"Really?" Vadin asked sadly, toying with a strand of Khalid's hair. They were both on the couch, with Khalid sitting up and Vadin laying down, his head in Khalid's lap. His body was a 20-ish year old male with raven-colored hair. Khalid was looking off to the side, partially ignoring the other. "I mean, what's so important there? You said you wanted to stay near all of them. Where does Egypt come into any of this?"
"They are here now, it's true, but sooner or later they will have to go." Khalid said in that emotionless, grave voice he always had. Reaching up, he took Vadin's hand in his own and looked down at him. "Bakura is already being drawn there, and it shouldn't be too long until the pharaoh begins to feel it as well. I have been feeling it for the past few weeks..." Sighing slightly, he shook his head. "My point is simple. When both Bakura and Atem go to Egypt, the others who are needed will follow. We may have to get those who are meaningless out of the picture. But with Bakura sharing the body with the boy, I doubt any of them will want to stay behind."
"Yeah, I guess I understand all of that." Vadin said, rolling over so that he was on his stomach and propping his chin up on his hands. "But why? I'm sure you know, oh-so-creepy one. Is something to be discovered in Egypt, something that couldn't possibly wait until later?" He leaned up and kissed the tip of Khalid's nose.
"No, it won't wait any longer. It has waited too long already." Khalid said, only then realizing that he had started to shake slightly. Every part of him needed to go to Egypt, his body and mind longed for his old homeland more than anything. "But with the recent events... things will be harder. Kira and Ryou's little mishap, for instance." He smirked slightly and kissed Vadin in response. "Now, I can let you choose... Would you like those two to stay together or be parted for good? This can be a little treat for you. It doesn't matter, since everything will happen the same way no matter who's together. It's a shame they're so easy to manipulate, though. I like challenges. Bakura and Malik was one of those challenges... I'm glad everything's working smoothly with them."
Vadin laughed slightly. "Let me think about it for a little while." He said against Khalid's lips, in response to the question about his 'treat'. "It was actually funny how Bakura had stopped himself because of Malik before. I mean, what would have happened if he and Kira had gone all the way? He wouldn't keep his end of the deal, but since they hadn't done anything the deal is off, which is the same had he stopped or not. Would Ryou have still discovered, and would Kira have plucked her Millennium Eye out, or was that something else all together?" He wrapped his arms around Khalid's neck, nuzzling close.
"Well, of course. What other event could we have blamed Ryou's loss of sanity?" Khalid asked, then the two were silenced as they deepened their kiss for a few moments. They pulled away, and Khalid continued. "Nothing's as bad as seeing your dead lover in front of you and knowing that you had been the cause. But Kira is needed, so Ryou will have to be contained for a little while until his impulses to kill her have passed and she's strong enough to protect herself more. The nearest mental hospital will do nicely, hmm?" Vadin laughed and nodded his head, and Khalid ran a hand through his own violet hair.
