The sun shone brightly and pierced through Crenu's eye lids despite his efforts to move his head out of the light. After what seemed like hours but was only minutes he gave persistent solar rays and opened his eyes. His neck hurt like hell, he had slept in an awkward position all night and his spine was bent up badly. He stood up and stretched, careful not to wake the man in the cabin with him. Not being one to trust, Crenu checked to make sure he had all of his things and left, eying the man until he was satisfied and left the cabin. The station didn't look much different from the one in Goldenrod, but stepping out into the city of Saleport was an experience like non other. It was very sunny, the people walking around were happy even though they were clearly busy. But what got Crenu the most was the air, the salty breeze that blew in from the ocean. He had never seen anything like it, he had been land locked his hole life and this was something special. Hearing the cries of unfamiliar pokemon by the flocks crenu looked up and saw bird pokemon like none he had ever seen. They were white with blue stripes on their wings, they simply glided, almost like they were just hanging in the clear blue sky. this was Saleport, and even Crenu had to admit that it was beautiful. Leaving the station he found himself walking in sand, something that was also new to him. The sand that Larvitar kicked up was very different from this, this sand was white and it sparkled in the sunlight. Crenu bend over to pick some up and grinned, it was soft and warm, so thin that it ran through his fingers easily and only left him a little gritty. But his feet sank and it was difficult to walk, it was clear that Crneu was not in beach attire. The coat grew hot so he removed it and threw it over his shoulder, he needed to find a place to change and keep his things. In truth, he needed to get some new clothes first. But first thing was first, Crenu wanted to meet up with M.A. and Ky in case they were both already here. As far as he was concerned neither of them had pokenavs and he didn't have their numbers anyway. A city this big with people running around to get ready for the festival there was no way he'd be able to find someone he knew. "Oh well, better start looking I guess." Crenu sighed as he made his way away from the beach and into the town looking for ky or M.A. It wasn't morning anymore, not after Crenu had spent time searching through the town. He wandered over to the museum and made note of it. "this looks like something of interest....but not now. I guess the best place to look now would be the Pokecenter, even if they aren't there then I can at least try and find a place to stay. Nurse Joy might not have any vacancies but she might be able to tell me who does." With that he did his best to memorize the location of the museum via land marks and asked a random sailor for directions to the center before departing for it.

Yeah, Levi scored a hit! Kasiya thought happily, not entirely sure how the Marshtomp had done it, but it was a hit nevertheless. Kasiya had been quite certain that Flannery would have Megu use Recover again and heal the little bit of damage that they'd just done. Stupid Light Screen, she thought bitterly, before doing a bit of quick counting on her fingers. It would fade at the end of this turn! However, her thoughts were interrupted as an enormous fireball came shooting through the smog like a large, flaming comet. Levi's eyes went wide at the sight of it - somehow that Slugma had managed to shoot it directly at her, even through the veil of smog. Doing the only thing she could, Levi threw herself to the ground, closing her eyes and wincing as the scorching flames torched her back. Even her resistance as a Water-type provided little comfort from the intense attack, but at least it had missed scoring a direct hit. The Poison continued to slowly sap her strength, even though it was being countered by the little restoration her Leftovers were giving her. It wasn't enough to cancel out the poison, but it definitely was keeping her going for now.
Kasiya surveyed the situation, noting that Megu's Overheat had left a mighty gap in the smog cloud that had obscured both Levi and Megu only a moment before. "Fight back with a Mud-Slap!" Kasiya said finally. It was a minimally damaging attack, but the technique came with the added benefit of lowering the foe's accuracy. Levi scraped together a bit of muck from the damp floor before scooping it up and hurling it the Slugma, hoping to buy a little time in order for the Light Screen to finally fall.
The downside to using Overheat, however, was that the attack took a lot out of the user, and Megu looked noticeably more tired after the fireball had been fired off. Flannery could have him use Recover to heal his wounds and restore health, but no move she knew of could restore tiredness. Megu looked up as the glob of muck came flying at him, and he was too sluggish to evade it. The spray of mud covered his entire front, including his face, and bits of smoke sizzled up from his body as the molten lava caused immediate evaporation of the small amounts of water trapped in the mud. "Megu! Give 'em a Flamethrower!" Flannery shouted, noting that the Marshtomp was looking much weaker, as well. I'm just lucky that Levi isn't a Swampert yet, she thought with a small chuckle.
Megu took a deep breath, his body glowing nearly white-hot again as he opened his mouth and shot out a jet of fire. His aim was off, however, as the mud in his eyes made it quite difficult to find his target. Flannery sighed, but smiled. She'd expected no less from Kasiya when it came to battling. Megu was breathing heavily as his attack ended, and in front of him, the once glittering wall of light slowly faded before winking out of existence.

Roxanne chose not to say anything as the Beldum was recalled. Her Geodude clapped its hands together happily before grinding its fists together as it awaited its next opponent. Neither gym leader nor Pokemon were expecting to see the Combusken rocket out of her Pokeball and come charging at them, and before Geodude could even blink it had been kicked in the head not once, but twice. Now reeling from the attack, Geodude struggled to regain its bearings, squinting at Combusken through half-closed eyes.
"Hang in there, Geodude! Fight back with Rock Tomb!" Roxanne called. Groaning, Geodude hopped back a bit and rammed its fists into the ground, causing four spires of rock to shoot up out of the ground, and hopefully encase Combusken within them.

Levi winced and prepared to be blasted by Megu's Flamethrower, but cautiously looked around when the searing pain didn't come. That was because Megu's attack had been a bit off, but only by maybe a foot or so. Kasiya reluctantly had to admit that she'd underestimated Flannery's Slugma, and she found herself to be rather fond of the cute little flame slug. Now wasn't the time to be fawning over Megu though, and she watched Levi for a moment, realizing now that the Marshtomp was poisoned. Also, the Light Screen was gone now, which meant she could hit Megu full-blast with Levi's water and mud attacks. "Okay Levi, give Megu another Mud Shot!"
Levi pulled herself up and stared down at the Slugma, eyes full of determination. The poison was really taking a toll on her and she felt weaker by the moment. She refused to give up though - Kasiya had chosen her for this fight, and she wasn't going to let the girl down! Levi's cheeks puffed up as she prepared to attack, finally shooting out another stream of thick, muddy glop at Megu.
Without the Light Screen to block damage, Megu found this Mud Shot attack to be a lot more tougher to withstand than the last one. Smoke rose off of his body in small wisps, the muck already hardening as though it had been clay in a furnace. Megu allowed himself to backpedal a little (which was in fact just him slithering back), leaving a scorched path where his body touched the ground.
Flannery grit her teeth, watching the young Pokemon stagger a bit. If she and Megu could hold on until she couldn't fight the poison anymore... "Megu, Recover!" she commanded sharply. Her heart was beating hard in her chest, and for the first time in a while, she felt confident in her abilities as a gym leader. Grampa was right, she thought, smiling a bit as Megu's body shimmered and glowed as he recovered his stamina again. I will be a great gym leader!
=-=-=-=-= Combusken let out a cry of pain as the rocks pierced her body in several places. Her legs had taken most of the damage and she knew it would cut her speed as a result. Grunting she reared back and kicked at one of the spires, crushing it to bits with her powerful kick. "Double Kick, again!" Jaeshan shouted.
Still full of fighting spirit, Combusken dashed at the Geodude again, kicking once with her right leg and following it up with a kick from the left. In his mind's eye, Jaeshan could picture the powerful Blaziken that she would someday become.

Geodude's eyes went very wide as Combusken shattered one of his rock spires, then came at him. Each strike was hard and painful, just like the previous two had been, and just like that, Geodude collapsed, unable to continue. "You fought well, Geodude, return," Roxanne said with a small smile, recalling her fainted Pokemon. "Not bad," she called over to Jaeshan, still smiling. "Let's see how well you can handle my next Pokemon! Aron, I choose you!"
The small Pokemon that took Geodude's place didn't look very intimidating or frightening at all. It's blue eyes blinked curiously at Combusken as the gym lights reflected off of the hard metal that covered her body. "Okay Aron, lead off with an Iron Defense!" she shouted. The small, iron-clad Pokemon closed its eyes and hunkered down. It seemed as though nothing happened, when in fact Aron's defense had just increased dramatically.

A quiet but intrigued 'hmph' buzzed in Mike's throat as Keegan replied to his little rant, with nothing remotely resembling his usual bitter cynicism. What's this? He though with a raised right eyebrow. Is this...empathy? From Keegan? The next time the red head broke their eye contact to observe the battle Mike quickly looked around to see if there was a sort of brain altering micro-chip on him, or even a hole where his brain fell out or something. Nope, he seemed completely 100% unaltered. Strange.
"Well!" Mike practically rang out, hoping to break the uncomfortable moment. "I'm glad we could be civil about this." He was glad. For the first time in years, Mike and Keegan had a conversation that ended in a relatively pleasant manner. Maybe the two could start moving towards repairing their friendship now? Perhaps, but he decided not to push his luck; a tremendous amount of progress had been made today. "So," He started once more, joining Keegan in observing the battle. "I bet my girlfriend can kick your girlfriend's butt." He said, holding back a silly grin.
Napalm's eyes grew wide as the Vulpix lunged at him. He knew it was playing, but still, a Pokemon jumping at you is still a Pokemon jumping at you! Feeling inclined to play along, the Magby held out his hands, his eyes beginning to glow a bright blue hue as he attempted to stop the aggressive Helios in his tracks, er, air?

Kasiya refrained from having a temper tantrum as once again Megu recovered all the damage it had taken. Levi was suffering with each round that passed, yet the Marshtomp pressed on. She's stubborn, Kasiya thought, but smiled. "Okay Levi, Surf attack! Let's see how well he fares without the Light Screen to protect him!"
Clapping her forelegs together, Levi summoned up another massive wave of water, happy to launch it towards the Slugma. If anything, she loved this attack, and how it seemed to keep growing in power each time she used it. Out of the corner of her eye, Kasiya saw Mike and Keegan talking, and she couldn't help but wonder what was up with them. She had no idea why they seemed to fight every time they came near each other, but she really hoped they'd let her in on why at some point.
Flannery grit her teeth and looked to Megu as the tidal wave rose up and then crashed down upon her poor Slugma. As the water once again receded, Megu was still conscious, but now he just looked angry. Flannery sighed with relief, and pointed to Levi again. "Finish her, Megu! Overheat!"
Quite glad to oblige, Megu reared back and let out another ferocious blast of fire fly towards the weakened Marshtomp. This attack wasn't as powerful as the last, but it still had some oomph to it. Panting a bit, the Slugma lowered his head, feeling the wear and tear of battle starting to take its toll.
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan only smiled when Geodude went down, taking a deep breath and calming himself. Combusken seemed to be quite happy with herself as well, now hopping from foot to foot as they awaited their next opponent. Jaeshan didn't recognize the armored Pokemon Roxanne sent out next, but it seemed pretty obvious that it was of the Steel-type. Nothing seemed to happen when it used Iron Defense, but Jaeshan wasn't going to assume that nothing did happen. He glanced down at Combusken and nodded. "Give it your Flamethrower!" he told the Pokemon quickly.
Combusken took a few steps forward and reared back, expelling a blast of flames from her beak at the steely Pokemon. Let's see how much it likes that, Jaeshan thought, glad that Combusken had finally perfected her Flamethrower.

Keegan knew his response was unexpected, but it was true. A long time ago, he would have been happy to shout and yell at Mike for his stupidity, but now, he just knew he couldn't. Mike's reasoning seemed almost logical to him now, although he didn't quite understand it himself. His green eyes were watching Kasiya and nothing else, not even the battle anymore. He wasn't sure how it had happened or even when, but something in him had changed, and he knew it was because of Kasiya. It was strangely unnerving, yet calming at the same time.
He finally blinked and looked away from the battle, and nodded at Mike. "Me too. It's just been too long." He smiled genuinely at his old friend, feeling as though a weight had been removed from his shoulders. Way back when, the only kids who'd ever befriended him had been Mike and Flannery, and after everything that had happened, he slowly came to realize he missed his friends. He too hoped that now they could repair their damaged friendship, especially since they had friends in common. He raised an eyebrow at the last comment, and chuckled a bit. "I dunno, it looks like it could go either way at the moment," he said, realizing only then that Mike had only been trying to lighten the mood. Deciding to play along, he leaned back in his seat and crossed one leg over the other. "But I do know one thing. My girlfriend can kick your butt." The look he gave Mike then was just like one he'd given years ago, when the two were always joking around and getting into trouble.
Helios quickly sensed the mystical energy Napalm was summoning and stopped in mid-pounce, partially because of the Magby's Psychic, partially because of his own restraint. He knew the Magby was young but he could still sense great potential coming from him. Focusing with all his willpower, Helios broke Napalm's hold on him and dropped to the ground quite gracefully, giving the Magby an approving nod before looking up over his shoulder at the two humans. ===== Roxanne's expression remained the same as the flames washed over Aron. The small Pokemon didn't make so much as a sound when the flames hit it; it only closed its eyes and braced for impact. When the attack was over, it's eyes opened, and continued to blink at Combusken. "Tackle!" Roxanne commanded, raising an arm.
The small Pokemon shook itself out before it began to rush forward, narrowing its eyes as it took aim at the fire type.

"Oh you so did not." Mike squinted his eyes at Keegan's remark, crossing his arms in an annoyed manner. "How do you possibly know how strong I am? You've only watched me battle once. Not to mention, I've spent more time with Flannery and Kasiya than you. I think I know their abilities more than you think." His eyes flared up as he quickly snagged a Pokeball from his belt. Mike had come a long way from his brasher younger days of picking fights with all the local boys to show how tough he was. He was also a long way from getting his hind end kicked all the way back home because of his small stature when he was a little kid. (No one ever said being a stubborn instigator was smart.) But aside from all the self control he struggled to learn over the years, the thought of someone (even unintentionally) issuing him a personal challenge got his blood boiling in a crazed competitive fury. But those who knew him knew that his brash nature was never mean-spirited. He just had a short fuse and loved to pit his abilities against anyone who doubted his talents.
The boy flicked a stray bang from his face, clutching a Pokeball in his hand. An almost devious toothy smirk played on his lips as he looked right into Keegan's eyes. "That is, unless you are willing to see for yourself?" A soft anticipatory laughter left the boy's mouth as he awaited an answer.
Napalm felt the fox slither through his mental grasp with relative ease. Sure, he wasn't trying to knock him across the floor like he would in a battle, but the Magby wasn't stupid. He knew that there was more power behind this Vulpix than showed on that nearly perfect fur coat of his. The Fire Pokemon hopped up and down excitedly at his trainer's challenge, hoping that he could prove to Helios just how strong he was.

Levi could only watch as the fireball came right at her, and she closed her eyes, not really feeling a thing as she fainted away into unconsciousness. Kasiya watched with tears in the corners of her eyes as Levi went down, and with a trembling hand she recalled the Marshtomp. I knew I shouldn't have sent Levi out... she thought, fumbling to clip the ball back into its place. She selected a second Pokeball, enlarging it once with one click and then throwing it. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Levi's image grayed out on the scoreboard, and fought back a wave of guilt. "Okay Ada, let's slow them what you can do!" she shouted as the Larvitar materialized on the gym floor. "Rock Slide!" Her voice was stricken with a mixture of guilt and determination, with seemingly the only thing holding back her sobs was that determination.
Adamantine gave a little smirk as she thrust her hands into the ground and ripped up a chunk of the earth. She grunted under its weight before hurling it up into the air, causing it to break apart and rain down over the area in which Megu was.
Flannery could sense Kasiya's sadness when Levi fainted, but she knew that for one, if the poison hadn't worked in her favor, and two, Levi was a few levels higher, the Marshtomp probably could have swept her team with merely a few Surf attacks. The Larvitar was a new sight to her though, and she frowned, silently cursing as once again her gym floor was destroyed. The Rock Slide came crashing down onto Megu, who didn't stand a chance. The rocks hit the ground, causing the whole gym to shake a bit. Once it was over, Megu squeezed out from between two large rocks, then collapsed, his molten body spreading out under him like a lava puddle.
"Oh Megu, you were great," Flannery smiled, recalling the fainted Slugma. "Overcoming a Water-type and everything!" Her smile changed into a hardened look as she held up her second Pokeball. Megu's picture dimmed even as she hurled in into the battlefield, revealing her mighty Camerupt. The large Pokemon let out a loud, bellowing roar as it stamped its hoofed feet on the ground. "Take Down!" Flannery shouted, pointing at the Larvitar. The ground once again began to tremble as the large Pokemon charged forward, causing the smaller rocks littering the floor to rattle and shake.
Meanwhile, Houndoom had been keeping a close eye on the two boys, as per Flannery's orders. When Mike jumped to his feet the canine did as well, approaching the two while a snarl curled his lips and ears flat against his head. He let out a loud bark as if to tell them both to settle down.
=-=-=-=-= Combusken was barely able to dodge the oncoming mini-train that was Aron, her arms flailing at her sides comically as she hopped up and down. The opposing Pokemon was small, sure, but even she could feel the ground rumbling as it ran forward. How much did that thing weigh, anyways?
"Calm down, Combusken!" Jaeshan told her, rubbing his temples with his thumb and index finger. "You're faster and more agile so you've got a bit of an advantage here." Combusken stopped flailing and turned to look at the Aron carefully. Its movements would be fairly easy to predict. "Use Focus Energy," he told her. "Watch where it's going and try to avoid it for now. Once we understand how it attacks, then we can launch a counterattack." Combusken nodded and closed her eyes, lowering her head as she began to concentrate. She felt her adrenalin surge and her muscles loosen a little. She really felt ready now.

Whoa, wait, what? Keegan slowly went over what he'd just said in his head, trying to remember if he'd secretly inserted a challenge in there somewhere. Convinced he hadn't, he sighed a bit, thinking about how some things never changed. He really didn't doubt the abilities of any of his friends, but Mike's fuse was just as short as his was and also easy to ignite. Helios had stopped for a moment, staring up at his trainer with a look that clearly read 'What did you just do?'
He stood up as well, holding his hands out defensively. "Wait, Mike, I..." he trailed off as the Houndoom approached them, snarling viciously. Flannery's warning repeated in his mind, but suddenly it wasn't the same Houndoom he was looking at. Its short fur was a bluish shade, and it looked ready to attack. Almost instantly the burn on his arm felt as though it were on fire, and Keegan grabbed hold of his arm, squeezing it tightly. It was all he could do to avoid crying out. Slowly the blue Houndoom turned back to its normal colours, and Keegan sighed, brushing the unruly red hair from his face. "Whatever," he said finally. "I honestly don't think you have anything to prove here," he told Mike, glancing down at Helios and Napalm, "...but maybe I do?" He pulled off his long, dark overcoat and tossed it on the seat next to him, revealing a faded, red short sleeve shirt with small holes here and there in it. "Correct me if I'm wrong, Old Friend," he said, once again passing his fingers over the red, still-burning scar, "but I think that perhaps you underestimate me. That being said, I don't exactly think I could beat you, not right now, anyways, but if a match of sorts will change your mind about me and what I'm capable of, so be it." He glanced over at Kasiya one more time before sitting back down. "Obviously, not right now though. I did promise Kasi I'd watch her match today and she'd probably kill me if I walked out on her." He looked up at Mike and grinned, trying to keep the situation under control. Don't wanna blow it already, he thought with some amusement. ===== Roxanne frowned then. It hadn't been long since she'd captured her Aron, and they didn't have much of a strategy for battling as of yet. All Roxanne knew was the little steel and rock Pokemon would be a powerhouse someday. But then again, there was that one move she'd taught it yesterday...
"Aron," the gym leader said with a bit of a playful smirk, "use Dig." Upon hearing its mistress' command, Aron hopped up and began to spin, its silver body shining as it dove into the floor of the gym. Bits of gravel and dirt were strewn up behind it as it tunnled deep underground. Roxanne continued to smile. "Predict that," she said somewhat casually.

The Houndoom's snarl failed to scare Mike into backing down. He knew that Flannery wouldn't have her Pokemon attack him. Besides, he was just accepting a challenge. "Oh shush Houndoom," Mike barked back. "It's not like I punched him. Sheesh!" He was too busy scolding the Pokemon to notice Keegan wincing in pain at his burn. Waving the hound off, he turned back to Keegan and listened to his proposition. He was surprised. Last time he asked for a battle his friend let it roll right off his shoulders, like he didn't even ask him, and now he was going out of his way to make plans. Accepting a challenge and not yelling his head off all in one day? Maybe Keegan was changing for the better after all. "Okay, you've got yourself a deal. We'll battle whenever you're free." He held out his hand to shake on it. Man, If he turns around with some super powerful Pokemon and completely smokes me, I'll kill myself. He thought with a laugh. "Or if you two are going to the beach party, we could always fight there." He smiled warmly, he was looking forward to his first battle with Keegan that didn't involve their fists.

Kasiya felt a little relieved now that Flannery's first Pokemon was down, but the relief quickly faded when she saw the Camerupt. It began to charge at Ada, who hunkered down and waited, jumping out of the way at the very last possible second and rolling to a stop. She brushed herself off and stood up, glaring at the large Pokemon in front of her. "Ada, use another Rock Slide!" Kasiya called. Grunting, Ada repeated her actions from the last round, grabbing up a chunk of the gym floor and hurling it into the air so it would rain rocky doom down upon Camerupt.
This attack, however, would leave her prone to Camerupt's next move, unless the big lug flinched, which probably wouldn't be the case. Kasiya did have to admit that Ada's Rock Slide had gotten much better over time.
Camerupt grunted as his Take Down missed, and looked up through bloodshot eyes in time to see large chunks of rock come falling down from above. He cried out in pain and anger as one large rock in particular fell on his head, and he let out another bellowing roar, practically begging his trainer to give a command. "Flamethrower, Camerupt! Go!" Flannery shouted. The large Pokemon shook himself and stomped a heavy hoof down before he opened his mouth and shot out a powerful Flamethrower at the prone Larvitar.
Houndoom, in the meantime, only backed down when he was certain the boys weren't going to start throwing punches. Of course he wasn't going to attack them, but he would certainly intervene if a fight did break out. He sensed Keegan's apprehension of him, which was something he thought was quite new, and he stopped growling before looking up at Mike with an unimpressed expression. He'd known both these humans since before he'd evolved from a Houndour but even still he wasn't going to take orders from anyone other than Flannery. Houndoom snorted, sending out a small puff of smoke from his nostrils before turning his back on the two and heading back over to the floor near his trainer. Every now and then he'd glance up at them to make sure they were still behaving, but for the most part he just wanted to lie down and relax.
=-=-=-=-= Both Jaeshan and Combusken's jaws dropped a little when the little Aron suddenly burrowed underground. Okay, that was not in the battle plan. Jaeshan scratched his chin, knowing that Dig users had to sense where their opponents were in order to land a hit. He didn't know what to do. If Combusken moved, then Aron would be able to find her. He had to think of something and fast. He scanned the gym floor for a moment, and his eyes lit up. "Combusken, go jump on top of one of those rocks!" he commanded. "If the Aron pops up blast it with another Flamethrower!"
Combusken didn't waste any time by nodding. Instead she took a quick glance around and rushed for the nearest rock, jumping up and deftly landing on it. It was quite large and had foot room to spare, and Combusken now kept her eyes peeled for any sign of the elusive Aron.

The mudkip and the trainer came upon a flowery and cheerful city. "Petalburg" Sere read on the sign just outside the town. "Well we're getting closer, lets get you healed up and see what this town has to offer."
The rest of the journy to Petalburg had gone fairly smoothly. Serenity noted that there were other trainers along the way, but most were busy with other battles or, perhaps noted that the mudkip was already a little worn and thought to save the challenge for next time. Geoge, to his credit never let his energy waver for the rest of the walk even though he had to be hurting some.
"Look George! There's the pokecenter! Now we can get you all healed up." Sere picked up the tiny blue pokemon and ran in the direction of the center. When she got in the center she was surprised to find that it looked remarkably similar to the center at Lilycove. 'They must all use the same decorator' she mused.
She walked up to the counter where the pink haired nurse stood. "Can I help you?" She asked Sere.
"Yes please. CanyouhealmyGeorge?" She said. The words came out so fast that she bairly knew what she said. The mudkip even looked up at her confused. Serenity couldn't find the words again though, so even though the nurse looked at her as though she had suddenly grown a third head Sere handed her the mudkip, which the nurse took.
"You've been through this before George, it's no different here. I'll be just over here." She said.
"Don't worry, we'll take good care of him." The nurse said as she walked into the back room. Serenity moved to one of the red seats in the waiting room. 'I need to get this shiness under control before I lose all hope of getting friends.'

A minor set back, that's all. Rebecca knew that Kilik would have to let his guard down eventually. He's so confident in himself! she thought angrily, I won't let him put me down! "Primeape, fine that Lairon and smash him with Dynamic Punch!!" The furry ape looked around in the storm, but couldn't find his target. He took a blind swing into the sand when he felt a disturbance but nothing came out of it. Again, the sharp grains cut against Primeape's body. It really started to hurt.
"So much for that," Kilik laughed, shrugging, "Okay, so here's number two! Lairon, break out of the sand and smack him with another Take Down!" If he could just smack him good with two moves like that, he'd be set to get out of here quickly. Part of him wanted to send out Flygon to stand by so he could just hop on once he won and get out of there. He refrained - he wasn't that rude.
A low roar once more echoed through the sand and he barreled right through the column of dirt and ran head on for his foe. The metal plate on his head began to glow - this wasn't Take Down. He had only used this unknown move once before and the power that surged through his body that time was once more going through him. It felt good to use this move, as if he were venting all of his rage. He connected with Primeape, knocking him clearly out of the storm. Of course, Lairon knew his foe was not yet conquered. With a roar, a hand-like extension grew from the pillar and snagged Primeape, pulling him back into the fight.
Rebecca was enraged. How dare he make a mockery of one of her strongest Pokemon! That was it. Now it was personal. This next round was going to be the last, either for him or her.
