Seraphine-Exalted Cagalli Yura Attha unless all your squads use the minimum number, or are marines, they'll outnumber the marines. No matter WHO you play. If you're in a tournament, you should have a unit and contingency unit for taking out heavily armed characters like the marines or imperial guard's stronger tanks. i get outnumbered by marines all the time, but im not talking like outnumbering 3 more guys against the marine, to beat the marines (using non marine like army) you'll need 2:1 or 3:1 atleast 2 minimal size squads of eldar guardians on the charge against a 10 man tactical squad. 41 attacks. Bam, baby.

Marine jetbike bitz should be available from GW's mail order archive- there were enough of them to make the "Best Bitz" poster last year. Ditto for older bikes and sidecars. I don't have a linky, but they should be somewhere in the online store. I wish I had some RTB01 Marines or their vehicles to linky to...

News from forge world after I inquired about Pre-Heresy marines and the fact I believe they would sell REALLY well-
We did produce about 6 pre-Heresy style Marines in resin, but these were made for a photo shoot. However we have spoken about the possibility of making Pre-Heresy Marines, but it has gone no further than talking about it.

Cagalli Yura Attha Akujo I have about 10-20 old beakies. Studded shoulders, hand flamers, and all. the old plastics? They are actually resin not plastic... I only have right arms with bolers attached I dont have no studded lefts anymore. Also these wont fit new marine bodies to well as they are a bit smaller...

Akujo Yep. Some plastic some lead. Yea. I said lead. Ah, the good old days before GW decided lead was a bad thing to produce models from.. xd I'd like a few of the older models with studs just to give my army some appeal... But, they're rare..

While you people are talking about days gone by with the old "Crusade" and "Heresy" armour, read this here. It's an article from WD 129 about Space Marine armour though the ages, it also details a bit about the old Beakie armour with studded shoulder pads. (It had something to do with inferior armour on the left shoulder that could easily be replaced.) Quote: A distinguishing feature of the Mark 5 armour were the heavily studded armour plates. This was an attempt to reinforce the Mark 4 pattern plates when inferior materials were used due to lack of the proper supplies.

yep. If I recall, the studded shoulder pad affixed a type of "artificial skin" to the area to strengthen the armor. It was placed on the shoulder pad the marine would have facing forwards so that their supporting arm would take less damage. The MK5 armor placed the studs on the shoulder, legs and head to try and re-inforce it. However, the MK5's weakness was the chest. It was cluttered with armored cable tidies, and proved vulnerable when shot.

Cagalli Yura Attha I'd like a few of the older models with studs just to give my army some appeal... But, they're rare.. You could try this sites Bitz Swap. The peaople are friendly and all around honest. They do all kinds of tradeing all the time. Also there is about 2800 members worldwide. So someone has to have a few older marines they may want to part with. You have to join to post but it is free to do so.
