I used to watch Thomas the Tank Engine and he narrated it for a while after Ringo Starr. Then when I was older I learned he was a comedian.

George Carlin was a more in your face comedian. But he was a damn brilliant man and if you aren't easily offender, definitely track down the Seven Word skit. Really, any of his performances are good.

My sister informs me that George Carlin is "the dude from the movie Bill and Ted's excellent adventure."
So I did know him, I just didn't know of him. Or something. o_0;
