-waits a moment, just grinning, before continuing-
So I said to him, I said, "FAH!! That's nonsense!! Gimme that whip, and I'll show you it's all nonsense!! How much is it??"
And he just smirked at me, but he took up the challenge. He says to me, "You got 3,000 dollars?"
And that made me freeze. How could that thing be so much!? It was cursed!! But it was BECAUSE it was cursed that it cost so much. And of course, I was only 14, so I didn't have all that money! I had 50 bucks in my pocket, for a first payment on a gun, but that was IT. So this is what I do...
I say to him, I say, "Listen here, mister! You say that no one can ever keep this thing? And they all come back screaming and hollering?"
And he nods at me.
So I say, "Well, how about THIS."
And I slam the 50 bucks down on the counter, and I say, "Here's 50 bucks, to make sure I don't run off with the thing. I NEED that 50 bucks, it's all I got left. Trust me on that."
And he looks at me, giving me the stink-eye. And he says, "What is it you wawnt, boay? I'm not letting you run off and leavin' me with 50 bucks without a good reason!"
So I say, I say, "Lookie here!! I give you my 50 bucks now, and I take that whip. If I can't work it after 3 days, I'll give it back, and you can keep my 50 bucks--BUT."
And Paul squints at me.
"BUT! If I can work this thing, and I don't have any problems with the Devil, I get to keep it, and you get the 50 bucks."
-pauses again-
"So, did he agree to your deal? What else, what else?!?!" She exclaims with childish glee, wanting to hear the rest of the story.
-jumps up and down and laughs when she squeals in her glee, as he continued with his story-
And he took the deal!!
He said he said, "Fine, boay, but you've been warned!"
And he laughed at me rather evily...but he let me have it!!
So I walked out the store with it, and I was real skeptical. I walked off down the road, inspecting it. It was all tattered, and I wondered how the hell it could come to be known as cursed, and worth 3000 dollars. I was all enveloped in my curiosity, checking the length of the whip, gripping at the hilt here and there. I didn't even notice as a huge shadow came up behind me...
-trails off dramatically, looking away off-handedly like it's no big deal-
-glances at her to see her expression-

"Dammit!! Why do you keep stopping at the good parts?!" She exclaims angrily, making several heads from the Order turn to look at the two, then go on in their merry way doing god knows what.
She grabs his shoulders and shakes him again.
"What was the shadow?? Was it an Akuma?? Or...was it a Noah?? Or a General..Tell me!!" >3<
"OW OW OW!!!" He jumped and grabbed at his shin, hopping, "WHAT WAS THAT FOR!??!"
gonk
"Jeez, woman!!" He grumbled but stopped hopping and continued with his story, smiling a little.
"So I'm walking, and all of a sudden, a shot goes past my head!! I jumped out of my skin and turned around, and sure enough, there was a HUGE Akuma!! I didn't really know what it was at the time, but I had heard stories. And my mind flicked back to what Paul had said.
But I wasn't gonna give up without a fight. I had only ever had a few lessons with a whip before, but I knew the basic. So I unrolled it, and I cracked it once.
Nothing happened. In fact, the Akuma started shooting at me more. I was dodging them easily at this point. It was just a level one, so it couldn't do anything but moan at me, and keep shooting.
So, I kept cracking the whip at it. It left some slashes, but nothing enough to do any real damage. So I was getting frustrated as I was dodging the attacks still.
Finally I flailed, shaking the whip angrily, and I said, I said
'COME ON, YOU STUPID WHIP!! GO!!!'
And at that instant, when I cracked it, fire darts shot out from the tip of it!!
I was totally freaked out. How could the thing make fire!? It was a whip!! But I was really desperate now, so I cracked the whip at the Akuma again. And sure enough, more sparks came out!!
They shot into the Akuma, doing a lot more damage than the whip had done by itself, without the flame. So I kept at it, and the sparks got bigger!!
Finally, I cracked her, and BAM!!
These huge flame tongues shot out, gripping around the Akuma!!"
He paused again, making her wait in suspense, ready to dodge her kick.
"Did you beat it? I mean..sure you did..its a level one after all....what else happened?" She fired off questions like a kid would, curious as a cat still. She tapped the foot patiently, the same one that kicked him in the shin, as if it was daring him to stop again. She continues to lean against the wall, slightly leaning forward to listen to the story better, her arms occasionally flailing when she was hyper.(( @Esme: O3O!! HAI HAI ESME! *huggle/luffles* ))
