Because the french feared the yew bow so much, whenever they captured a british soldier they would chop off their middle finger, thus making them unable to 'pluck the yew' (which is what they called it). So what happened was after the Battle of Agincourt, British soldiers would proudly hold up their middle fingers to the fleeing french to say that they can still 'pluck you'. The 'pl' became anglicized as 'f' and thats where we get that we can " ******** you". dramallama ah.....my nation's proud history

Extremely relieved that my dad's alright, on crutches for now, but alright. He needs to stop being stubborn though, even when they sawed in to his knee he's still trying to get around the house. >.>
