Marie was just standing behind Vlad wishing so badly to be able to do something for them. "Vlad shall I take Princess Ashley back to her room?" Marie asks while thinking, "If I can get her away from Vlad right now then she wouldn't need to anwser anymore of his questions, at least for now. Besides if Miss Ashley is away she'll have time to make an excuse to help explain."

Vlad rubs his chin, "Sure. I have to go see the scouts. They should be returning with information about the enemies movements." He rubs a hand against the wall, "Some eccentric mage must have built this place as a private study, wonder how Harper found it? I'll have to ask him next time I see him." He turns around and leaves.

Nodding her head Marie says, "Princess, please come with me. I'll take you back." Marie stood on one side so Ashley could go by first and she would follow.

Harper hid from Vlad and knew Ashley would take care of Vlad. He also heard that Vlad would be looking for him and wondering how he found the Mage's Room. Until he knew that Ashley, Vlad, and Marie left he hid behind the dresser.

Alaric emerged from a passage inside of the smithy. He was inside the castle walls. He was glad he was so familiar with the structure of the area, or else he would never have been able to enter... He turned left, heading to the door that lead directly to the castle's south tower, first making sure that the secret passage was closed securely before moving ahead.
The door was locked. He didn't like the feeling that was present in the air... He needed to get to Lady Ashley's room as quickly as possible. He hoped all was well... He held the blade reversed, looking at the locked door. He had a duty to attend to.
With a quick motion of his arm he butted the door open with the pommel of his blade. Splinters were sent everywhere as a loud crack echoed through the room. The stairs now lied before him. He hoped he didn't alert anyone to his presence... No one hostile, at least. He kept the blade held in reverse as he ran up the stairs. He didn't want to tire himself out by running in armor such as his, but he had no choice. Determination drove him now.
He only hoped he would be able to get where he needed to go...

Vlad hears a door being broken down as he returns to the castle. What was that? He goes to investigate.

"Hearing a loud breaking and smashing sound, Marie became alert and came closer to Ashley and said, "Miss Ashley please stay close to me!" Marie kept her eyes open and focused on her hearing to see if anyone was near them. Finding a door into the palace Marie opens it for Ashley and motioned for her to go in first. Following closely behind Marie still kept an eye and ear out until Ashley was safe.

A few flights of stairs passed by. He was getting fatigued, but he didn't slow his pace. Soon he was where he needed to be. This door was open already, which meant he wouldn't have to risk alerting anyone to his presence again. He had a feeling he already had.
Alaric held his blade at his side as he entered the doorway. The hallway leading to Lady Ashley's room lied ahead of him, empty. It was quiet. His own breath sounded like the shatter of a thousand pieces of glass. Maybe it was because he was nervous about the whole situation? He couldn't say.
Luckily, as Lady Ashley's personal guard, he was given a key to her room long ago. He walked up slowly to the door to the room, although he was still not all that quiet. Heavy armor like his did not make for a good sneaking accessory. He walked up and placed a hand on the handle of the door, sliding the key into the lock and twisting. As soon as he did he put the key back into the pouch at his side.
He slowly turned the handle, pushing forward gently on the door.
"Lady Ashley, are you here...?" he said, concerned. He saw light coming from her room, but there wasn't any noise...

Vlad can't find the source of the noise, "Great. Well I have to go see the scouts. Then I'm getting a freakin drink and taking a nap." He walks to where the scouts were told to report to him.
