"Partly just enjoyable family interaction, and a little buisness involved as well. and it was her idea to be all fancy today. if you'd like, we can get you and Kieran an outift or have one made if you so wish to get in on the fanciness."
A slight grin, and that look that probably only Piper would know, the subtle, devious look. everything was going fine.
Onyx nodded lightly.
"Alright, then anything in there at has any relevant info on a possible location?"
flipping through pages upon pages of maps, looking over them and noting severl variations of the same map. like it was different aspects of the same area.
"Did you notice that alot of these seperate maps have the same basic areas in them? like it's describing somethign different in the same place."

He gave a little amused look as she decided to perch on the arm of his own chair, not that he minded really. Hey to him it was overly fascinating. Female drow within breathing distance really and she wasn't slaughtering him or threatening him for that matter. Oh you could see that little scholarly glint in his own triple colored eyes. "Yes, though we're trying to not speak too much on business, least we be hurt."
How did she know Malik was deviously pleased? He hadn't made an ill comment or snide look at Zahara the entire morning. Elven Gods forgive her for thinking good on it...but it was so nice not having them fight or even pick at each other. Just being pleasant with one another. This was what she wanted, but under normal circumstances that seemed too much to ask. He was even offerings in nondemeaning fashion. "Oh we knew he was dying to come back and this was just the perfect excuse." But a chuckle. "Dropped you, not at all. Remember how devious we're supposed to be. I'm sure this is all a front." Which in part it was...though she did like being fancy. D'vinns just seemed so and well it gave that truly adult air.

She looked at Malik with wide eyes, "Me? Fancy? Perish the thought. That's quite alright, I'll let you two do so all by yourselves. Personally I like scheming." She leaned back a little bit, shifting but being careful that her skirt still covered everything it was supposed to. Truly showing how laid back she was, a glance at her thigh would reveal she was sans daggers for once in her life. Indeed the mellowness had kept her from putting them on this morning and that was a big deal. "As long as you intend to help me scheme once again, all is well."

Yes, Malik may not be wearing Malvolence, but that didn't mean he was unarmed. throwing daggers in those bracers took care of the armed part of things.
"And I'm sure Piper will be back to scheming with you by tomorrow at the latest"

A little shrug. "So I had to take days or so break from the scheming. Don't want to exhaust all the ideas at once, now do we. Besides," A pat to Malik's chest, "gotta keep him from being suspicious of my acitvities, thus the breaking it up and making him play fancy and house all in one fell swoop." A gesture to the surrounding space. "See, I already have him decorating and dressing to my tastes. Who knows what's in store next."
"Indeed I think I'll have to. I do say my interest is quite taken with this." A little chuckle at it, Kieran ever the scholar in these years now. He crossed his arms lightly, looking to each of them in turn and even up as if he could actually look at Raziel too. Of course the mention fo weapons made him look for them, and there were none to be seen on any of them...except Kieran himself. That was funny. "I'll have to start myself a new journal...don't want to write in Raziel's." Yes, Kieran had about two and a half journals on the little creature.

"Sounds good to me, just like something you would do." she glanced around the house and was surprised to see that it had indeed changed, now when had that happened? She must have missed it at some point or another. She shifted a bit on the couch and glanced down at her thighs then shrugged, "Just didn't feel like being all intimidating today. Besides, I still have my magic." So saying her hand filled with faerie fire then that little ball disappeared entirely. "So technically I am still armed, just not with physical weapons." She turned and almost fell off the chair at the sight of that little blue angel on Kieran's shoulder. She remembered him briefly from the interaction with Tarhu but...it was kind of different to see him sitting there with his wings and blue skin.

"More and more journals. I'd be quite surprised if you didn't have an entire library full of nothing but those."
Though a look at Zahara, and a slight smirk when she nearly fell from her perch.
"Magic will not do much on those in present company, I would think. though I will say that I liken your bare thighs more so to something else then simple lack of the need to feel intimidating."
So he was allowed to poke a bit.
"And I bet the other Drow will be back here before nightfall. probably to come and yell at me for something or other or accuse all of us of deception or magic tricks or drugs or some such. Personally I think he just likes it better here then whatever little hole he lives in. free food and all that."

Raziel waved at Zahara, her presence reminding him greatly of Toharu, and again he wonder just what had happened to her and what it was he would be finding out form the little fairy. "I'm hardly that interesting Keiran, really I don't know how you could fill that much about me."
"Yeah, I've noticed that, ut I'm not versed in map reading, I haven't a clue what it all means."
She cleared her throat. "But the text mentions a place that sounds like something that I remember. You know..the place I lived before I was captured by Dimitri"

A little look to Zahara at her shifting and balancing a moment. No one liked to get dumped on after all. "Not quite thier own library yet...though that's soon changing." Well...it was two shelved walls that were quickily going to evolve into a room of their own. One would think Kieran had too much free times on his hand...he was just a fast and mass writer. He shifted slightly in his chair, mainly because his sword's sheath was digging into his back but he didn't seem to mind, notice, or complain about that all too much now did he?
"Magic is indeed powerdul on its own...but only when you don't warn about it dear drow. Magical defenses are the easiest to throw up, after all." At least in his opinion. Though he didn't give quite the positive reaction to Malik's mentioning of the other drow, for he was quite sure he was speaking of Sevilin. Kieran preferred to not have to avoid that confrontation just yet. Though he brightened at Raziel. "Oh you're just oblivious to yourself my friend."
Piper shook her head lightly at them all, really when they were all in a room and pleasant together it was quite nice. Except Malik got an elbow to the side. "You shouldn't be commenting on anybody's bare thighs to begin with." Nice little possessive joke followed by one of her chuckles. Then a frown. "Well I hope not...I care not to deal with his attitude anymroe today." Not to mention she was sure his brain was figuring things and well, she was quite guilty of a few things. "I still hope he falls, passes out, and gets eaten by something."

"Really? A homecoming type trip may be the call of the day?"
He didn't seem to pay to much mind. if she wanted to tell him anymore than that, she'd tell him. and if he pried..she'd probably either yell at him about it being none of his buisness or whack him with ther staff.
Malik only chuckled lightly.
"I can't help but notice, she's barely wearing anything to cover them up. Not to mention that's where she normally keeps her weapons."
Then a shrug.
"If sevilin gets eaten..we'd have to find a replacement. Now that we do know that his teacher was surface born, per hsi rondabout admitance, we might inquire as that that one. Other than that, I'd prefer him alive but controlable."
though a glance at Raziel.
"I can read your expression easily enough. I can have one of the servants carry you to the other fairy if you'd prefer, Raziel."
Not to mention it might be easier on the female to be just around him, as opposed to everyone else.

She shook her head at Malik and rested her hands on her thighs where her daggers usually were. It was kind of strange to know he was looking. "He won't be back, once he leaves he doesn't' come back. Nor will he get eaten, too damn stubborn for that." She knew that well enough from all the lessons they'd done together. In any case she didn't want him coming back anyway, not after the way he'd stormed out but again, destroying the happy so she stopped thinking about it and smirked at Raziel. She did miss Tarhu though... wondered where the little faerie was and what she was up to. But she glanced at Kieran and nodded, "Yes but I assume I"m safe with present company. Although I could be wrong..."

She didn't look all that happy about the subject. "Homecoming? I suppose you could call it that." She wasn't sure why, but she felt frightened aobut that place. It had nasty memories attached to it afterall.
She closed the book, grabbed the maps and stood. "I suppose no time like the present." And walked out of the lybrary.
Raziel shrugged. "Well, I was enver needed to know all aobut myself. That wasn't my purpose." But he smiled, merley stating and old fact. But on mention of being brought to Toharu, alone, her grabbed and Kieran's hair and held himself there. "I'm not going down there alone." More the prospect of a necromatic basement than the all too personal fairy.

"Oh don't be a man, you can control where your eyes go." Perhaps a bit defensive? Well she was ever mindful of Zahara's earlier warnings, no matter how drugged and stuck on one drow she may be. Paranoia. One of those displeased looks as both Malik and Zahara made mention that Sevilin wouldn't be meeting with misfortune. One thought him too stubborn and the other thought him to valuable. But good luck finding a replacement, she knew that. Stupid Sevilin. "I would still enjoy it none the less."
"Indeed you are." Kieran chuckled lightly as Raziel's grabbing...if there was someplace he didn't want to go and if he didn't want to be away from Kieran for that matter, nine times out of then no one could pry that little fairy off his person. "What if someone was to go with you? You would go then, yes?" It was quite obvious that the familiar was worried, and Kieran knew easily. They were quite attuned to each other.

Well hey look, a chance to get away from Malik's smirking grins and this family gathering and see Toharu. "I'll take him down there if that will make him feel better." Yes, she was actually volunteering for something, shocking wasn't it? "I mean if that's okay with you, Raziel, and you too Kieran, of course. I wouldn't want to upset anyone but I have no problems with the basement, in fact I've been down there myself a few times and as long as I know where I'm going I should be fine. Might grab my daggers just in case though..." A glance at Raziel, "Would that please you little one?"

It took Raziel about two seconds to decided on that one. ""It certainly dosen't displease me," he adressed both Kieran and Zahara. "As long as I can be assured that there won't be any necromatic activity while there." He didn't think he'd ever get over Malik's little blast, even if he ahd forgiven him. He losened his grip on Kieran's head. As long as he wasn't alone in that basement, he was fairly certain he was okay with that. "Are you alright with that as well, Kieran?" He may not adress Kieran with titles or sumbmissives, but hey, he was still a familiar.
