As Torrest continued to walk through the village, stories of his exploits and power had already traveled throughout much of the village, attracting quite a bit of attention to many of the masters there. But as Torrest turned a corner, he walked straight into the fist of another man who merely stood there with his arm outstretched, causing Torrest to fall onto his back, rubbing his nose. "Heh! This is what everyone is so interested in? I don't even believe that this kid was able to use the Kubikari," said the man as he punched his right hand into his left palm.

1/9

Torrest stood and dusted his back off but then was pushed back down by the man who started to laugh at him. Torrest merely got back up but he was kicked to the floor this time. "What are you, an idiot? Why won't you learn to stay down when someone knocks out down," asked the man as his smile started to disappear but instead of face of disgust started to appear on it. "As stupid as stupid get, suh," said Torrest as he started to get up again. This time, the man pulled back a fist and threw it so fast and hard that when it connected in Torrest's stomach, an image of a phoenix could have been seen.

2/9

Torrest started flying backwards, breaking through building walls and knocking over trees until he skidded to a stop a half mile away. Torrest coughed up a bit of blood but still he tried his best to get back to his feet while tears started to drip from his eyes from the pain. Through the blurry images that the tears were creating, Torrest could see that the man and a few of his friends were starting to walk his way. Still, he continued to try to stand, stumbling everywhere as he was sill disoriented from the hit. But he couldn't stand for very long as he fell backwards in a sitting position resting his back against a tree.

3/9

"Hah! See, I told you he was nothing. There's no point in letting him live after getting hit by my technique and not being able to stand afterwards. We may as well take him out of his misery," said the man as his friends started to walk towards Torrest pulling out various weapons from Swords to Knives. One man pulled back his sword with a large smile as he attempted to thrust it into Torrest's leg but his eyes widened as Torrest's hand actually grabbed the blade as it started sliding forwards, cutting into the hand but managed to stop it before it stabbed into his leg.

4/9

"What!" With that, Torrest launched off the ground and was now in the man's face, throwing a fist into his chin. As the man staggered back a few steps, he was kicked hard in the stomach causing him to fall on his butt upon the ground as well. Torrest turned and was cut in the chin by another man's knife but Torrest was back in his furry mode like when Furanken tried to fight him back in another day. His eyes were almost pure white as it usually was before he threw a back hand into the man's neck, causing his opponent to bend over, dropping his weapon to grip his hurt neck.

5/9

Torrest then threw a kick towards his side as another man with a club raced for him and he was kicked rather hard in the stomach. Torrest grabbed the man he hit in the neck by the hair before spinning around in one full swing and letting him go to fly into the man with the club, causing them to fall towards the ground. Torrest was then punched hard in the side from the same technique but this time, he grabbed the man's wrist causing the man to come with Torrest into the distance, crashing through trees and buildings but only going a quarter of a mile due to the extra weight and the still momentum Torrest's opponent had during launch.

6/9

As they both came to a rolling stop, Torrest had ended up in a woman's home while she was trying te feed her child mashed foods and the other man was lying upon the ground outside the building trying to figure what the hell happened. Torrest stood from all the wreckage and walked outside the building, this time being met with a foot that connected with his chin that sent Torrest flying high upwards into the air. As Torrest started to control his flipping, he found that his opponent was above him, spinning at a rapid speed with his feet pointing downwards towards Torrest in a Cannon Drill technique.

7/9

Torrest managed to dodge the technique by twirling but was clipped in the side. But as the man continued to fall, Torrest reached back and grabbed him by the hair before spinning once and throwing him higher into the air, starting up the Kubikari technique. He then appeared above the man punching him downwards towards the ground, and then appearing below, kicking upwards, and then appearing at the man's highest point of his arch and power bombed him upon the ground.

8/9

As the man's body was starting to go limp, Torrest looked over to the side to see the man's friends starting to run for his rescue. Torrest got off the man, breathing rather hard before grabbing the man by one of his feet and tossing him up in the air. Torrest bent his knees while pulling back a fist watching the man as he stopped rising and started to fall and Torrest threw his fist forwards, slamming it into the man's back with such force, people thought they saw a pheonix appeared before them while Torrest's opponent flew into the coming reinforcements.

After that, Torrest passed out, having had too much strain upon his body from the damage he took and having used the Kubikari technique to many times that his body could not handle. Even though it was a win for him, it doesn't mean that anyone else would try to kill him afterwards. For hours, he was unconscious before he started to awaken in a hospital bed, his cuts had been patched up and his arm was in a sling, obviously he was hurt pretty bad but he couldn't feel it. There was a girl tending to a wound upon his leg but when Torrest tried to speak, he found he couldn't.

1/8

But he didn't need to say anything to get the girl's attention. "Oh! Your awake," said the nurse as she jumped from seeing him open his mouth. "I'll get the doctor for you right away, OK?" With that, she was gone from the room. Torrest looked around the room a bit seeing all these different pictures of master martial artists. "OK! Lets see how our new patient is doing," said a man's voice this time and this caused Torrest to look to his left towards the door where a doctor stood. The doctor walked over to the foot of Torrest's bed before picking up a clipboard with writing on it.

2/8

"Alright! Your ready to go... Also, since your such a strong fighter, why not join the tournament that going to happen down town? It will be much fun and you'll probably be treated as a VIP if you win," said the doctor with a laugh. "I don't know many of what you said but I'll go down town," said Torrest as he got to his feet in a jump and stretched his arms out while making a groaning sound of happiness while a wide smile appeared on his face. As he walked out of the room, he passed the man he had fought before whom was still knocked out with bandages and casts all over his body.

Torrest merely stared at him for a few seconds before smiling widely at the unconscious man and then opened the door before leaving the room, not wanting to walk into it like he had many times before he had left home for the academy. As he exited the academy, many people waved to him, having finally acknowledge him for his exploits in learning some of the rather hard techniques. A man walked up to Torrest and said, "Your entering the tournament right? Come with me."

4/8

With that, Torrest smiled wide and followed the man through a maze of streets before ending up in a dead end. "Now that we have you, prepare to meet your doom for beating up our sensei," said the man as he turned around and whistled after placing two fingers in his mouth and blew. After the rather loud whistle, a multitude of fighters appeared all around Torrest holding a various variety of weapons from blunt to edged ready to fight Torrest. "Hi everyone! My name is Torrest, what's your names," asked Torrest as he held out a hand to the group of people behind him.

5/8

They lowered their weapons a bit before looking at each other, wondering how much of an idiot this guy was before raising up their weapons once more. "For Adon-sensei," they all yelled before jumping up into the air. But with that battle cry, Torrest jumped too, wondering if this was a game they had invented for this type of fighting. "Are we playing keep away? Okay! I'll play," said Torrest as he looked around him. A man nearby with a staff jabbed at Torrest while another on the other side of Torrest had a sword and swung at Torrest. Torrest merely ducked and the sword sliced off the top half of the staff.

6/8

"Keep away," called Torrest as he then threw two kicks to both his sides, making the splits in mid-air as he did and turned around to see a man come at him with Nun-chucks, spinning it rapidly on one side. Torrest threw a kick towards the man's nun-chuck as he swung it at Torrest, stopping the attack and at the same time, Torrest punched at a guy that tried to knock Torrest back to the ground, using the Fist of the Pheonix technique and sending him flying into the guy behind him and they disappeared into the distance.

7/8

"I'm winning," said Torrest with a smile as he started falling towards the ground. The others were still rising through, having used more force than Torrest could possibly use at his level and decided that they would threw each other straight down towards the ground in attempts to kill Torrest. Torrest smiled as he landed upon the ground but then started running as the men came raining down upon him. But he unable to move away from the majority but he did an alternative by kicking straight upwards into the air, slamming it into one man and causing everyone behind him to fly upwards back into the air with him.

As they rose into the air, the rest of the group had gotten to their feet after landing in the ground in an awkward position having never done that type of stunt before. They charged after Torrest, weapons drawn and Torrest turned, starting to run. "We are playing tag now? Yay," cried out Torrest, with a smile as he started to run but he was obviously much faster than them when it came to running so they decided that it would be best if they spread up around the village to try to ambush him when he'd come around. After they all spread about, only one was chasing Torrest.

Akira entered Hidden Arts quite quickly. This was his first time here personally, though he had researched the place extensively while trying to decide where he was going to go to help his plans. Hidden Arts had no Kage and would soon be looking for one as its population grew. He thought that this place, with little defenses would be a smart place to start, or at least to plan. He was amazed by the place. It was not an easy place to get into for good reason. He was actually quite angry that he could not train, still it would not be too bad to wait here. He walked around taking in the sights and most of all looking for an inn of sorts to put his things away. He had enough money put away that he did not need to return to Hidden Moon until it was time to get the job done. He had planned it quite well. If he could somehow get another village to help him, that would make it all the better. Akira had several files on genin under his arm when he had left Hidden Moon. He had dropped those number down to three. One of them was in this village. The one in this village would be the most useful if he became Kage and that is why Akira set up shop here.

Ryu woke up for another day of training. He would be in the village for a long time, Hell he had been in the village all his life but he was still not used to all the physical training that came with being a part of it. He knew better than to start off his day immediatly. Before that he had to do some light exercises to loosen up his muscles. He did not want to afford to catch a muscle cramp today. Ryu went through the motions quite quick. Some pushups and situps. They were second nature to him at this point. He did not want to push himself too much, just warm up his muscles. He completed the exercises quite quick.
Directly after the exercises, Ryu fixed himself a glass of whey protein, a glass of criotine and an assortment of supplements to maximize his workout. He needed to get the most out of his workout so this was the only way to get that done. Drinking the pills and drinks Ryu grimaced at the taste. He was somewhat hungry but wanted to wait until at least lunch before swallowing down some solid food. Not only would it be somewhat healthy for him, he also would have something to work towards. It worked out pretty well for him: he was already looking forward to eating lunch.
Ryu took a couple of deep breaths before walking out his door. He would begin his workout by taking a run. It would not be too hard of a run, just a few hundred yards to the first of several dojos that Ryu planned on going to during the day. He was going to have a long day ahead of him, but Ryu planned for it to be useful day. He started his run, the dietary suppliments taking effect. They did not quite get him in swing but they got him moving. He did not have to worry about losing his strength any time soon. He continued his run looking through the village.
The Sight of the Hidden Arts Village is simply unlike anything that you could ever imagine. Imagine, the Shaolin Temple on a far grander scale and you will come close to what this truly is. Quite possibly the closest he could ever get to the description of this village is just that. Basically everyone here either has worked their bodies to the point that their limits are hard to find or they have trained their minds to work past the limits of their bodies. That is basically the reality of the village and if you do not do one of those things then you will probably not last too long in this village.
Ryu was someone who could take just about any kind of damage and dish it back out. He was really worried though. He was trying to get through. He really could not care about being the best. All that he wanted to do was protect his village. Well, along with protecting his village he wanted to make sure that no one ever bothered him That was the kind of person that he was. With all of his thought, it did not take Ryu long to get to the first dojo that he planned to train in.
The one thing that was convienient about training in a dojo is that you eat and sleep in the dojo until the completion of your training. This would mean that Ryu would not have to take this run every time that he wanted to come back up here. That is especially convienient for Ryu. He walked into the dojo. It was basically like any other dojo. They pride themselves on their cleanliness and for all of the people and the sweat and the blood that happened to pass by over the years. The fact is that they, whoever they is, does a good job of keeping the place nice and shiny. Ryu had to laugh about it though, for reasons that may or may not become clear in the soon enough.
Ryu looked into the place from the door until he caught sight of the person that he believed that he was looking for. There was little chance that he was not the person that Ryu was looking for. He removed his shoes before walking in. He had noticed a person that he assumed was Yueng Bolo. The old man in the dojo turned when he heard someone coming into the room. He was bald and carried a beard that went far down to his waist. He looked like a stereotypical master which is what made Ryu assume that he was the master of the dojo. He bowed to the man when he came within a few yards of Ryu. That would be the beginning of this little tradition.
Yueng Bolo knowing is line started the conversation. “Why are you here young one?”
“I am here to ask for you to train me in the martial arts.”
This sequence of conversation would actually go on for about five more minutes. I personally do not want to put in the whole thing and this will most likely be the last time that I put even this much in for the remainder of the journey. However, in the end there is one part that changes depending on student and teacher. The teacher actually has the choice to take the student or not. Ryu was fortunate enough that Yueng Bolo actually decided to take him as his student. Now all that was left was for . . . well actually nothing. Now what was left was for Ryu to start his training.
Yueng Bolo provided the Ryu with a training outfit containing his sign. This was to show anyone that met him that he was trained by Yueng Bolo. The day would start off with more exercises to not only prepare him for the actual learning of techniques but also to test the limits of his body. This was what Ryu was worrying about . He wanted to make sure that he was fully prepared to make it through this part of his training. If he was not then he would be dropped as a student. It was one thing that stopped Ryu from beginning his training in other dojos for so long. He wanted to make sure that he was in the top physical conditioning.
All of his waiting and patience had paid off. He went through Yueng Bolo’s test of running, pushups, sit ups, chin ups, pull ups and all kinds of other exercises with little more than a light sweat. Even Yueng was surprised at this new students stamina. This was most surprising for Ryu as well. None the less with the test over now it was time to get to the real business at hand.
Yueng Bolo took his seat at the front of the dojo and Ryu took his own seat opposite Yueng. Ryu knew that he had passed the test so no it was time for him to learn. He did his best to catch his breath and control his breathing while Yuen Bolo began to explain the first technique that he would teach Ryu.
“The shou ryu ken Is one of our more basic techniques. However, if used correctly, it could be one of our strongest techniques along with that. Now it is a powerful technique, do not misunderstand that. However, this technique is also a technique that does not cost much. IT is the cheapest technique that I can give you. It is a very powerful upper cut, more powerful than a regular upper cut simply because of the chakra that you put behind it. However, I believe that it would be easiest to show you what I mean by this techniques ability by simply showing you what I mean.”
With that Yueng Bolo got back to his feet. This time Ryu noticed that he really did not take long to get to his feet for someone his age. The man was really, still pretty close to the top of his game. That was truly unbelievable for Ryu. They walked to a dummy who looked like it had obviously had its share of demonstrations. The thing looked like it was about to fall apart. Yueng Bolo, however, did not look worried about that as he walked in front of it. Ryu quickly moved to a spot where he could see the move clearly. Ryu looked as Yuen Bolo flexed for a second before hitting an uppercut that nearly tore the dummy apart. The hit was unbelievable to say the least.
“The punch is basically about charging your hand with chakra before the shot to enhance the power of the hit. It is more about timing than it is about concentration. IT would be far easier for you to work on timing before you work on concentration. However that is just my recommendation. Now, why don’t you try your hand at this technique before we continue on to other techiniques.”
Ryu nodded as he attempted the technique. He concentrated his chakra into his arm, more specifically his hand as he attempted to do this. Now he worked hard to train his body, however actually training his chakra and his chakra control was something that he did not actually think to do. Now he realized that not doing that was a big mistake. He was having a lot of trouble forcing himself to bring up his chakra. It was taking a lot longer than it should have. However, it did happen and Ryu was able to focus it into the punch. Finally, he did pull back and let the punch go, sending his chakra through the object and multiplying the power of the technique that much more. He was surprised that he had gotten it on the first try. Yeueng Bolo was surprised about it as well.
“You did very well, very well indeed. Now, there are five more techniques that I must teach you before your training is done here. You are free to leave here and return at any point. The reason why I say this to you is that You really need to train you chakra control more than it already is. To train your body without training your mind is not an intelligent thing to do. It is so stupid that I do not even have a working Buddhist saying for it and that’s really bad. I recommend that you one way or another you train your chakra control. That is the easiest technique that you can learn here, the remaining ones are exponentially harder to do correctly. In battle you not just have to do a technique correctly, you must also do it quickly so you need for your chakra control to be unbelievably good. That is simply a warning to you.”
With that Yueng Bolo left the room. Ryu knew that the master was right. He also knew that he needed to get some work done, especially if he planned to continue his training. He felt his stomach rumble. He was hungry and really needed real food this time. He left the dojo, feeling the wind from the outside was somewhat chilly since if was at least ten degrees hotter in the dojo than it was outside. Ryu shivered a couple times before he got used to the cool wind. His sweaty uniform did not help the fact too much either as he looked around trying to get his bearing again. He instantly knew where he was, it was just weird for him since he really did not know this part of town all that well.
Ryu knew that there was a ramen stand not too far away, maybe a five to ten minute walk away. It had good food and that was all that really mattered. He was not light headed so that was a good thing for him. HE had went without food a lot longer than this but this was not a time to test his limits. HE needed strength to get through his training. Strength was something that he was requiring if he wanted to remain at one hundred percent. Ryu sighed. This was so troublesome for him. He really hated the idea of becoming a chuunin. That would simply put more and more trouble on his hands. Still he needed to get the job done. The more responsibility he had the harder his missions got. However along with all of that, the more freedom that he would have.
Ryu was so deep in thought that he did not even notice that he had already made it to the Ramen station. IT was a quiet point of the day but Ryu was pleasantly surprised that there was someone else at the stand. He took one look at the person’s garb and knew at once that the person was from another village. That was quite odd. Then again Ryu was also surprised that the person had some interesting tattoos that he could see the edge of on his back. Ryu thought the man was interesting so he sat down next to him. He took his time not to sit next to him and ordered a bowl of beef ramen. It was ony after he made his order that he turned to the man and offered a hello.

Akira was plesently surprised that there was a brave soul that was willing to talk to strangers in the village. He smiled as he turned towards the child. He almost did a double take but controlled himself at the last second. He was able to stifle it to a simple eyebrow raise. He lowered the eyebrow quite quickly to make sure that he did not look like he was being disrespectful. “Why hello, My name is Akira by the way. I take it you noticed that I am not from around here,” Akira stated with a smile. He was not particularly good at small talk but this kind would not be too hard to deal with, especially since this was the kid that he was looking for.

Ryu nodded. “Yea, not a lot of ninja in this village wear the kind of clothes that you do. Also you do not look like anyone that is from the village, grooming or otherwise. You really stick out like a sore thumb.” Ryu meant it like a joke. Hopefully the man would take it as a joke. Ryu was not good at light conversation. He looked over at the chef who was making his ramen and saw that he had a long way to go before it was done. He turned back to the man and remembered that he had stated his name. I’m Ryu, where are you from if you don’t mind me asking? Ryu was honestly interested.

Akira laughed silently. He thought it was funny the young teenager introducing himself to him when the fact is that he really already knew who he was. He already knew so much about young Ryu when he himself would keep so much hidden. What was the point of doing that? Rather than that he would answer all of the boys questions. Well all the ones that he would be able to answer without giving away his plan. “I’m actually from Hidden Moon, staying out of the village for a long amount of time trying to decide what is left to do with my life until the next exam.” That was pretty good, at least it answered the question.

Ryu was quite surprised that someone had actually vcome from that far away to come to Hidden Arts. He had noted that he was here awaiting the jonin exams. Ryu wondered why the gentleman would not simply stay in Hidden Moon to await the exams but did not want to seem rude while saying it. Still though, the man was seeming quite odd the more that Ryu knew him. Ryu was awoken from his thoughts by his order being placed infront of him. He saw that his complanion was also being served. That was good since it would give Ryu a few minutes to think.

((don't like other people doing actions for me but whatever works))

Akira thanked the chef for the meal and began to eat. The ramen was not bad, it was just simply different from what he was used to. No where near as much oil as in HIdden moon, which took from the normal taste. Still the food did have a unbelievable taste. Akira tried to finish the food slowly, to savor its flavor but it was just too good for Akira to take his time while eating. He could not hold back and finished it quite quickly, burning his mouth several times in the process. After finishing he waited for Ryu to finish his food. Finally he asked "So, I assume your training to be a ninja, how is that going?"

Ryu thought about the answer to that question hard but could think about no other answer other than the truth so he told the truth. He basically went through the problem of him training his body as hard as he could without thinking about training his mind. When he saw Akira's look he explained to Akira that the mind in Hidden Arts refers to chakra and chakra control. He had not thought about doing that and thus was paying for it. He told Akira about his need to learn other techniques outside of taijutsu that would help him learn chakra control. While he said this he began standing up and getting ready to go.

Akira nodded hearing all of this. He was worried that something like this would happen. The boy could learn quickly, that is the reason that Akira had chosen him, however, that did not mean that Akira could not help him get past the hump and then get himself in better shape than someone else in his village. Akira thought about it. Maybe he could become a trainer of sorts to the kids That would speed him to his goal by speeding them to their own. Now he knew that they would not be ready by this chuunin exam but they would be by the next.

Akira had caught Ryu by the arm before he could leave and offered to train him. This was quite a surprise for Ryu since he really did not know Akira outside of this little conversation that they were having during lunch. Ryu was actually about to decline the offer when he thought about it. Whatever it took to become stronger. THis training would obviously do more harm than good, that was for sure. Finally Ryu nodded, agreeing to the idea. They decided to meet here tomorrow to decide on the finalities of the agreement.
