KABUKISTAR NogginDew KABUKISTAR I'm in Spokane, when I'm not off at college. Spokane valley, to be more specific. Anyone else here from U-high? Meh, three of us live/near the south hill, three of us live on the north side. So nope, sorry. ^.^;;
How long have you lived in Spokane? surprised I came over in 9th grade, so.... I've been here since December 2000. Hmm.. I'm trying to use the year your graduated from high school to determine your age. xd
Did you turn 20 recently or within the last few months or are you still 19?

Noggin, Slonny and I have made a trip to Seattle but we're all bodies offline as well.
I guess we're a very social group mrgreen
Welcome and have an oreo for putting up with my randomishness *offers a bag of oreos*

Perface: Ok, so I'm not really sure what the point of this is or even where it came from. It flowed from my finger tips and ended up making some sense. I suppose it's a rant but it's not too harsh. Just been thinking lately. Everywhere is Christmas and other holidays and yet, it doesn't feel much like Christmas. Times have changed in the last 120 years so drastically that I fear we are loosing our children's generation to...well...I'm not sure.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What happened to the days of sleighs and general stores? What happened to parents who made their children work on the farm until they had bisters on their hands and feet? What happened to catching the eyes of a young farm hand and falling MADLY in love with him and running away together to marry and having a family by the age of 14?
It's gone. That's right! Times change and parents house and feed their young for 5-20 years longer than they used to. We're not taught to take care of ourselves or even think for outselves until we're finishing High School and by that age we don't care to learn how to cook a healthy meal or host a dinner party. Then again most of our parents don't know how to do that either. They don't even know how to set a table correctly or to use manners.
Is it so wrong to wish for a better generation in a world of comsuption whores and wasteful humans? Did you know that humans only make up 6% of the population and yet we consume nearly 80% of the world's resources? We are greedy little devils!
Just 120 years ago we plowed the land and grew our own food. We bartered with our neighbors to feel our children. A cow for a couple chikens. If a storm hit and your crops were destroyed but mine weathered it and stayed healthy, you would help me harvest it and I would give you food for your family so you wouldn't starve. As neighbors we would share firewood so our babies wouldn't freeze.
Now when desaster strikes the world gives money and sings songs but is any effort really put into helping those that lost their worlds? No, not really just money, because moeny can fix any problem, right? Sure, we can go with that answer.
Money and unlimited wants and limited resources are what cause wars and break peace. This is why we loose friends and neighbors. This is why we loose trust in humanity. We want, want and want. We rarely give and we rarely say thank you and truley appreciate someone's kindness.
This time of the year is when people really think about givng and other people. They rest of the year we are selfish little, self centered, spoiled brats. Now is the time for giving, not recieving, for thinking of others not one's self. Now and all other times of the year.
Bake some cookies with a friend and take it to your elderly neighbor. You will see such a smile in their eyes and warm glow come to thier cheeks. Just a small gesture to let people know that the newest generations will not be the end of the world. Let people know that hope is not lost.
My dad has Malignent Cancerous Lymphoma. Just thought I'd announce it in advance in case I don't post for a while or something. I've got a lot of things to think about. I'm fine, please don't ask.
