I tried gaslighting for fun and profit, but it backfired and we all got a little less sane
(ehehe, all according to plan)

Hahahahahahahahahahaha... Plans. Diabolical. >D Are you sure you haven't been over to my house lately? Either it's haunted, someone's over here gaslighting me, or they don't need to gaslight me 'cause I'm already crazy. I keep seeing something tall, dark, and noisy. Lorika Gaslighting takes its name from the 1930's-ish movie Gaslight, which features a husband plotting against his wife for her money. He engineers the gas lights in the house to flicker at intervals and implies to her that she's the only one who can see them flickering, to convince her she's losing her mind. Gaslighting is therefore tricking somebody to the extent that they begin to doubt their own perception and sanity. I read a feminist blogger recently describe the kind of psychological games where you get upset at somebody for, say, making you wait for them for three hours after they said they'd be there, and they tell you "Calm down, you're so sensitive!", i.e basically pushing the blame onto you for something you didn't do, forcing you to question your own mental stability i.e "Am I really just over-sensitive?" So yes, it's a form of psychological abuse that covers a wide range of controlling techniques. I dont think Hana meant it badly though! Hahahaha I actually had to watch the newer version of it, but yeah. Psychological abuse is just about it. It was the corniest movie I've ever seen in black and white and It scared the living daylights out of me. XD My old manager was doing that to us, so I guess I can say from experience it's pretty useless as long as you're wise to it and not... gullible? @Storm: Also, I must say that even though you have a terribly pessimistic outlook, I don't think that necessarily gives you an edge on those of us who aren't...? I can spot when someone's using me and I'd say I'm not terribly vulnerable to deception either.

MAB I WILL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT I appreciated your amazing prank 3nodding
Bravo!
@hana ooooooh what kinds of sounds do you hear? o3o If it sounds like miniature horns and squeaky giant shoes you're probably being haunted by the ghost of a circus clown. WHICH IS HORRIBLE, BECAUSE CLOWNS ARE TERRIFYING D:
You've actually seen the movie? That's so awesome! =D
And I am going to back you up... yes, Storm does have a very pessimistic outlook, and I'm not sure if it's helping him from being hurt by other people because, well, it just keeps on happening doesn't it? D:

Do you want to know what ELSE has a pessimistic outlook? The comment question of the day (XD) Anyway, so I've been playing with a fun little program. It's called IOgraph and it tracks your mouse movements and makes a nice picture out of them. I have found that FPS games leave rings around the center, and occasionally some thick streaks along the horizontal, halfway up. When I go on Gaia, it tends to leave a lot of splotches (indicating a mouse sitting there for a while. bigger dot = longer sit). OH WHAT FUN to analyze dots and lines to figure out where your mouse has been

So apparently Lorika dancing will make my computer die and make me lose my game :/ It would seem that although you can't cure my hunger with words, you can motivate my action by dancing. XD and it isn't Pessimism, it's cynicism :p helps one differentiate between what one can put up with or not easier.

Here's something with a pessimistic outlook on life: a good majority of the adult life around me. Seriously guys, it's toxic. And not the good kind. o.O
As for gaslighting...I can't recall any times where my friends and I have tried that on anybody, and I KNOW it hasn't been tried on me...XD But hey, maybe this is the solution to solving our school hangout's problem...=O *potential aha moment*

Hooray for watching Angel Beats! I've yet to watch the last half of it. Mainly because I've been too lazy to sit down and watch it.
On the topic of having optimistic/pessimistic/cynical look on line, the reason I watch more animated programing is because they tend to be on the optimistic side of the scale and I know if I myself drift too far towards cynicism I probably will say and do things people will regret.

I just typed up a response on the pessimism/cynicism topic. Then I was like "I seem dull. I'm just gonna stop now," and deleted it... sweatdrop
@Dart: It's really good. The ending nearly had me in tears, but I didn't want to wake my roomie. I watched it all in a night. XD

@Dart: All I watch are anime and cartoons because I find practically everything else boring and depressing. rofl
@Inu: Aww! I think the last time I cried while watching anime was when I was watching this one episode of Pokemon several years back. XD

First off, I'm not on for Chauvinism- of any kind. But This just happened, and I'm in waaaaay to freaking good a mood about it not to share with my friends, so here's my apology upfront if this offends. It took me five hours, of which most was spent snuggling and listening to music, but I got both two second base, And the kiss goodnight after the walk home. I haven't felt this awesome, ever. Aaaand it's funny because I am not a virgin and i'm stoked about such teen romance crap XD

Y IS EVERYONE LEAVING THE BACHELORS' CIRCLE
Angel Beats was... decent. It had a good idea, but it didn't carry the idea out very well though...
CLANNAD and CLANNAD After Story is still the biggest tearjerker anime EVAR. Both by laughing and by crying.

Don't worry Bapp, I think I'm safe for another lifetime or so! I immediately thought 'Good for you, Storm!' ....but then I wondered what second base is, and immediately thought of this XKCD strip. Either way, good for you Storm! I may be confused as to what happened, but congratulations are in order nonetheless!
