Luciano nodded understandingly. It reminded him so much of how he and Michelle met. . . Now he was feeling a little depressed again. "Sounds beautiful. . ." "Well," Johnny began, and stretched his wings out, as they were cramping from staying folded for too long, he continued "We don't "Hide" from you people. The reason why none of you have seen us yet is because you're not ready- Today proves it. None of you are ready to see us, and the only reason why you're looking at me now is because, well, you people have seen some pretty ******** up things already. Seeing a Heavenly messenger can't be THAT bad compared to what you've all been through." Johnny sat back and crossed his leg, and then yawned. He said, "Lucky for me, though, only you guys can see me- and maybe others of my kind. Don't ask me why. It's a long explanation and I don't feel like doing it right now." Johnny remembered the first time he saw a Seraphim; His wings were ******** huuuuge and he remembered the dramatic bright light that came with it, as well as the booming voice that told him "He was chosen", or some s**t. And that it was time for him to "answer his calling". Johnny also remembered how warm the light was, as well as the Seraphim's presence; So warm and benevolent. Snapping out of the past, Johnny said to Sabe, ". . You humanoids can be so psychotic, but you're still young. You're still learning. . "

Sabe let the explanation sink in. He took it at face value and didn't say anything.
Wait a minute... The more he thought about it, the deeper his scowl got.
"So..." Sabe started. "...you all will just let people suffer through a ton of s**t before you might consider appearing? Or are we just ragdolls to you guys? Are our troubles so entertaining for you all you won't do anything about it?" he continued, getting bitter. His face showed his effort to control himself.
Sabe kept looking at Johnny's face. Not too long later he gave up, his expression softened completely, and turned away. "Sorry..." he squeaked. It was useless. Sabe leaned against the wall closest to the door. Should I just shut up and leave already?

Johnny sat there and thought, ". . It's not like it's our choice. . My boss won't let us interfere with most of what happens here. ."Johnny couldn't say anything. Sabe, or anyone else, wouldn't understand the "politics" involved. So Johnny said, "Well. . I'm here now. And I'm not letting anything bad happen to you little "ragdolls"." Johnny forced a smile and continued to stay sitting back while looking up at Sabe.

KD looked at Luc a little confused but shrugged it off. "I am going to go have a smoke." She excused herself and stepped outside, she saw Sabe and Johnny standing and talking so she made sure she was far enough away to not intrude on them. She pulled out a cigarette, placed it in her mouth and patted her pocket for her box of matches. They weren't there... she sighed but then it dawned on her. She held her pointer finger up and it began to turn red. The color which flowed almost like water down her hand reached her wrist when a small flame flickered from the tip of her finger. She lit the cigarette. The fame and the color disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.

Johnny stayed sitting on the bench when KD came out. He gave her a little nod of acknowledgement, as he couldn't do much more since he was still conversing with Sabe. Johnny was listening to Sabe talk while he decided to scoot himself over on the bench, so KD could sit down.

Feeling too agitated and cooped up in her bathroom, Nari slowly stood up. 'I have to get out of here,' she thought before running a hand through her ponytail. Sitting around unnerved was doing her no good. She opened the door, looking around as if someone might be in the corner, and grabbed her training sneakers and simple black purse. She kicked off her lounge shoes and quietly left her room in socks. Not wanting to deal with Waffle or anyone else, she jumped-- literally-- down the stairs, landing in a low squat, and sprinted to the garage. With no shoes on, she was able to get down the hall without making any scuffling noises against the floor. She carefully opened and closed the door to the garage, slipped into her car, and was soon on the road. "Breathe," was all she said to herself to keep her hands steady on the steering wheel.
(Ehhh...)

KD saw Johnny's invitation and sat down next to him. She quietly smoked her cigarette trying not to be a bother.

There was a pause as Sabe recalled what happened before. "You only swooped in to help me at the last minute," he said, "probably so you can say nobody died on your watch. I don't care if you deny that was your reason. Prove me wrong. But I really doubt that we only see you because we've 'seen some ******** up things already'."
He hid his face with his hands, suddenly fixated on what he was about to continue with and unable to say anything. Soon he was tearing up. Without saying much else he slipped back inside and walked through one of the lesser-used ground floor corridors in HQ.

Night had fully embraced the city of Durem when Valindreth arrived. He stood motionless across from what he deduced was the entrance to HQ. In the darkness his ghost white hair and yellow eyes stood out in sharp contrast to his dark purple skin. He looked down at his right hand and tightened one of the straps holding his gauntlet in place before stepping forward and placing his palm flat on the door. He exhaled and took one last look around before pushing the door open and stepping inside.

"Second place is first loser..." Nariana grumbled to herself as she drove back to HQ. If you looked closely at the passenger seat, you could discern a small metal object catching the reflected light of the moon. It was a silver tiki trophy, her reward for competing with Barton's Olympic team. "What were they thinking this year making the games so messy and troublesome, anyway?" she continued to gripe to herself.
By the time the games were over, she was covered in bacon grease, sand, and mutant frog saliva. Disgusting much? So after joining her fellow athletes at the winners' circle, she immediately called a taxi and had it take her to her office for a hot shower and a change of clothes. The taxi driver didn't mind the slimy back seat after hearing her name and seeing her generous tip. After throwing out her previous outfit, she vowed never to eat bacon and hash browns again. Max, always working (or slacking off at night), drove her back to her car, and she filled him in about her recent slip of the tongue on the way.
Her final challenge would be facing Johnny again. But after surviving today, she wasn't so scared. Jumping into a frog's mouth and skinning her knees on hash browns should have sufficed for her mistake. After parking her car in the garage, she walked back through the lobby to find a shady-looking dark elf entering. Slipping her trophy behind her back in case he wasn't friendly, she spoke up.
"Can I help you?" she called out to the elf, brown eyes meeting yellow. She casually stepped in front of the stairs and awaited his response.

Valindreth's gaze had been locked onto her the moment she came into view, and as her eyes met his he held the gaze. He remained like this for what seemed longer than necessary. Then: "I wish to serve the Kuro Gang, and I was informed this was the home of an organization that did just that." His rich, deep voice filled the space between them as he spoke. The only other sound being the gentle flow of cool night air wafting in from the open door behind him.

It took forever for the stranger to speak up, but he finally did. 'What is with elves always being the dark, silent type?' she thought. Tilting her head sideways, as if she needed to get a better view of the man, she casually responded, "Hm. We haven't received a nighttime visitor in a while. Close the door gently, come with me, and please don't try any foolishness," the last part being a polite warning in case he was up to no good. Until she got Luciano to approve of him, she couldn't be too sure of his loyalty. She motioned for the elf to walk with her up the stairs-- not in front of her to run off, and not behind her to blindside her and then run off. "What's your name, and what brings you here at this time?" she asked him while they walked.

Without taking his eyes off her he slowly pushed the door closed behind him until the latch clicked into place and after a short pause, made his way toward her. He approached her at a slow pace, seeming somewhat apprehensive. Each step was soft and silent as if they carried no weight. When he was at arms length of her he released her from his gaze and instead focused it upon the top of the stairs. As they ascended his eyes flicked toward her and he spoke once again. "Take me to the one in charge and I will reveal that information. I simply do not wish to explain myself twice." His eyes then returned to the top of the stairs.

The elf's response made her eyebrow twitch in annoyance. 'Males...Always gotta make things difficult,' she thought. After his comment, she said nothing else to him. What was the point? They walked in silence for a few moments. Upon reaching the top of the stairwell, she turned down a hallway and stopped at Luciano's door. Knocking gently, she said, "We have a visitor."

Koji had been watching the Rejected Olympics all day, trying to see if he could catch a glimpse of anyone he knew. He was thoroughly surprised to see one of Gaia's most respected artists, Pepper Tea, participating with Team Barton. He spent hours in front of the TV occasionally cheering when Nari or Pepper came on screen but had eventually worn himself out and fallen asleep on the couch. It wasn't until much later, when a car pulled up and he heard some voices echo through the empty lobby that he woke up. It took him a little while to pull himself off the couch and find where his glasses had fallen off. "Hello?" Koji asked, peering around the lobby. He didn't see anyone, but he was sure he had heard voices. The HQ was seriously creepy after everyone was asleep. It made it feel like he was in a horror movie, and gave him uncomfortable flashbacks to his first Halloween party with the gang. "Oh well... I guess they just went back to their rooms." He made sure the front doors were locked before leaving the lobby. After his unintentional nap, he was too awake to go back to his own room and sleep, so instead Koji decided to look into some of the rooms he had never used before. "Well.. the kitchen's down there.. and the breifing room..." Koji mumbled to himself, looking off the the left of the stairs. After a quick metal walk through of the headquarters, he turned to the right. "Come to think of it.. I don't think I've ever been down this hall before." He said, and headed down the hall to the right.
