Tatsuman Why do people seem to think we're trying to ban characters?
Like I said, if that's how you all want to play, that's fine. I like to play with all items on too, but it's just not plausible in any kind of tournament. Meta_Fish If we're banning stages and items why end it there? Why don't we ban certain characters? If so-and-so is broken, then why allow them? Mr. Game & Watch can spawn food, so that gives him an unfair advantage if he runs away and gets it. Peach could get an omega turnip and rape everyone. It's the randomness that makes Smash what it is. Smash.

We're not tourneyfags, going around the world to play Smash with no items, only using the highest tier characters on the flattest stage. We're gamers, playing the game to it's fullest, using items and stages, listening to the music, taking in the characters, pausing the game to see Pikachu eating out Peach, and other immature things.

Meta_Fish Tatsuman And that's part of her Moveset, which we can't do anything about. You guys are acting like we're telling you no items, only final destination.
We aren't. We're trying to make this a s fun as possible.
I've made this point before. And we're not turning off all items. Quite the contrary in fact.
I already said we're trying to keep banned items/stages to a minimum, while preserving the fun. Then I'm ranting because I haven't had a real good chance to rant about s**t like this. All items should be left on. It's luck, yes. Luck can determine stock. You're taking out hammers but leaving Pokeballs and ATs on? Tell me, when you play Melee, and someone gets a hammer, what do you do? You ******** run. If they kill you, what do you do? Die fast, come back, and hit them with your bit of invincibility, steal the hammer, and get payback. A good Smash player knows how to use items. A great Smash player knows how to dodge those items. Preserving the fun would be letting me choose any stage and use any item. The fun comes when you run to a Pokeball only to get Goldeen, or when you rush to a capsule, throw it to your feet and die. If you set limits, take a reality check, because you're taking the game too seriously. Oh. Well then it's nothing personal. Good. I like arguments like this

How about any of the confirmed ATs?
Actually, I dodge them, shine them, and kick them off of a cliff. Point is, they can just fly back with the Golden Hammer.
And not many characters can counter a hammer in mid swing.

If you can find a way to block the smart bomb with Bowser or DK, then please share.
Too serious? From the dude that's been freaking out for the past 2 months over SMG?
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, it just seems a bit hypocritical to me.
The PokeBall and Capsule weren't banned, anyway.

Tatsuman Have you ever seen a Pokemon you couldn't dodge fairly easily? How about any of the confirmed ATs? Groudon? Unknown get hard to dodge on certain stages, too. Pokemon can do an awesome job at edgeguarding, and with Assist Trophies added, there will twice the amount of this. Tatsuman Actually, I dodge them, shine them, and kick them off of a cliff. Point is, they can just fly back with the Golden Hammer. And not many characters can counter a hammer in mid swing. You can dodge them, but not always. Generally, you run from a person that has a hammer. You don't run at them, that's not up for debate. The Golden Hammer just seems to be able to float off and then back on. That's not the point. Small characters are faster, can get items faster and dodge them easier. Big characters are stronger, heavier, and can throw further. I'm saying that the random factor is what makes Smash fun. It's a smorgasboard of ideas, and the possibility of the stage morphing, a platform appearing, an item coming to your saving grace, are all what make it an awesome experience. You never know what's going to happen next. That is Smash Brothers.

Unown are a bit hard to dodge sometimes, but they appear in a very easily spotted pattern.
Groudon just stands there being big. Small characters can throw the big ones into him, and big characters can smash the small ones into him.
I say everything that doesn't happen automatically is up for debate.
It appeared that she rose up in the pics on the Brawl site. That removes most of the weakness from the original hammer.
Any Bowser or DK user would be proper ******** in such a situation.
Unless it's Fox vs. Ganon on Hyrule Temple for example. The Fox user can simple camp and fire his blaster until Ganon has sufficient damage, then smash him offscreen with little effort.
This is why some stages need to be banned.
That part makes no sense to me. Like, at all. I've been smashing off and on for six years. It's hard to not notice things.
Indeed. That would be why I'm leaving the Smash Balls, the Pokeballs, the ATs, and the capsules. Among many others of course.
