"Great!" Melanie picked up a piece of bread and took a bite out of it, then continued. "Would it be possible for us not to hit my town?" She smiled sweetly, hoping that Storm would agree not too.

Storm cocked her head to one side, curious now.
"Haven't we already covered this?"

Melanie ran her finger around the edge of the mug absent-mindedly and shrugged. "Technically we have yes, but we haven't really gone over it in depth....we've just, skimmed the surface so to speak." Melanie smiled as the mug began to give a high pitch noise that filled the entire cabin immediately.

Storm inwardly winced at noise, but wouldn't give Melanie the satisfaction of letting her see it. She shrugged to cover it.
"Fair enough, then. Expound your position, and I will make my judgment."

"My position is quite simple actually; One of my very close friends lives there and-well-it's all the life she's ever known." Melanie sighed softly before continuing. "So, to spare my friend from a lifetime of bad memories consisting of pirates raiding her town, we could just....skip my town. Just go to the next one. So, what do you say?"

Storm shrugged.
"Or...we could take her with us? Save her from that slow rot, just like we saved you."

Melanie nodded slowly. "I suppose so." Her eyes abruptly met Storms'. "But what about the other people who live on the island...we can't just take them on board." Melanie lifted her hand and gestured towards the door,"How do I know that your crew won't just take the treasure-or whatever it is your looking for-on the island?" She waited patiently.

Storm's smile was now slightly patronizing.
"You're assuming that our intent is to take monetary means, not considering the fact that we could be raiding for slaves, or out of sheer boredom. In either case, we take what we'd like, and raze the town. There is a reason the name of my ship is the Death Wind."
She shrugged laconically.
"If you prefer, we can set you onto the isle before we raid it, so you won't miss the...experience, first hand."

"Maybe this was the reason I quite pirating." Melanie muttered as she rolled her eyes at the captain. "Fortunately I know something that you don't, and if you would but consider giving quarter to the townspeople, I would gladly give you what I know." A small mischevious smile appeared on Mel's lips as she picked at the piece of half-eaten bread on her plate.

"I'm certain that there are many things you know that I don't. How do I know that it is even relevant to my situation?"

"Trust me, if it's revelant to any other pirate's situation, it's most defenitely revelant to your situation." Melanie crossed her legs and tapped her branded foot on the wooden floor.

Storm raised her eyebrow in surprise.
"That's a high claim. Back it up; what is this information? Tell me know, and I'll consider omitting your little island."

"I can procure from the admiral himself what the East India Trading Company plans on doing."Melanie paused for a moment as she realized that giving away the Company's plans could mean death for her.'Oh well.' She thought to herself before continuing on in her little rant. "I mean, the Company already has nearly every port that is described on the map."

Storm pursed her lips, drumming her fingers along the grain of the wooden dinning table, thinking in silence. Finally, the drow spoke.
"Not worth it. If we just stay close to the trading lanes, we'd run into a half dozen ships within the hour. Try again?"

Melanie sighed disparingly and leaned her head on the back of the hard wooden chair for a moment as she racked her brain for more information. "Does the fact that the Company's headquarters are on my 'little island' bother you?" Her voice lowered to a mere whisper that sounded almost like the wind. "And that there are spies aboard your ship...?"
