As Jake and Rio were resting they were both reading a copy of the New York Times, on the same article. The first words to come out of both of their mouths, at the same time, was: "******** Politics." Of course both of them heard each other and both had to think of what the other had said before coming to a conclusion that they had somewhat something in common before going back to their business.

Tsuki listened carefully as he spoke, eager to know what he was talking about. Despite her attentiveness, she could not control her wandering eyes. Normally, she wasn't into bright clothing, but on him it looked good. When he finished she accepted the paper and looked it over, admiring the officialness of it all. As he recommended that she joined, she was flattered he thought so of her. She did want to run, but for what position? And there was no way she would hesitate.

"I want to join,"
she said immediately. "Only...I'm not sure for what position I should run," she said, explaining her dilemma. She hoped he would help her in that.

Amir smiled at her zeal to join the SCSs. “Hhhmmmm well, think of your strengths. All the positions work closely with other students and clubs, but each have unique jobs. Secretaries are always neat, organized, and great note takers. Treasurers excel in math, like shopping, can balance accounts, and know how to score deals with monetary issues. Vice Presidents are always on top of things, are creative, energetic, and make sure everything else is running smoothly. Presidents are good with communicating with people, handle authority very well, great listeners, and can manage multiple tasks while briefing the Dean and/or Headmaster….which is what I need to go do!” He said remembering his list of thing to do.

“Of course I’m going to plug the job as President because that was my favorite, but I first started out as Secretary and worked my way up. Maybe you would like to give each position a couple of weeks and rotate to the next. You can start with the President position and accompany me to the Dean’s office? But if you need to finish reading, then I understand, homework always comes first, unless you don’t wish to start out with the President position…” Amir finished with a pout and puppy eyes to tease her. He noticed that her smile, though sometimes subtle, while other times bright and beautiful….made him feel happier.

After Tsuki listened to each description of each position, and paying full attention, she considered each in her head. 'Well, I am neat, organized, and good at taking notes. I'm not too good at money s**t. I'm not that energetic. But I can manage multiple tasks, and I know the Headmaster pretty well. I think I'll go for Secretary, since I know I can't get President,' she concluded.

"I'd love to join you,"
she said with a smile. "And the book's not for homework. I'm just reading it for fun," she informed him. Getting up with the paper in hand, she began to walk with him out of the library. As they walked, she began to talk about her decision.

"Well, I was thinking about what position I wanted, and I decided on Secretary. I'm really good at taking notes, and I'm organized. President sounds good, too, but I don't think I could be President. After all, I'm only a Beginner," she said, vocalizing her thoughts. Her eyes kept dancing from the floor to his face then back again. She could not help but get nervous by Amir's presence, but could not avoid looking at him for very long.

Akira sighed. She needed to get out of this place. She didn't want to be next to Jake. Why is he even in here? She thought angrily. But then stopped. I have no reason to be mad at him he's right.... Akira sighed and fell back onto the pillow of the bed. Just then her stomach rumbled loudly. Akira blushed a bit and then looked around for some food. "s**t..." She muttered and then covered her face with her hands and let out an exasperated sigh.

“Wonderful!” Amir smiled when Tsuki accepted his invitation. He listened attentively, for it was what he did best, listening and advising fellow students.

“It is good to understand your strengths and weaknesses. Choosing the appropriate position will help you exemplify and hone you strong points as well as bring out characteristics you did not know you had and help you practice others. Do not let your elemental level inhibit you from trying to reach the top. There have been beginner level students who have not only held office, but were presidents, too. I believe Dr. Liriale Montoya was the most recent one. She was president when I first entered the academy. She was very good, and I always and still do look up to her as a role model,” Amir smiled and the note of admiration was evident in his voice. “Unfortunately she and the Dean always clashed. Though, I suspect he just liked giving her a hard time.” Amir quickly added, hoping that he did not make Tsuki loss interest because of the Dean, but he wasn’t sure he used the right words of comfort either.

They walked past the Headmaster’s office and stopped at the Dean’s door, which was slightly ajar. “He always leaves it open so students and teachers can just walk in. If his door is closed then that means he is out of the office or should not be disturbed. The latter is very rare though.” Amir explained and pushed open the Dean’s door to let Tsuki enter.

((Delta: Enjoy your camping trip ^^))

Madam Bone just bustled into the medical office carrying three trays of food she picked up from the outside food court. On a side table near Jake’s bed she placed a tray of two toast with honey, a glass of orange juice along with water, and a vitamin B complex tablet. “Doctor Montoya, wanted me to remind you to make sure to eat everything to help with your hangover. The toast will help calm your stomach, neutralizing the acid, the honey is simple sugars, which will aid in digestion and metabolizing the alcohol, and the vitamin will replace the lost thiamine from the alcohol. Eat up dearie” she said with a smile then headed towards Rio’s bed where she placed down a bowl of cereal, a cup of juice and water, and a bowl of assorted fruit. “Dr. Montaya wants you to drink plenty of water since you were thoroughly dehydrated yesterday so please don’t hesitate to ask for more. Now take a break from your homework and have a bite.” She informed the boy. Striding to Akir’s bedside, Nurse Bone placed a tray with a bowl of cereal, assorted fruits, and a glass of juice Akira preferred. “Please eat up little one for you need your strength.” Madam Bone then bustled to the desk where she jotted down notes on each of the patient’s charts.

Akira moved her fingers and peeked over at the food next to her. Her stomach rumbled again and Akira sighed. She leaned up and pulled the tray onto her lap. She picked up a decent sized strawberry and nibbled at it. Hangover eh? So he must have drank so much he gave himself alcohol poisoning... Maybe it did hurt him too... Akira thought and a small smile spread across her lips as she picked up another strawberry.

Rayvan held up her hand actually daring to silence the headmaster. "That is not all...I did not tell you why I was brought into the Black Guard. You see, I am cursed along with the entire branch of my family. I killed them off to protect this secret and If I am telling you about my past, you must learn all of it. I do this not only so I can begin anew, but also because I fear for my students." Rayvan was serious, the look in her eyes saying shut up and listen. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out another photo. This one was black and white, and showed a man standing with a sword over his shoulder, his eyes and hair matching Rayvan's in spite the lack of color. The man was her ancestor and the one who first was cursed. He was a great black wizard, this was before the magic was banished and removed from the world. "Do you recognize this man?"

Emma was startled to be seen in such clothing. This dress...well, it had it's history behind it, and this was the first time that she was aware of someone seeing her in it. She didn't quite know how to respond. "Well...um...thank you. It's a heirloom of sorts. I'll join you both in a bit, just allow me to change. I'd rather not risk soiling the gown. I hope you understand..." And she really did. Leah was her first friend, Ben aside, in a long while...and she would rather not lose her.
