Hi! The clarinet is the only instrument I have ever played! Ironically, my aunt used to play the clarinet as well. I'm in college now, but I must buy more reeds so I can play again! I've been playing since 6th grade by the way. Welcome fellow clarineters!

Bonjour everyone! I'm a fellow clarinet, with two clarinets! Vincento, my plastic one, and my wooden clarinet, Seniora Cheez-It. Don't ask me where I got the inspiration for that name... Vincento is for marching band, and Seniora Cheez-It is for concert and Jazz Band. I've been playing since sixth grade, and I am now a Freshman at Bearden High School. Fear my Freshman-ness. >.< I will be taking Trumpet lessons, by Christmas, because of multiple reasons. 1.) I am planning on majoring in music (and art) in college. 2.) If I ever want to join a Drum Corp, I have to play a brass instrument. 3.) I wouldn't have to learn a new cleff to play on. I've played Trumpet parts last year in Jazz Band for multiple songs. Fun, and easy. So, I'm a Band Nerd, and proud. A hungry Band Nerd. So, Ta!!

Alchemy_inu02 Bonjour everyone! I'm a fellow clarinet, with two clarinets! i just realized i have two clarinets also! my old one thats about 40 years old that i used until christmas of 5th grade when i got my new one, Marina. i never play my old one because its all wood and it is old and the case handle (which was leather) broke. i use Marina for all music related things and she is plastic on the inside (for durability) and wood on the outside (for looks). i love Marina and she always plays well (and mostly in tune) for me. (i thought me and a few other people were the only ones who named their instraments)(Angie's clarinet's name is Hermy, Ashley's clarinet's name is Clarice, and Chelsea's clarinet's name is Lucielle.)

whats the highest note u can play on the clarinet? i was wondering cuz no one in my school can play up as high as me. my highest note is ultra-high *checks clarinet note chart* G-flat. it is the highest flat on the clarinet (unless my fingering chart is wrong). i was practicing that note and the note before it and my band director said, "Can u stop making those obnoxious noises?" so i had to stop. even i gotta admit it sounds like half a squeak and half a note. but then again, he doesnt have "clarinet ears". (most clarinet players arent affected by super-high notes)

I refuse to play them until the tone quality is to my liking, and I hate it when the girls in my section blast them and think it sounds good.

Oh, and I don't think it matters how high you go, but how well you play the notes you do know.

I'm a sophomore and I've played the clarinet for four years now... but I'm not in band this year (I'm taking Spanish and orchestra... hurrah for violas!) I did play in the fourth of july parade, though... I'll be back with my other band peeps next year...
Why play clarinet? Because it's just plain sexy. mrgreen
...and the high notes... the highest I've gone is an f (er, concert e-flat)... I forgot what number it'd be... gotta think about that... I don't remember. It's the one above the c you play with just your thumb and the register key. I've tried to go higher and almost did, but my band teacher put a stop to that. xp

Then again, that's coming from how I hear it. I can go to the high G...the really high one, but I think it's from my flute playing where I can go to the really high C (I think that's about 6 lines above the staff and the G about 4...right...?) High notes are fun!

Wow all of you are young - no offense.
I'm a junior and I am a transfer clarinet... which means I can play it with some bit of skill... 5 years too rusty. I am essentially tied to our band's clarinets.
You guys are soo cool!! I've never met a bad clarinet. biggrin I'm even marrying one biggrin heart I wish my section were so cool. I'm actually a piccolo/flute
