Sauvie Akuyoko Sauvie Akuyoko Sauvie Pokefloats and Rainbow cruise are 100% fine, great stages Ones I use quite often..... Endless mountain is a problem though. I do like both those stages, just other people don't. Icicle Mountain isn't bad once and a while either. @Fish: ANY GAME D< I only play icicle mountain when it is forced... I am against only 3 stages Endless Mountain Venom and Yoshi story 64 Great if you're a Jigglypuff player though xd Icicle Mountain I understand why people hate; Venom isn't bad; and yoshi's Story 64 is kinda funky xD Flat Zone is on my list of hate as well. How is Venom not a poorly made stage? Flat Zone is just annoying. Venom is just... small and hard to use. Not terrible, not great.

Denko I'm just glad there's a lot more exciting stages this time around. In Melee, a lot of stages were really plain. Yoshi's Island, the no-game stages (Final Destination and whatever the other one was) and stuff like that. Half of the fun in SSB is using the stage to your advantage, so it's exciting to see that there's more interaction this time. Especially the Warioware and Pictochat stages. Once again I want to make fun of all the people that turn off all the items and only play on Final Destination. That's so stupid. XD Yea, that might have been me. I dunno, I did it in certain situations. I liked to go there when I was focusing on fighting style. A specific fight against swordsmanship (I did some Marth vs. Roy fights there) and when I was training people in how to attack properly. My girlfriend was obsessed with Hyrule Temple though, and random stages. So I had my fair share of the stages, and yea, they are half the fun of the game.

I dont like it. @People-There is nothing wrong with Simple stages People, FD is one of my favourite stages and Dreamland is my favourite... Complexity is not a sure way to make fun.

The way I see it, the game doesn't need too many simple stages. Maybe 2 or 3 overall would do it.
After all, there's only a few kinds of simple and thousands of kinds of complex, if that makes sense.

True, flatzone does have nice music, and the pause zooming out thing is awesome. Venom... I dunno, don't use it that much. I do like Final Destination, simple can be good. Especially in epic 4 player matches.

I'm normally a runner, so Hyrule Castle is normally my ideal level. I'm not sure why people put all these limitations on the fights. No items, Final Destination, Lv. 9, 3 vs. you, they have handicaps, ect.

I think people play with no items for practice for tournaments where items are banned. I won't argue that they can't be fun though. I don't like playing against computers myself, or with items because it sort of turns the game more onto the side of luck based, even if it is only a slight difference.

Simple stages are great, but we don't need a lot of the "base platform with two or three platforms above" stages we had in Melee. And a lot of what we're seeing is not the boring stages, so I'm happy about that. mrgreen

After all, there's only a few kinds of simple and thousands of kinds of complex, if that makes sense. You make a good point, but I disagree a bit. The legal stages in tourneys are most of them, and there are 6 Neutrals. I think There should be an equal number of simple and complex stages, but not so Directly. If there was 10 stages in Melee and 5 were like FD and Battlefield I can see that getting very Dull, same as having 8 or 9 Complex stages would make things seem to Gimmicky. I would say Why cant the complex and simple come together then I look at Brawl. Pokemon stadium 2: 2 of the stages are simple and basic, while 3 are gimmicky (Ice, Conveyor belt and the Low gravity) Wario ware's basic Hub is a flat stage with platforms, then You get the Microgames. Halberd is Flat with a platform but then there is a freaking Canon later on and who knows what else. I think people are so annoyed with the Tourneyfag (not my word but still..) community because the jump between interesting and simple in Melee was too visible. Rainbow Cruise-FD is an enormous change and I think that there are only 2 categories in Melee (gimmick and Basic). Where the ideal thing would be (Gimmick-Hybrid-Basic) and Brawl seems to be doing this quite well so far.

But sometimes simple are just all I cn bare if I'm not in the mood to go on a wild goose chase.

Some of the stages for Brawl are kinda lame. They are just a stage with 3 platforms and some crazy s**t happening in the Background. Of course, I might be missing some stuff.
At the same time, stages like WarioWare and PictoChat, are totally awesome. RAWK.

I think that each character will have a stage + extra stages like pictochat and stuff. We'll be getting lots of stages.
