Before the twins could reply again, Adan tore into the room, launching himself up onto one of the few remaining chairs. He had changed out of his wet clothes, and was now wearing a fresh pair of pants - though he was shirtless, though he didn't seem to mind the coolness on his bare skin.
"Hey, where's Feng-chan and Ryu-kun?" he asked, looking around. "I thought they would be here too!"
"They haven't come back from riding with you this morning yet," Amdir replied, raising one eyebrow. "I imagine they would be coming back shortly."

Shiro glanced at the large windows on the other side of the room.
"It's pretty dark out there now," he commented anxiously. "Do you think they'll be all right?"
The fur on the back of his neck was beginning to stand on end, and he had the distinct feeling that a storm was coming on.

"I'm sure they'll be okay," Lin replied, "They're pretty quick when they want to be."
And she would imagine being wet was nothing new to them, in fact that part they were probably enjoying.

No sooner had Lin said that did the two mers come bursting into the home. Feng and Ryu's hair dripping wet, not that they noticed. Under normal circumstances, like when they were not at the Ranch they were wet more than half the time anyhow.
"See, that wasn't so bad," Feng grinned at her brother before heading into the kitchen.
Ryu could do nothing but roll his eyes at that statement and follow her closely.

As soon as Feng and Ryu walked into the kitchen, Adan was back off his chair and pouncing on the nearer of them.
"FENG-CHAN!" he squealed, throwing his arms around her waist. "RYU-KUN! YOU'RE SAFE!"
From somewhere else in the house, a baby's wail rose up. Amdir sighed. "Now you've done it."
"Well at least Mama's already with him," Alyse pointed out helpfully.

While Adan was glomping Feng and Ryu, Shiro was breathing a sigh of relief. He had been told what the storms in this area could be like, and he had been worried for his aunt and uncle out there.
"I'm glad you're safe," he told them with a relieved smile.
Ura offered them a little wave from where he sat, not bothering to draw attention to the fact that he had grown to almost twice his previous height.

Lin didn't even bother to point out it would mean that Aliya would have to take longer since the baby was up again. Poor Aliya, she could imagine that not being fun at all.
Though she did wave at her siblings while she was at it.

Feng laughed wrapping her arms around Adan, she had to giggle for a bit.
"Of course," she grinned, "We got back just in time."
Though she was aware they were cutting it a bit too close for the comfort of some.
Ryu in the mean time waved back at his family members, "Thanks Shiro, we had to run all the way pretty much," he made his way over to the people at the table, "And it looks like you grew Ura."

Ura nodded at Ryu, grateful that his uncle hadn't made a big deal of his growth. But as he looked at Feng, however, he couldn't shake the feeling that there would be no escaping at least one hug and possibly even a squeeze and a squeal from her.
"Now Ura can come with Lin and Adan and me when we go with Aragost-san for a few days in the mountain!" Shiro told Ryu proudly. "I don't have to go anywhere without worrying about him!"

The baby's cries slowly calmed and then ceased altogether, and a few moments later Aliya appeared in the dining room, looking tired but otherwise well.
"Ah, I'm glad you've all made it back," she smiled around at everyone. "It sounds like another nasty one out there ..."
She paused when her gaze lit on the two nekos.
"I haven't met you, have I?" she murmured, sitting next to Alyse and resting her chin on her hand, looking at the boys intently.

Lin thought about it and nodded before pointing to the boys, "That's Shiro, and that's Ura, they're brothers, and they're Elnara's kids. So they're also Kaito's brothers."
Which was a long way of going about it.

Feng looked up at the others and eyed Ura. She slowly let Adan go and before Ryu could protest otherwise she pounced on Ura. In the context that she was the fish and he was the cat it would have been funny only she was hugging him and borderline wanting to squeal.
"Someone became a big boy!"

Ura winced as Feng grabbed him. Even though he had been expecting it, even he had to admit that she was fast - but she was also wet.
"Just a little big," he muttered, squirming in her grip.

"Ah, I see," Aliya smiled. "I take it Ura just grew then? Elnara said that he was just an infant ... but I see that he's taller than Shiro. It sort of reminds me of when Cindy grew ... that was a sight to see."
The same night the cereus had bloomed ... a night to remember, indeed.
"Who's Cinny?" Adwin asked, dribbling some of his drink down his chin and shirt.

"Cindy is my oldest sister," Lin explained.
She had heard of that story actually, the thing that surprised Cindy after not growing for so long. At this point at least she was at perfect height, no more stools for her.
