Keira gets to come home today, Im so friggin happy about that.

Kendall has to stay until Christmas day.... I just hope that all goes well with her. They are keeping her because of her heart. they are worried about it. So I have that still to worry about, but thank God, Keira is okay and now I just cant wait til Kendall comes home. . .

Illy - That's great. I'm glad things are working out for you with the girls. I knew things would. Things always turn out in the end, it just may take a bit for them to do so.

In honor of Christmas, I'd like to invite you wonderful people to partake in my creepypasta. Enjoy, and don't make a mess with the sauce.

When the lights went out, I realised something was up. Having been reading Z-Day at the time, I knew that I'd have to make a run for the weapons shop, and possibly survivors over in the north before s**t got rough, and quickly.

I searched the house top to bottom, grabbing what I thought I would need, a couple of knives first, a thick jacket, but a decidedly useless display katana was dropped in favour of my sisters old field hockey stick from high school. On the way out I grabbed my phone. The batteries were almost dead, as usual, but I figured it might last for now.

As soon as I stepped out the front door, my phone let out a bone-chilling screech before dropping into the low hiss of static I'd come to expect. THEY were here, and I'd have to move fast.

I crouched behind the low fence in front of my house, hand over the phone in an attempt to muffle it while I checked to see if I could spot what was causing the disruption. As my eyes adjusted to the dark I saw some kind of dog trotting out from behind the house across the road, and the stench of rotting flesh hit my nose the next instant.

It must have noticed me at about the same time, its head whipping 'round in my direction. I immediately dropped back behind the fence, knowing this wouldnt be enough. Sure enough, I heard the wet, rhythmic thumping growing louder as it padded towards me, speeding up. A rattling growl seeming to drill into my mind. I gripped the hockey stick tightly, praying to whatever gods were listening to help me; I wasn't supposed to die like this!

I heard the noise suddenly stop as it lept, and took this as my chance to strike. I stood and swung in one clean motion, remembering a similar incident a few years back that had ended with a trip to the hospital when I'd suprised my sister after a game. Unfortunately, life isn't like the movies, and things are rarely that simple.

I only managed to clip one of the beast's back legs, sending it sprawling in the yard, but not the decisive blow I'd hoped for. I overbalanced from the swing and hit the fence heavily, almost falling before I regained my composure. By now the beast had scrambled to its feet, and was preparing to lunge, the menacing growl rooting me to the spot.

It attacked faster than I thought possible, its jaws clamping around my left arm. I screamed, snatching one of the knives up and slashing wildly at its already torn and bloody skull. The blade snapped within a few strikes, and I resorted to smashing the base into the cursed thing's face. The pain was driving any form of logic from my mind, even basic thoughts like prying its jaws open were consumed by blind rage.

After what seemed like an eternity of struggle, it finally went limp. I collapsed against the fence, clutching my arm to my chest. The coat had stopped the teeth from ripping it clean off, but the wound was still pretty deep. Trying to flex my fingers got only a faint response. There was no way I could grip a knife, or even knock away a weak attack.

I bound my arm as best I could with a strip cut from my shirt, more because I'd seen it in films than from anything I knew. The white noise from my phone had stopped, at least for now.

Since the phone was still silent, I ran as fast as I could in the rough direction of the store. Occasionally it would let out a burst of static and I'd dive for the nearest cover, nine times out of ten it would be followed by a scream as another citizen fell victim to these fiends. The tenth was always far more terrifying, when I'd never find what had caused it, or worse would sit, shaking and practically pissing myself with fear as another of the disgusting creatures would stalk past, wet sniffs betraying its movements.

After the third such encounter, my phone cut out. While I could still see the thing, the batteries had finally died. I barely kept myself from cursing, the silence somehow more terrifying than anything I'd seen thus far. The dark seemed to gather around much closer now, I couldn't run for fear of walking right into one of those damn... monsters.

The normally familiar streets had become a veritable maze of blood and fear, everywhere I turned lead to another row of houses I didn't know, another road I'd never seen, or just a dead end; a wire fence stretching well out of my reach. I could never bring myself to stay near them for long. They may have been some of the safest places to rest, but I couldn't help but feel they weren't from this world, the darkness seemingingly impenetrable on the other side.

I was just taking turns at random now. What few landmarks I'd seen appeared to be far from where they should be, often corrupted; statues with twisted features, parks with every tree burnt or withered, every one I passed just made me feel hopeless.

And it got worse.

The encounters grew fewer before stopping altogether. Soon I was completely alone, wandering for hours without seeing even a sign of movement, let alone life; yet still a feeling of dread gnawed away at the back of my mind. Everytime I stopped to try and catch my breath, I'd feel as if something just out of sight was watching me, marking my every move... and getting closer. Slowly, but surely, closer.

I was being followed, and not by one of the mindless creatures from before. This thing had a malevolent presence, a threatening aura that cut through the distance between us. Every step I made, I knew he was mimicing. My breath was caught in my throat, and I swear for a second I heard another exhale just behind my ear. I spun around, hoping to at least catch it off-guard, but there was nothing there. Only an empty street.

Slowly I turned back, striding quickly to try and hide my sheer terror. The ground had become wet, every few seconds I'd hear a splash as I stumbled into another low puddle. It hadn't rained for days, and for the first time I was glad the darkness blocked my sight.

I was in an area of town I'd never been to before now, if it could still be said to be my town. All the doors and windows were boarded across, the houses a drab grey instead of the well painted individuality I'd come to expect in the better areas of the suburbs.

It was while I was trying to find any sort of familiarity that I heard a splash again. This time, though, I knew I hadn't stepped in anything. I froze instantly. There was not a noise to be heard, not even the whistle of the wind. I looked behind me. Again, nothing. Shivering, I turned back, my shoulders hunched up almost to my cheeks, right hand clasped around the handle of my remaining knife.

By now there was no denying that there was something behind me. Every second step I made was followed by another, less than a second after, only noticeable because I was listening for it. Thump, thumpthump. Thump, thumpthump.

I couldn't take it anymore! I had to know what was following me. I looked behind me for the third time... and looked into my own Hell.

The area was flooded with light; a bright red sun flaring in the distance, reflecting off of every surface... which appeared slick with blood. Every wall, every car, every floor was covered in dripping, viscous fluid. It was as if the whole world was melting.

I barely registered any of this, as I had much more pressing issues at hand.

Standing less than a foot from me was a tall skeletal figure, covered in a dark, almost cloak-like mist. What areas of his body that did show were as red as the surroundings, consisting only of muscle tissue. His face twisted into a wide grin, showing thousands of splintered and razor-sharp teeth. In a low, dripping voice he spoke, "Three looks back... that's all it takes... for belief." Every movement of his mouth sent streams of blood from his mouth as his teeth sliced his lips, which healed instantly.

Staggering backwards, I slipped, landing heavily on my backside, and then pushing myself away as best I could. He laughed a hollow, mirthless sound. I flinched, and that was enough to restore sense to me.

My hand flew to my knife, and I pulled it from its rudimentary sheath tucked in my belt. Before my hand left my side I was hoisted up by my neck. His tight grip seemed to sear into my throat, his hand simultaneously ice-cold and burning with the heat of a thousand suns. I struggled, trying to kick out, or thrust the knife into his stomach. His hand shot out, grasping the blade which slid easily through his flesh. His flesh healed around my blade instantly, shattering it.

Each foul breath sent rivulets of blood flicking across my face, into my eyes and mouth. I felt like I was being tainted just by touching... it, whatever the hell was holding me by the throat. Every second was agony, pain upon pain. I couldn't breathe. A new smell hit my nose, stronger even than the coppery tang of blood. Burning flesh.

My world faded, and as darkness bloomed in my eyes, I slipped away...

*Curls up on the nearest person, sniffing.* X.x

This is why I hate the winter time. I get sick EVERY DAMN WINTER. D<< Right now, it's just a sinus thing... but I know in another week or so, I'll be really sick and feeling like crap JUST after my insurance gets cut out. x.x;;;

But...at the same time, I love the winter, because it's sooo pretty.

Maybe we have reasons for being grinches? Christmas doesn't go smoothly for everyone neutral

But today was better. I went to the pub and got drunk
