The group had received their meals a while ago and were almost finished now. Koji was hopelessly stabbing at his last pile of garlic mashed potatoes, wishing he had more room to eat them. Eventually he gave up and looked out the window at the storefronts across the street. He had enjoyed going out and relaxing for a change, the light conversation and a good meal was nice. Before he had a chance to thank Nari again for the meal, the sound of an explosion shook the windows. "Holy s**t.." Koji nearly toppled the table trying to get up so he could find where it came from. After he got to the right angle he saw just down the street that there was fire billowing out of one of the shops.

KD had kept quiet for awhile taking in Koji's story about his shop. When the explosion happened she nearly chocked on her last bite of steak. After what felt like an eternity of being stunned she jumped from the table and ran outside without thinking. She ran towards the burning building, her only thought was saving anyone who was inside or healing anyone who was injured. She got ahead of herself, and was right next to the burning building when it flared up sending her flying back landing on the concrete some 20 ft away. Everything looked red, then faded into black.

KD didn't answer, she was fully unconscious... she had burn marks on her face and arms, she was breathing, but very slowly.

Koji didn't have much time to react as they followed after KD. "What does she think she's doing?" He thought as they rushed to the car and took off after her. The next thing he knew, she was flying back and Nari was by her side. Koji jumped out of the car to help get Nari carry KD, and quickly got her laid down in the back seat. "C'mon, let's get her to a hospital as soon as possible." As they started to pull away, Koji noticed a familiar face run out of the flames with a couple people on his back. Isn't that..? He thought, as he looked back at the man again. They continued to drive away as Koji came to the realization. "I just figured out what building that was. "The man outside was Louie VonHelson.. it was H&R Wesley that got attacked. Do you think the vampires are planning something?"

(o.o $#!+ got real.)

The nurses at the hospital were overwhelming them, but Nari finally spoke up in her business voice-- void of emotion but firm. "She goes by the name KD. We were having dinner nearby, and she ran off to make sure no one else was in the store. A small explosion of flames sent her flying several feet into the air. We chased after her and found her already unconscious. Do what you must to help her, and you better report back to us if anything else serious happens." The last sentence was said with a little curtness. Nari's chest felt hollow from extreme concern for her friend, but she kept that feeling on the inside. Her job required her to remain calm in tense situations like this, so holding back her emotions came naturally. She curled her left hand into a fist as she watched the doctors roll KD away. 'Please be okay...' she thought, half-heartedly wishing KD could hear her.

As Johnny disappeared as fast as he came, Sabe stayed in place. ...... He was burnt out from everything that happened today and couldn't handle much more. He stood up from the couch and got into Luciano's bed, slowly crawling under the sheets, to get some sleep.

In the OR...

The surgeons and nurses were frantic while working on KD. "She's bleeding internally..." one surgeon advised. One nurse placed a breathing mask on KD's face while others quickly moved about to get the instruments that the surgeons needed. Once everything was ready, the main surgeon took a scalpel and began to cut into KD's stomach. "Clamp." He said while his hands were inside her feeling around for the bleed. As he reached in with the clamp he put it just slightly out of place which caused the bleed to gush out of KD's body. "s**t!" He removed the clamp and as he did KD's monitor flat lined. "Paddles! Hold pressure on the bleed until I say!" He grabbed the paddles, "Clear!"... still a flat line. The nurses held pressure between charges. "CLEAR!" Again, nothing.

After about four more tries, the surgeon sighed... "Call it..." "Time of death-" Before the other surgeon could finish a surge of energy filled the room, the monitor started beeping loud and fast, KD's eyes shot open and with them a blinding light filled the room. Her bleeding has stopped, and the surgeons and nurse were blinded while KD's body seemed to heal itself. The power in the whole hospital went out in a flicker. KD's body was seizing frantically, and once it stopped she passed out and the power was restored. Her monitor was beeping normally now, leaving the people in the OR looking on in disbelief.

'If we knew what was going on, do you think we'd still be here standing around? Does no one have sense today?!' Nari wanted to say at Luciano's stupid question, completely flustered and irritated. Instead, she quietly said, "Perhaps we should let Johnny find out and report back," her voice straining to sound level and calm. Her hand was still clenched into a tight fist by her side.

First, her nice day out is ruined by KD's irrational savior mode, then people bombard her with the same question over and over, and Johnny decides to startle her now of all times!...'I need to sit down or something. It must be that time of the month. Too much madness at once,' she thought and sighed. She pulled out her cell phone to check the time before moving near the left wall and leaning her back on it for support.
