Lancaeriel nodded. "And I suppose there is also the fact that those of you who are from Gaia have more dietary needs than we elves," she added with the air of one who had spoken to someone knowledgeable on the subject - probably one or both of the nekos. "Our bodies can derive the nutrients we need to stay healthy from just about anything we eat ... but my understanding is that you need some very specific foods, or food types at least."
They were momentarily interrupted when their waiter returned with their drinks and then left again.
"Which reminds me," she added as an afterthought, her brow furrowing slightly, "we may need to speak with Kyrie about such matters."

"We will?" Miyuki asked.
She thought they had been doing well, despite the fact they couldn't always eat from exactly the right food groups, but many Lancaeriel had noticed something. Miyuki had forgotten how hard it was to get the right nutrient while traveling.

Lancaeriel nodded and picked up her glass of wine.
"It's been a while since we've had fruit of any sort," she said softly, "and we're no longer in a climate where they will grow easily, at least not those with which I'm familiar. So if they don't have something else here with the same value as fruit for you, it could be unsafe for you and the others to remain here long."
She sipped her wine, fully aware of how Wren and Andarien suddenly looked anxious.
"But drinks like mead and cider help, don't they?" Andarien protested.
"To a degree, yes," Lancaeriel nodded again, setting her glass down once more. "But only to a degree."

"I think someone had once said fresh fruit and dark greens are best," Miyuki murmured thoughtfully.
Though she didn't know who, maybe it was Shiro, or maybe it was her mother during those times she didn't want to eat her veggies.
"Then I should really make sure those preservation runes are working then, we're supposed to head North eventually aren't we?"
There wouldn't be any of those sort of things there.

Lancaeriel nodded again. "Yes. I believe we are further south than we were when we found the child, and had we not been detoured here, I think we were already quite far north."
"Almost to one of the northernmost countries," Wren confirmed. "I don't know where we're going to go from here, though."
Would it be worth backtracking? They would have to cover that land again anyways when they returned to Caras Galadhon, so in a way they might as well just continue east, oughtn't they?
Besides, who knew how long they were even going to be here?

"I guess we won't find out until we're ready to leave and who knows when that'll be," Miyuki admitted.
If they were that far north, there might not be enough plant life for them to gather for the trip. Should that be the case, they would have to backtrack anyways.

"Well, tomorrow we can ask Kyrie where exactly we are, and how far north," Lancaeriel smiled. "I must be honest, at this point I'm frankly too tired to think much more on it."
"Maybe if she doesn't come here in the morning, some of us should find our way back to the clinic," Wren suggested. "That way we can also check up on Daeron and Iorlas and the child."

"Sounds like a plan," Miyuki nodded before trying to bite back a yawn.
All she needed a food and then she could sleep.

Soon afterwards their food arrived, and they were able to enjoy a delicious meal. By the time they finished, even Andarien was having trouble keeping his eyes open, and all four of them headed off for a well-earned rest.
Despite the general lack of sleep that most of the group had experienced, Wren found that she had slept quite well during the night, and she woke rather early, far earlier than she would have expected. Rather than risking waking others, she headed to the dining room for some breakfast and managed to order some food by simply pointing at pictures on the menu.
Still, she did hope that someone would join her. As she waited for her food, she looked around the dining room, twirling a lock of her blond curls around her fingers.

Miyuki also woke early, but that was more out of habit than anything else. She wasn't quite sure if she was awake enough to face the day, but since she was up, there was no point in going back to sleep.
So she did what she would normally do, get up, and get ready for the day. Eventually she made her way down to the dining area and was happy to see someone was already up.

Wren's expression brightened when she saw Miyuki, and she waved her over, hoping that the young kitsune would join her for breakfast.
"Good morning," she said brightly. "I hope I didn't wake you when I left the room earlier."
She had tried her best to be quiet, and, considering she was elven kind, had probably quite succeeded. Still, it was a worry she had.

Miyuki shook her head as she took a seat beside Wren.
"Force of habit to get up this early," she admitted, "And there didn't seem much point in going back to sleep."
Especially since she was already up.

Wren chuckled softly. "Pity we can't all sleep like Lancaeriel," she grinned. "Sometimes I wonder if that woman wouldn't sleep through a fight if she were tired enough."
The waiter, a different one from the night before, appeared just then, bringing Wren's meal and a menu for Miyuki.
"Just point at the pictures to order, that's what I did," Wren grinned as she dug into her scrambled eggs and bacon.

Miyuki smiled and nodded at the waiter before thanking Wren for the advice. It was a good thing someone had taken time out to make pictures of some of the food, otherwise it might have been a bit hard to figure out what to eat.
Though that did mean she couldn't mix and match if she wanted to.
Like Wren earlier, Miyuki managed to let her choices be known through the pictures, and once her order was taken, she turned her attention back to Wren.
"So what are the plans for today?"

Wren focused on her own meal while Miyuki was ordering, and when Miyuki finished and asked her question she turned her attention back to her cousin.
"Well," she mused, "I suppose that depends on who wants to do what, and how available Andarien is. I mean, only he and Iorlas know the language here, and Iorlas is kind of busy. Personally, I'm hoping to explore the town a bit. I know Kyrie said we shouldn't go out without someone who knows the language, but ... I can't stay in one place for long, not indoors."
She shrugged. "Besides, I have nothing to do in here."
She took a moment to think about what the others might have planned.
"Knowing Shiro, he's going to try find a way to learn the language, even if Andarien isn't available to help him," she thought aloud, "and Kaito will probably get dragged into it. Lancaeriel ... well, who knows what she'll end up doing, she's pretty unpredictable. Andarien will probably either work on that new design of his or else help out some people who want to leave the inn - which I hope he's willing to do, personally. As for your parents ..."
She shrugged again. "Knowing your father, he'll probably be quite happy to stay in bed today and get rid of the rest of his airsickness, and if that's his plans your mother probably won't go too far. At least, that's my guess."
