catzeye21138 Tarashia muted melodies pyrojazz kiefy muted melodies MAH HORN IS BROKE AGAIN!!!!! >.< My director just fixed it on Monday. I've practiced a couple of times this week, and my 2nd space A was coming out a little funny, and today the string was completely undone. xp sweatdrop xp xp please tell me you know how to string your own horn. Gimme a break. I've been playing on horn for two weeks. I watched him how to fix it, and I sort of picked it up, and I know how to fix it if it's not too out of whack, but this one is completely finished. There should be little screws you should be able to unscrew to reattatch the strings... If not, I'm sure your BD or another horn player can help you fix it =D A french horn has strings?! gonk Why the heck did I not know about this? XD It depends on your horn xD Some don't have strings to move the valves, some have metal stuff.

catzeye21138 Spirit_of_Yarn Novel of Tragedy Spirit_of_Yarn Novel of Tragedy My private lesseon teacher has one. Its really cool, but the recievers for it are ment for more of a trumpet mouth peice. The fingers are kind of aqward though. Yeah, the fingers are totally akward. X_X Stupid small hands, I could barley touch the valves. A curse and a blessing rolled into one. I wanted to play basson, but my hands were too small, so I picked the horn. Oh well... XP I<3 the horn anyway. =o I wanna play the double bassoon! xd I'm probably smaller than you are and smaller than the bassoon itself! XDD My hands from the bottom of my palm to the top of my middle finger are 7 inches X_X. It seems like alot of basson players wanted to/concidered play horn and alot of horn players conciderd/want to play basson.

pyrojazz kiefy no I won't ....J/k sorry If I sounded mean It's just when I first got my horn from the high school I had to restring the 3rd rotor with fishing line. my BD just told me to follow the other rotors. Haha okay. smile And fishing line? Eek. eek I looked at the other rotors and I have an idea it's just so far gone that I think I'll leave it alone and have my director restring it so I don't mess it up further.

yeah needless to say it worked just fine. Don't be afraid of it either.
BTW I would never want to use a horn that has mechanical linkage and not a string linkage. Reason being that if something went wrong you can't fix yourself real easily.

For some reason when I got a horn with mechenical linkage for a replacement while mine was in the shope, it kept stick and I used like a bottle of oit in like 2 weeks. (the school takes froever to get things fixed)

I like my strings because on an old horn like mine, you just replace the strings and the valves work again =O I wish slides were that easy... Mechanical would be hard to fix if it broke.

Alos I remesured my hands with a 12'' ruler instead of a 6''inch one and their exactly 6 and a half inches XP Now tell me how I can be 5'5''? My hands almost dont reach the fingers in my Conn.

That's really cool =D These are from our last competition: Here's a picture of me. And here's one of the band. We placed first music at this one, and second in just about every thing else. We rarely even place in music. I was so happy <3 I like your uniforms. You have cool gloves xD I wish we got to do big stuff, but we're not big enough, good enough, and lack an enthusiastic enough band director...

They look like our old uniforms. smile And our director was in Phantom Regiment and so was our assistant. Half our staff was in some sort of corps. And we're I think 96 strong this year. smile
