do wonder.." Looking at him when he winced. "You ok Kenji-kun?"

Kenji nodded as he got up and rid of their dishes. "I'm fine....just..just a bad headache...maybe one day you can find out what's in it" he said as he noticed the shards of the mask. 'Good now Shoko will have a person who doesn't ask questions and her leadership skills can come to fruition. Sir!' Another memory flashed and he basically collapsed onto the ground gripping his head. "So...sorry Shoko-chan...just...memories..." he tried to play it off but he collapsed again and felt like his head was going to explode. Flashes of them interrogating him ran through his head, his head fighting the drug and forcing him to remember caused him a great deal of pain.

Kenji nodded a bit as he walked close to the fire and rested a bit. "Wake me when it's my shift....oh and you called me -kun." he stated as he rested on his bad nodding off asleep though his dreams were reminiscent of the memories of the torture he went through protecting Shoko, the mask seemed to remind him.
