Xeno took another go at the memory cards, two more times, earning a snowglobe and a stuffed jackalope. "So where are we going to dinner, Dad?" Jurvik took a turn as well, flipping over cards and earning first a set of candy canes, and then another stuffed animal. Hm. This was almost too easy. He handed Xeno the stuffed animal and let out a breath. "Uh...I hadn't thought that far ahead. I might ask Corben where he'd like to go. Have you got any preference?" Chries applauded Zalir and clapped the Litch on the back. "Very nice," he said. You're really quite good at this, y'know." He threw couple more rings at closer targets, earning a pair of copper earrings. They jingled pleasantly, but he tucked them away in his stocking.

Ved jogged to catch up to his new friends. He expected to find them looking over the plushies, pushing them aside to find ones that they wanted, but instead most of the activity seemed to center around the boxes of unwanted trinkets. Ved shrugged. Well...might as well? He dug through the box and grabbed a bundle of purple candy canes. Perfect! It took a little bit of doing, but Cal and Eidil were eventually able to find their old friend, the Chimera with the boxes. She looked over their new bug friend and nodded. "Oh yeah. They're fluffbugs. They're a Fey familiar. Very popular, very cute. And it looks like they're social." She pointed to the top of Cal's head.
Cal groaned. "Another one?"
"Yeah. Is that a problem? Because they are...super cute. If you don't want them--"
Cal shook her head. "If they're anything like a bee, I want them." She gently lifted both bugs down. They were enormous, but...pretty.
"Here." The Chimera handed her another potted plant. "It looks like we're giving those away this year."
Cal smiled. "Thanks. Happy Solstice." Kuni was not so easily run off. He wandered over the box that the kids were most interested in. Seriously? Oh, wait. There was candy in it. He rolled his eyes. "Somevun hand me a snowglobe," he said. One of the kids handed him one. Hey, it had a tree in it. Score.

With a snowball still over her third eye, Talya wandered over to the same box her friends were excited about. Everything--boas, candy, necklaces, bracelets, books--that the seniors hadn't been willing to put into a cannon had been shoved in here. She picked up a purple necklace. Hey, at least there were some good colors, right? The one thing that wasn't in the rejected trinkets was the one thing Lillian really wanted right now--something hot to drink. She excused herself from her friends to walk over to a stand that was giving out mugs of hot cocoa. She accepted one with a grateful smile and a whispered "thank you," then returned to her friends. "Anything interesting?" Evey shook her head. "Nothing we haven't seen before," she said. "But if you mean stuff we like, I think yes, that's safe to say." She'd been digging through the stuffed animal box, looking for something blue. Hey, a stuffed wolf that was blue! She tucked that in her bag and went back to the rejection box. She pulled out a mostly-intact lollipop and slipped that inside, too. "Hey...where did you get that, Lillian?"

There was a lot of peppermint bark in this box. Perigor took some up himself. "Do you think I could bring my birds with me? I mean, I'm not sure if I should leave them alone so soon after I got them." Emboldened by zeir last success, Zalir decided to try again, tossing the ring towards the farthest pole. Once again, it took multiple tries--zeir second try succeeded. This time, zey picked a green jelly. The rest of zeir tries earned zem some green cotton candy. "Thanks for encouraging me," Zalir whispered. "I'm...not really very good at....at physical things. But...thank you. Thank you so very much." Teo shook his head. "If you get a cage for them, they should be fine on their own. They're not like cats or dogs, they don't need to be taken care of all the time. I don't think my mom will let you bring your pets over for Solstice."
Someone tapped him on the shoulder and handed him something. It was...a book?! Seriously?! And it wasn't even in braille? He frowned.
But then Peri said something in a cheerful tone of voice. "Oh, cool! A Solstice Song! Total classic. Hey, we could read it to you. Betcha Ustule would be a killer Ghost of Solstice Past."
Teo turned his head towards Peri so that Peri could see his smile. "Thank you, Peri," he smiled. His nose hurt. It always hurt when he felt emotions like this.

Okay, so now she had a book to read, and some plushies to hug, and a new pet to spend time with...really, Wyrdda had everything she needed. But she wasn't feeling tired yet. Not quite, anyway. So she made her way over to an obstacle course for a couple runs. She succeeded in winning a gold bracelet, and in tiring herself out some. Nope, nope, redo. Mulligan. This time, Oriset tried harder, trying to move her gun along with the movement of the targets. She failed, however--well, okay, she did okay, but not much better than last time. Once again, more candy canes. Orange ones this time... Quilo decided to go for another book--he didn't want to only have seasonal reading. He asked the Demon behind the counter what a good choice for book would be, and they suggested one he'd heard some stuff about, the Goblet of Secrets. It was pretty thick...but it looked like fun. It took place at a school, just like the Academy! He tucked it away.

Midnightglow18 Caron smiled at Dia as they walked along, also not caring where they went. He was enjoying his encounter with Dia very much. "Yes the name of my people is nice." Caron rolled his eyes "Some daydreams are annoying though, I'm not a big elf fan, they are so full of themselves sometimes." he sighed. Caron stopped as well "Really wow, perhaps we can exchange notes, I don't know much about nightmare history and you don't know much about daydream history. Perhaps when we grow up we could work together to compile a more complete history of both Above and Bellow." Caron said with a grin "Maybe when we grow up we can do more to help both our people see the amazing history of all our races." Caron's head spun with all he and Dia might be able to do together. (Lol I didn't even think to look what house Dia was in eek that is rather perfect heart ) Dianthe laughed softly at his comment about the Elves from Above. "I guess those types are everywhere you go. The Chimera can be like that too, but some are really nice." She told him, taking note of the observation of the unknown race. "I think that's a lovely idea. I don't have a lot of notes yet, but I haven't been in the Academy for very long. I'd gladly share them with you, though." She started walking again, almost finished with her candy cane. They passed more booths and nooks, both for playing games and buying things. Wonderful smells filled the air and the fairy lights above them twinkled merrily. This was definitely her favorite time of the year, despite the cold. She wrapped her little brick hands around her warm hot chocolate mug and turned her face slightly back towards her new friend. "Well now that I know your favorite subject, what else should I know about you?" she asked, sipping her cocoa.

"The only pest I see is you." Sirius lazily snapped back at Des, too distracted by the adorable Flitterat to even check the others expression. Wow, now it was confirmed this man was the worst. He half hoped his Vespercat stole his breath at night. That'd end his suffering, and the suffering of all the poor Flitterats in the world.
"Oh look. You have a souvenir to remember just how wretched this evening was. Now can you toddle along?" He had finally noticed the trinket, grimacing at Des as if he had offended Sirius in some way. Well, he had. Severely. His hand moved up to hold the Flitterat, which was making grabby hands at Des. Received from Des! As Cherubi pulled Conan to the booth she was suddenly assaulted by a flying book. She was sure she saw purple hair in the distance and would remember to write down to visit Lyra and request she didn't throw books at her face. In the meantime, what was thrown at her looked to be a "adult" romance book. Glancing both ways, she slipped the book into the crevice of her arm. That was going on her bookshelf. Alice had been about to accept the offer when a book was placed in her lap. The person helping Lyra pass out books hadn't really been looking when they set down the adult book in Alice's lap. She squealed, looking at it and then back at Aphelion before placing her candy floss into his hand to examine her book.
"Look! A new bedtime story!" She lifted it to show it off before working on her house diligently, finishing rather soon. She had decked it out in the brightest candies, creating a lollipop walkway and decorating the side of windows with gumdrops. When she was finished she beamed, taking her candy back wiggling in her seat.
"It's your turn! When we're done we should take them home before we do anything else. I don't want to break them before daddy sees... you can come to my home!" Kadali cheered quietly as Leif played, flapping her wings erratically whenever he took a chance at tossing it. When he won the plant she beamed, tail wiggling back and forth as she made a move to give a celebratory hug. Instead, a beanbag was placed in her hands. Wow, these people were super eager to see people play their game!
"Alright!" She squeaked, stepping back and sticking her tongue out in concentration. Okay.... slowly..... gently..... WOOHOO. She let out a loud yelp of delight when the bag fell right into the hole, turning around to the runner of the booth and bouncing on her heels as she excitedly waited for her prize. Her eyes lit up as they came over with a snow globe, hands tentatively holding it as if it was the holy grail itself. She spun to view Leif, raising her prize for all to see.
"Oh! I'm going to put this right beside my bed! Baum will be so jealous!" Lace practically jumped when Samhain called out to another Nightmare, nervously stepping backward before he both returned with a new familiar and a freshling. Her eyes drew down to the child, face lighting into a smile as she bent over to better view them.
"Oh, hello~ I'm Lace, pleasure to meet you!" Chloe was surprised when she was handed a cup of cocoa, offering a gentle nod towards the person before taking a sip, wincing as the heat scorched her mouth. Well, that was her own fault! She should have been more careful! Ella seemed to be lucky this event as, again, another plushie was handed to her. She beamed, plucking the plushie up and hugging it close to her body.

Taylor clung to the side of the wall as they meandered about, touching small trinkets here and there before shying back when others would notice them. Their ears flicked with each loud sound they heard, nails rubbing against one another in a nervous habit. They weren't sure why they were here, really, other than hearing that familiars were lurking about. They were considering just fleeing instead of hunting for a new pet, but they were interrupted by a booth attendant shoving a stocking full of sweets into their hands. Alarmed, Taylor offered a quiet thank you before pushing themselves back against the wall, ears flat against their head.

Nimue had hidden themselves away towards a candy booth. They had found a bench and decided to not only sit on it, but also pull their legs up and wrap their tail firmly around their body. Despite their attempts to hide, Nimue was painfully obvious to anyone nearby. They stuck out, especially amongst a crowd of cheerful Nightmares and Daydreams. Of course, they didn't realize it, convinced the hair and tail was enough to hide them in a sea of laughter and movement. So, when someone approached with candy and a stocking they were audible surprised, letting out a loud gasp and snatching the stocking before curling back up in a ball, tentatively peeking inside the stocking. It seemed the candycanes inside pleased them as they pulled out a single cane, unwrapping it and slipping it under hair where one would assume their mouth was.

Dianthe gave Caron a warm look before answering. "About you, silly! As in, what else should I know about Caron." They approached a cozy little nook with heat lamps and cushioned benches, which she gladly took a seat on, her back to the nearest heater.

Caron thought a moment, "I like to read, and write a little. I'm interested in perhaps studying archaeology as a second major or hobby, when I get older. So maybe I can discover new things, we didn't know about the Above and Bellow. Discover the mysteries, lost in time." Caron said with a grin. "I also like flying toys." He said with a grin "What about you??"

A little late to the party Arcadia stepped into the main hall, these events were allways alot of fun, she enjoyed nightmare watching and with the introduction of daydreams she was extra interested! she walked up to the both saying; 'Free trinkets, please take one' and fingered the books, looking at each cover, She grabbed a Stocking to hang on her bedpost. And although incredibly tempted by the feather boas she couldn't quite resist the 'taken by the chimera book' Such a sucker for a romance story! At the next booth there was a tombola on, it never hurt to buy a ticket or two, she rummaged in the bucket and matched her first number, the Nightmare handed her a very happy looking Plushie: Where was her little buddy Laurel? It was almost tradition to give him a plushie at events like these!

"I guess but it doesn't sound as good," Sprout chuckled, leaning ever the slightest into Verve as the Chimera dragged them around the floor in search of prizes. The junior nodded a little, moving with the motions. "Flying and divination for sure," the green eared Fallen chirped. "I don't know about any of the others, they sound kinda boring."
They glanced around, folding their arms loosely. "Maybe setting things on fire would be kinda fun." This Solstice celebration needed some more festivities for sure.

Dante smiled at the vendor and looked over the bracelet he'd won and bounced in excitement. Finally, he had a gift for Ivy! The young demon placed the bracelet into his stocking and shifted, looking up at the two mutants that were with him. He was a little sad that his mama, papa and mommy couldn't come out with him, but he was still glad to be with Kyoko and Shinobu. Dante looked at the bigger demon and the Grimm and smiled, asking what they should do next, and what sort of goodies they both won, Shinobu signed to the little demon that he had won a necklace that he intended to give as a gift to his crush when he next saw her and the mutant blushed, tiny wings flapping a bit. Shinobu bent down and picked up Dante, resting the little demon on his shoulders with a wider grin. He turned to Kyoko, looking at the Grimm with mismatched eyes as he awaited her answer as well. Kyoko laughed softly, holding up a bunch of candy canes before handing one to Dante and Shinobu. "I got some candy so far. Shall we keep going and see what other prizes we can win?" Her two tails wagged excitedly when the two demons nodded and she lead the way to other vendors.
