Marlene ducked down behind the bar and put her arms over her head, as if she was expecting an explosion.
Kaether's own nodachi appeared in the churning of air and the singing of her blade,"No need for the girl to be injured either...I suppose its ladies first then, Brother." She kept her eyes on him as she stepped outside, and positioned herself a reasonable distance away,"You can fight at full force, this time, as there's no idiot in the way."

"If there was no idiot in the way, I wouldn't be fighting. So what's your purpose here, puppet?"
The SOLDIER took his familiar stance, with his sword pointed towards his foe, and prepared for battle. He'd let her make the first move, and interrupt with Scintilla.

She took a similar stance as she spoke,"A puppet with its strings cut. I only want my connection to Jenova back, is that so wrong of me?"
She shifted slightly so that if he attacked she could slip around him to attack from behind. She knew better than to try and match strength.

He spotted the shift in stance. She was a bit of an amateur, but he had to give her credit. She didn't just dive in and swing, so he'd try a different tactic. She wanted behind him? He'd give it to her. after a short hop, he used a technique called Oblivion, which allowed him to move behind her in the blink of an eye, with his twenty or so sword slashes hitting as he flicked the blood off his blade behind her. Simple to use, hard to stop. His focused blade sang with delight.
"How's that?"

She should have expected it, but the air was still driven from her lungs as the multitude of slashes drove her to the ground. Luckily this allowed her to reorient herself to face him at his back. She took a half step back, her blade already glowing blue as she came in with a blindingly fast uppercut that would send him into the air.

He had to admit, she was innovative. He let out a small grunt as he went flying, but didn't stop the inertia. He rolled with it, coming out high above her. He grinned as he thrust his blade skyward, the air crackling with energy, and used Shadow Flare.

Rather than fleeing, Kaether launched herself toward the deadly black orbs, allowing them to overshoot her. At the same time, her blade glowed with a mako light. She slashed a wave of energy at him and shot past with impossible speed as the blade beam connected. By the time that it would register on anyone's senses, she was already behind Sephiroth with another vicious slash that sent him back to the ground.

She was better than he had originally anticipated. She had caught him off guard again, but that was alright. As her final slash connected, he unleashed the energy he'd been saving and unfurled his single black wing. the outrush of energy deflected the blow, and he quickly used Oblivion to send her back toward the ground. Mako energy gathered around him in a brilliant aura and his feathers danced on a phantom breeze as a circle of energy formed around his foe.
"Heartless Angel, harvest her sins."

Kaether was drained of both her energy and lifeforce by that last attack, leaving her nearly dead. It would be dishonorable to run, but suicide held no honor either... She allowed her sword to vanish from her hands, and held them up in defeat,"I am beaten, please allow me to retreat."

His wing and sword vanished, and he allowed himself to drop, landing slowly in front of her.
"Retreat is not an option. Surrender is not an option. You are beaten, and now have died. The life you live now must be without a false Mother. I advise you to fight against that influence before it destroys your honor."
As he walked away, a gesture of his hand sent the healing energies of a Cure3 her way.

"I was born to follow orders, and you ask me to go against that purpose?" she moved to follow Sephiroth,"What would you have me do, then? Wander about aimlessly?" she didn't sound angry or depressed, merely matter-of-fact. After all...what good was a puppet without a master?

with that he vanished, only to reappear a short distance away in the slums, outside that familiar church.
"Look at me, giving advice."
He fetched a heavy sigh and continued the search for Yuffie. His footsteps were muted by the dust of ages as he stepped toward the doors and the figure that stood there.

ash sensed sephiroth outside the church doors he murmured "oh gosh you again and turned towards the door griping his side and staggered towards the door hand on his sword ready for anything
then seeing yuffie was there he then stumbled to the front near zack and aerith smiled at zack and shoot a worried look at aerith because she did not yet notice the blood on some of the flowers he then went over to the front pew and layed there griping his side so the flowing blood would not get on the floor but more importantly the floweres

Kaether mulled over the advice,"Orders from the original...good enough for now, I suppose." She started off toward...well, she didn't know just yet, but she would soon enough. If she got stuck, she would have to come back, but until then...

Yuffie nearly jumped out of her skin at the friendly greeting, but recovered quick enough to nearly knock Sephiroth over. "I'm so glad to see you, but you're in so much trouble! You totally wrecked Tifa's bar! You gotta pay for that...but first, you gotta help me find Kaia..." While she was happy to see her husband, she was still upset over the disappearance of her daughter.
It was then, that the silver-haired child ran up and hugged onto her father's leg. She didn't say anything, only pointed at Shards, to show that she was afraid of the strange woman.
