Takedown wins again, but at what cost? If Nova's large hurricane hadn't knocked Jack off, the Dark Pulse surely would have. Night had to help his teammate, no question about it. "Protect the precious," Night said, pointing to Jack. His hands would now come over his ears in preperation. "Alright Lairon," Night continued, "use Metal Sound on those two dudes." Turning so he was in range of both Pokémon, Lairon let loose a powerful ear piercing shriek worse than the Sneasel's screech. Though Night didn't think of it, this attack may or may not have reached Jack, though if it did the attack wouldn't really do anything, right?

RC has to re-light his Kiseru after Night's story. It sure explained a lot about her. " Well, I guess I have one I could add, although Sub has already heard a brief bit about it." he says.

Freth listened in with Night, actually a bit satisfied that someone else decided to take the plunge in story telling. Though part of that, she wondered, if the liquor was talking. Before she could say a word, however, her instincts tripped. A presence she was unfamiliar with. She got up and started her way towards the door. She would find me making my way there as well, curious as to what it was outside. ".........I don't know who that is." Freth said.
"Neither do I..." I told her.
"Do we look?"
"Last time someone came to our base of operations right out of the blue like this with a casual hello, a fight broke out between us and two rangers. And Sub didn't exactly say anything about anyone coming here."
"Difference is, it doesn't feel that strong. Above human standards, but...not that much. And for the record, does Sub EVER tell us someone new is coming here?"
"You're right..." I said.
"Should I?"
I readied an Ice Beam. "Go for it."
I took a few steps back and allowed Freth to answer the door, only for her to see there...a Furret hybrid. "Uh...yes?"

Want to know the weird part? The Hurricane wasn't even necessary. When the Lairon took off for Take Down, Jack just kind of... fell off. He hadn't been holding on at all! None the less, he would be struck by the winds. They caused him to start rolling around unwillingly, but he didn't try to protest. He just flashed bright pink and sent those winds spiraling back to their source, imbued with Jack's Mirror coat! If he had the drive to actually move, Jack would have tried to use his arm-like ears to try to block that metallic sound. Well, as you probably guessed, he didn't. So, he just sat there, feeling his Special Defense drop. "Wynaut" He sighed.
Maia pumped her fist! This is why she loved that little lazy thing. He literally didn't move even to save his own well being, but he knew what he was doing!Maia figured that it was sad that she could rely on him most, even though he didn't listen to a thing she said. He was undoubtedly her strongest, smartest, most determined pokemon!

The Furret's eyes went wide and he stiffened -- two Articuno hybrids and one of them didn't look so happy. "Um, um. Did I come at a bad time?" He took a step back, raising his hands tentatively. "This would hardly be a fair fight, you know. You...with you feathers...and scary looking energy balls."

Nova was assaulted by the fierce winds, leaving her on her last legs. Deciding to try a new tactic in her current state, Nova charged forward before opening her mouth and biting down on the Wynaut. She had used Bug Bite from what she had learned with her previous attacks and prayed it would work.
At the sidelines, Reno felt another pulse from the meteorite, this time forcing him to shut his eyes a second to force it back. This battle better end quickly, otherwise, there might be a situation on their hands. Leslie kept on cheering, her helper Fenrir keeping up with her while the unnamed Abra kept the beat.

From beside the door, a brown-haired, glasses-wearing human poked his head into view. Upon spotting the soft, icy blue glow of the beam's charge, he retreated back to the side. "Some welcome this is."
"Calculating possible escape path to avoid ice beam trajectory," Came a more robotic, digitized voice.

"Where is Reno?" Sub said as he began to roam the main area of HQ, looking for the trainer in question.

Okay, so the first Dark Pulse seemed to miss Jack entirely. No biggie. He and Titan were still focused on Nova, so...
"Try that again, Sneasel!"
Another black ball of energy was sneezed out of Sneasel's mouth, aimed directly at Wynaut. Hopefully, with no distraction this time, the attack would prove more accurate...

"Jeez, you two really need to work on your people skills....," Eve said, having followed Freth from the kitchen to see what the fuss was about. Truth was, she just wanted to get away from all the crazy story-telling. Squeezing between Blizz and Freth to catch a look at the new hybrid, the girl gave Blizz a hard stare before moving to stand between them and the Furret, "Or at least your hospitality. Now put that thing away before you put someone's eye out, Blizzy."
Shaking her head softly, the girl turned towards the Furret, "Oh no, you're fine. They're just a little uneasy around new folks. Think it's an ice-type thing. My aunt Aurora's the same way. Anyways, is there something we can help you with?"

[oops, sorry. Been kinda sick lately, and I totally missed your post]
Jack was in a bad situation! That dark pulse was headed straight for him! With his recently lowered special defense, the attack would deal more damage! What's even worse for him was that it would be super effective! noooo! Maybe he should do a dodge roll! Or... or.. a back flip! Nope, none of that nonsense! Jack would just sit there and be faceblasted by the Dark Pulse. The dark chi was just so... so... effective it even cut through the Mirror coat and didn't get bounced back! Jack, who had been knocked skyward, landed with a small "fwump". And so he laid there, stiller than a Jack. As he laid there, a dark, ghostly aura flared up around him, peeling off of him like tendrils of flame! What could this be? Was it a move?

((Did everybody just ignore my metal sound 0.0))
Meanwhile, Larry would have just woken up from his nap, feeling refreshed and back to normal. Looking down, he saw that Snips had fallen asleep as well, a stolen ball in her hand. That was]when Larry remembered his current situation. Rising up, Larry would notice the er door opening. Stepping out would be Lancer, fixed and back to normal. "Seems like that power has left you now," Larry said, looking over Lancer curiously. "But where did it all go? It doesn't matter, right now there's still the question, are you fight ready?" Lancer puffed out its chest proudly as if to say "of course."

"Oh, no, I can appreciate that a mercenary group might be a little paranoid," said the Furret, but he smiled with the girl's warmer welcome. "We mean you no harm. Honest. And at any rate I doubt we could even be a blip on your radar."

Eve tilted her head slightly before trying to look behind the Furret, "We?" She didn't see anyone when she first got to the door, but then again, she hadn't really been looking either, "You got someone else with you?"

Nova watched the tendrils appear from the little Wynaut. Knowing what must be done, she flew straight into them, allowing herself to take whatever it was for the little Sneasal. She knew that it was a newer creature and wouldn't stand against whatever this was. So she would protect it and let it finish it's own fight. Nova was on her last legs anyways and the Metal sound was not helping her at this moment.
Reno watched this at the sidelines, the meteorite's dull ache in his mind detracting his attention from the fight. Nova knew what to do, so he could focus on his internal struggle. Forcing the meteorite's will back again, he felt it not disappear fully, but instead become a dull ache in his mind. This fight better be done quick or Reno might lose it.
