You're right. You DON'T know what's gone on between us. I smell the demon blood in you. You don't HAVE a secret from me. I could expose you right here and now. Show everyone what you really are. Then those who are close to you would be hurt. Those who think you are as you pretend to be. I trust Maggie, but for her own sake.... I can't have her get hurt by who I am.

*stares at Tavin for a moment as he interacts with Haelous, his words sinking in, looking briefly devastated . . . *
*but then, her expression shifts, a new emotion clear in her eyes - anger*
*breathes in deeply, then practically storms across the room towards Tavin, and yanks the book away from him with one hand, using the other to grab hold of his chin as one would to a child, forcing him to face her* Ye . . . ye damned stubborn angel! *meets his gaze now, her eyes bright with feeling* Dinna talk to me as though I'm a stranger! I . . I may be weak, and I may be a coward . . . but I am your friend!!

I'm trying NOT to hurt you! *Tavin's body begins to enlongate, his clothes ripping and his skin turning black and scaly. Batlike wings sprout from his decidedly feline body as his fingers spindle into claws, his fangs glistening and his long, lizardlike tail snapping back and forth* LOOK AT ME! *THIS* is your "friend" Tavin! THIS is what I really am!!!!! Can't you realize that? Can't you see that every time you see the face of the Tavin you think you knew, you are in reality looking at THIS!?!?! *Tavin backs up, trying to scramble away from Maggie without accidentally hurting anyone*

*steps back instinctively, her eyes locked on Tavin and going wide, starting to tremble*
*swallows hard, rolling her hands into fists, and holds her ground, shouting back at him, still angry* Ye . . . ye're trying te scare me, is what ye're trying te do!! And it's working! Is that what ye want te hear? I am scared!! I'm scared, but I am not going to run away!! Whether ye want me te or not, I'm staying!! *tears pour over onto her cheeks, but she keeps shouting* I'm still yer friend . . .!! I'M STILL YER FRIEND!!!

*Tavin is taken aback by Maggie's words. He staggers backwards, off guard, and slips of a chair, his massive body crashing to the floor in bewilderment. Slowly his body shrinks and changes until he's back to his Human form*
I... I.......
*Tears well up in his eyes*
Maggie... I..... I was so... so scared.. I... I....... You were terrified.... I didn't want you to.... to leave..... and I.......
*Tavin breaks down and starts sobbing*

This place was so frickin' WEIRD.* *At a loss for words, he sits back. He yanks back his t-shirt and it snaps against his chest, slick with tears.* *Jesus...She was really crying... She really honestly must have thought I croaked...* *He rubs the t-shirt between his fingers...thinking....when....* *He watches the interaction between Maggie and Tavin. Luke takes in a gasp as Tavin takes on a monstrous form.* *He bolts up from his chair, but stops when Maggie holds her ground.*
