And Adrienne exited the bathroom to the sound of a flute, her greatest weakness. If it weren't for the blindfold, one might see her eyes glaze over the minute she heard that melody. Her body moved slowly, twisting with the music as she inched her way closer to the bed and the one playing the flute.

Jin, continuing to play the soft melody with his eyes closed, did not see her approach... however, it was not hard at all to hear the door open, or the footsteps beside the bed. He continued uninhibited, though his left eye opened slightly.

Adrienne slipped into the bed, crawling over to Jin's side to curl up next to him.

Jin continued to play, not moving from where he sat, and doing little more than letting the melody carry on, seemingly unending. He could play for hours, and at times that he did, though now was not the time for it. Just a few more minutes he continued to play; then he set the instrument down beside him on the table and retired to the vacant bathroom.

As the flute induced trance started to wear off, Adrienne remained curled on the bed, pulling the sheet over her to cover more of her body. She hissed softly at the instrument laying on the table, her eyes narrowing as she stared at it.

Later, Jin would emerge from the bathroom, having bathed and washed. The majority of the clothing he had brought with him had been rinsed in the basin and wrung out; much of it was hung to dry in the arid heat, though what was necessary for decency was worn, even still damp.

He woke quietly, Simply opening his eyes slowly sighing as he woke again to the stiffness in his chest.

Turning and putting his feet on the ground over the side of the bed he ran his fingers through his hair pushing it out of his face. Reaching to the table next to him he grabbed his mask and slid it on so that it rested on top of his head holding his hair back. Taking a small knife he pulled his hair back and cut it shorter, holding strands of his hair he threw them into a waste basket at the edge of the bed and stood quietly, his knees popping.

He'de have to remember to find someone who could trim his hair so it didn't look so crappy but for now it was fine.

Sliding his blade into the small loop on the inside of his sash he slowly left the room. Quietly making his way downstairs.

Xiu was now interested, a new alloy and a swordswoman. He let his mind fall from the peaceful status and moved right in front of the exit of the tent. His silver hair shined in the sun as he gazed at the drwing laid out on the table. His mouth was still hidden, so they wouldn't be able to tell he was smiling lightly. The sun was at his back so the only detail that could be seen was his hair, and for now that is how he liked it.

He reached out and made a motion for the map, he didn't need to talk because he knew that they would instantly recognize what they wanted. He wasn't going to steal the map he just wanted to look at it, and in case they thought otherwise his middle finger of his right hand was on the ring that trigred the mechanism in his gauntlets.

Jdging that she was a pudao user, she wouldn't have enough time to pull it out and let alone create a defensive stance. It was a spear like weapon with a heavy blade on the end, and his gauntlet was a quick and penetrating weapon used for clos combat. the sybol on his shirt was the same one on his headband, the cross.

He moved his right foot back slighty as well so he could lunge if need be. Xiu was a warrior, but he didn't want to fight her. So he guessed he should speak considering it was now necessary.

May I see the map?

Karima quickly sequestered the map into her cloak, then looked over Xiu as he stepped into her path. "How did you know it was a map, sir?" she asked, adopting a formal tone. She could tell he was a foreigner, as his attire and eavesdropping were uncharacteristic of the people here.

She saw his foot shift. Weight concentrated on the front of the foot. A trained fighter, assassin, perhaps. Defintely not a normal cutpurse, thought Karo. She had only brought a blunt verutum javelin, but she probably couldn't pull it out in time, if things got ugly. Best wait for to see if diplomacy will win out.

Xiu took notice that she slid the map into her outer clothes, and was a bit upset. He also realized she knew that she was at a disadvantage in terms of stance and attack. He wasn't sure what weapon she had now, but whatever it was, it wasn't light. Xiu let about eighty percent of his weight shift to the balls of his feet, the rest on his toes.

Judging from the change in facade she knew too things, Xiu had a history as an assassin, or something along those lines, due to the recognition of his movements. The second was he is a foriegner. She would have never realized his existance if he hadn't wanted to see that map, but he had revealed himself to her in order to get a better understanding of the geographic layout of this city. He was going to keep his stance for now, but converstaion was an option judging from her body language and openess.

Well, it might not be a map...but it is a script that reveals a location around Strata. I wish to be able to know the contours of the land, so I may have an essential advantage when it comes time for battle. And, yes, I was an assassin.

I don't converse all that much either, no need to if you get your point across.

"I'm sorry to disappoint," replied Karima, "It doesn't reveal a location near Strata, but rather a distant continent. It's Guldor, the land of ice and snow." Karima let her guard down, seeing that Xiu's intent was only on the map. "My name's Karima," she said, giving a quick curtsy. "Would you know anything about Guldor?"

He now was sure there wasn't going to be a confrontation with the vulpine woman, but he was still cautious. He shifted his stance to where he was standig normally, but the weight was still centered on the front of his feet. Along with that, he kept his finger on the mechanism of his gauntlets.

He blinked at the mention of Guldor. He knew some, but not much.

I only know enough about the raiding party of a hundred my squad encountered in my home country, and their leader. They had heavy armor, and large weapons. They were impractical, and were to straight forward. Easy to dodge. The men were tall and muscular. The leader was intelligent, skilled, and used a warhammer with which he manipulated the water. I had to exert more energy than I would have liked killing twenty-seven of the dim-wits, and their leader. From what I gathered they were barbaric, and somewhat nomadic.

This was a bit of lie, he had killed thirty-two withot too much effort, but the leader was the only obstacle. He didn't want her to know his strength yet.

"Nomads?" asked Karima. This expedition wasn't going to be easy, then. Karima had hoped to ask for a local guide, or at least get an updated map, in case anything had changed, but it seemed like this wasn't going to be happening, unless she somehow was able to meet up with a non-belligerent nomadic bands, if there were any. "I'm guessing that you don't know anything about the geography, either. My map doesn't show much topography, just landmarks."

Xiu moved to the left of the foxl, his movements smooth and sure.

Just because one raiding party was nomadic, it does not portray the actual lifestyle of the citizens of Guldor. To make a sweeping generalization would be a mistake. All I know is of what I have seen. And I do know the basic topography, not specifics. I would not advise travelling without as much information as possible. All we need to duue to get these details is venture down to the port and find the right person. I wish to accompany you Karima, my name is Long Xiu.

Xiu wanted to get out of Strata, his interest in the city had reached it's peak when he had entered it. There were opponents here, but none that wanted to fight. He wanted battle, and it wasn't here.

"I prefer to travel alone, Long Xiu" replied Karima. "However, I think it would be wise to find as much information as I can."

She walked out into the main boulevard, turning in mid-step to gesture for Xiu to follow her. "Well, I've finished my business here. What of you? What brings you to Strata?"

He follows her, just a stp behind and to her right. Hi footsteps inaudible in the merchant ring.

I also prefer to travel alone, but for this I thought it would be best. It is your choice though. I came to Strata for one reason, and that was to fight the strongest. They are no longer here, only there reverberations. Something has changed recently so that I can no longer feel the same strong pulsations of energy so I am leaving.
