Ganymede took a few moments to stand there and feel pleased with himself as Benitoite scampered away, then he decided to rush over to where Sessrumnir had just caught Pasiphae, figuring it'd be nice to hang around some muscle for a while.

Curiously -- worriedly -- he looked around for Valhalla, cursing when he realized, too late, that they'd gotten separated.

"So what do you think we should do now?" he wondered, glancing between Pasiphae and Sessrumnir. "Attack them while they're busy regrouping? Get the jump on them? Or just let them go? You think they'll leave now that we've gotten that thing?"

Somehow, he didn't think so.

He was weak, he was pathetic. While others continued to fight off the forces of Chaos he lay stunned and sleeping among the rubble where he had fallen behind the golden barrier. His sleep was filled with horrors, was it the smoke of Ares earlier attack? Or was it simply the reality around him slipping in between his closed eyes as the cries of dying and wounded continued to ring on. Again and again he saw faces screaming. Civilians turned to dust, the monster. Gunn was falling. Then it was Chronos and Flora. Suddenly his friends Elzo and Serenade, his powers doing nothing to stop their deaths.

And suddenly he was awake gasping for air eyes wide as he watched the battle fall to a still.

It was done... and had done nothing more then probably get in Gunn's way the whole time.

"Gunn? Flora? Themis?" He rammbled the names of the few Senhi he knew personally hopping someone would fill in the gap he was missing of the battle.

Sailor Leto took her place at Fluorite's side to defend the new Dark Mirror Senshi who would be much more vulnerable than the two of them. She looked at the other girl out of the corner of her eye as she stood beside her. They had never met before, so she figured now was a good a time as any to introduce herself.

"Sailor Leto," was all she said to the purple haired girl.

She may have been a complete stranger, but right now when the lives of the new Dark Mirror Senshi and so many others of Chaos were at stake, it didn't matter.

She caught a quick glimpse of Scylla in the distance, their eyes meeting for a split second before she looked away.

Pasiphae landed with a thump into Sessrumnir's arms, momentarily confused why she hadn't smacked into the rainbow road. Then, there was the familiar, teasing voice, and she responded in kind, though her voice was softer as she regained her footing, "Unfortunately not... but thank you for catching me."

She then turned to Ganymede, biting her lip as she pondered his question. What SHOULD they do? She suggested what sounded best to her... even though it had nothing to do with the forces of Chaos, "Maybe we should go and help the others who are wounded... or any that are still fighting? Lots of Senshi and Knights could probably use our help..."

He hadn't scampered away, he was following orders. Unlike the senshi who lacked in discipline and didn't have a command set up his side did. He fell back behind Fluorite and the General King. Silently he nodded his head to Fluorite's words. They wouldn't let the newly awakened senshi of the dark mirror fall. They were to be protected as were the newer members of the Negaverse.

"This isn't good..." He whispered to himself, the grip on his paintbrush tightened as his fingers hidden inside his gloves went white. He was gripping so hard to stop the shaking and twitching they would otherwise be doing. His nerves were acting up right now, just like at the public pool. Though he felt more comfort than he had then. Here there were many more members of the Negaverse around and a clear cut duty to fulfill.

Any relief of victory, or sorrow of defeat, came far too soon. The forces of Order and Chaos alike did not know it -- or, perhaps, the ones who had recovered its memories had some vague awareness of it -- but this Great Youma had one more trick up its sleeve.

It started with a small leaching of color in the road around its enormous corpse. At first, it seemed like just a trick of the light, or maybe a small hallucination brought about by exhaustion. But just like its presence among the stars had grown during its arrival, so too did the bleaching of the piece of the Surrounding on which it was lying. All color drained from it until it was only faded strips of gray... and then it darkened, going a black pitcher than even the sky above or the youma itself. Even the lights in the windows of distant Outposts began to wink out, one by one.

The flowing, swirling surge of power was tangible by everyone, as the energy of the Surrounding was pulled up and away, into the body of the beast. And there was no stopping it. It wrapped around the Great One, forming bone and muscle anew; thicker, bigger, stronger than before.

It rose again. One eye glowed with rage, and the other eye socket had an eerie light set in it, casting a ghostly gaze that seeked revenge on those who dared to harm it and its beloved allies.

One great foreleg stomped at the ground, releasing a great pulse of corrupted energy. The defenders of Order would find themselves momentarily knocked back, but those of Chaos felt no such damage. Instead they felt renewed. Recharged.

Stronger than ever... and hungry for destruction.

Quote:
The Great One has used the energy of the Surrounding to revive itself... and has also lent some of that energy to all members of the Negaverse and the Dark Mirror Court. Charged so with Chaotic power, they have each had their strength, speed and endurance greatly increased. In addition the more malicious parts of their personality have been enhanced -- they are still self-aware, but they are acting much more "evil" than they would be otherwise. Think of it as a mild version of the berserker rage from before!

Senshi and Knights can roll a D20 per stage to attack. The forces of Chaos do not need to deflect... the Great One can take care of itself.

Zero Dream

“They won’t take you Alunite…” He said quietly, firmly. “They will not take any of us, they will need to go through me first. Form up, strongest on the outside of the formation, weakest in the middle, Ranged attacks flanked by close arms…spread the orders….”

He grinned behind his mask, still standing before the formation of the Dark Kingdom.

Like he said, it was not over, not yet.

Valhalla had pulled Naica off to the side to at least stay out of the way and out of danger... for the most part... and was now hurrying back to the fray, stopping to look around for his other teammates. They'd gotten separated, but at least the others had more or less stayed together. Ganymede seemed to be heading over to some guy holding Pasiphae, and he quickly made his way over as well.

"Don't get cocky, we've not won yet!" he said to those around him, not liking how everyone was getting complacent now that the youma might have been defeated. He had a feeling that this wasn't over....

"Don't get cocky? That's all the advice you have?" Sessrumnir nearly scoffed at the page that made his way over to him. "Ah, Babydoll, good of you to join us," Sessrumnir winked at Ganymede. Eh, he was too young for him, but it wasn't like he was doing anything bad. Jeez... he could mess around if he wanted. No harm no foul.

"We gonna get rid of these nega guys, or are we gonna let the Zodiac people do that? They seem a little preoccupied, uh... doing who knows what..." He didn't see them doing anything besides fighting off a single negaverse officer, but whatever. Gotta protect a princess or something like that. That's what they'd been yelling, at least.

And then the big monster rose up and Valhalla couldn't help but scowl and say "Told you so." Douche.

Wolframite watched and more and more blood spilled to each strike of his blade. These senshi were week and new, and he could kill them now before they became something more. In this battle, he felt he could chop them to pieces at Chronos' feet like finely minced cubes and strike the Princess down to add to the collect. However, the roar of The Great One falling caught his attention as he was pulled in his weapon for another strike. It had fallen. With all their efforts and preparation, for all the power they gave it, it was gone. He had to feel that they had gone this far. They were right at the doorstep of winning and had already broken down the many walls. All they had to do was keep pressing onward and to finish this battle once and for all.

But a order was barked by his commanding officer, and he froze in indecision. He wanted to keep going, and he hissed as Zinkenite only called out for them to move back. No! Why were they moving back now? They would be pressing on and on until they were destroyed. They were weak from the Great One's assault. Why wouldn't they take that to their advantage and move in? Still, he was being called back to a retreat and he knew that if he remained, he would be fighting the entire army on his own.

Growing, he started to step back, glaring at Avalon. Her apple really was useless and so was she. To think Tate bothered with someone like her. And the other fresh senshi around her made him just sick. He could have ripped them apart here and now, but he watched as more of the Negaverse pulled back, and he was forced to do the same. "Have fun bleeding for your Princess! It won't be the last time." He turned on his heel and marched off, keeping his weapon in hand in case anyone should be so stupid to attack.

Beejoux
Her fingers were slick with blood when she drew them back from the general, and she had to swollow before looking back down at him. She knew first aid, had taken the courses in school, but that was in a controlled setting and there'd been no real blood, no real pain, and certainly no real chance of the person dying. But this was the real world(Ha! Irony), and she didn't have time to second guess or hesitate, not if she really wanted to help him.

She was looking him over, searching for the source of the blood, when his hand shot up to grab her arm, startling a gasp from her. It had startled her, but she didn't fight it when he pulled her down close enough to hear his rasping whispers. "Yes," she answered immediately, tugging her arm from of his grip. "Yes, I'm here to help. Just lay still, you're bleeding really bad." From everywhere, what the ********. She would have helped anyways, but even near death there was a command to that battered voice that was hard to resist.

Trying to ignore the drying blood smeared along her arm she set to work locating wounds. All the while tearing long strips of fabric from the tattered cape beneath him. Some pieces were balled up and pressed to various deep cuts and lacerations, while others were used to tie those pieces in place. She had to staunch the bleeding, that was first and foremost, only after that couldn't she look for other less obvious injuries and consider moving him. It was luck that put them on the edge of the battle and not at it's heart, but she still needed to work quickly. The screams of the skeletal beast above them resonated in her very bones. They were losing, no, they had lost, but she couldn't leave the man beside her.

"It's dead, they'd slayed it." She hissed past gritted teeth as she watched the thing fall to pieces, hands pressed against a particularly bad slice along his clavicle.

Hematite let go of her arm and let his fall back to the ground again to bleed a handprint into the dirt. He didn't speak again till she had staunched a few of the nastier injuries. His vision was blurred and hazy, all he saw was a moving shape in black clothing and sensed a weak but chaotic aura. He didn't have much more to go off of than that. But he wanted to know. When he was this disoriented he was awfully mellow. "...Your name?"

"Trapped," he grunted in reply to her last comment, with a defeated undertone that made it clear to Navi they'd just lost their ticket out of this hellhole.

A grunt came in response to Magellan tripping on the body.

Camelot felt someone grabbing on to him, and he moaned softly in response. Not dead, it seemed. Or just making strange sounds as air left his lungs. But no, he was, in fact, alive. Exhausted and likely concussed, but alive.

Not helpfully so, of course. He hung like a ragdoll as Magellan tried to lug him around. His armor made him heavier than his large but fairly trim frame indicated. It was good, then, that they were all given boosts in power or he would have been one giant pain in the butt.

"I'm alright," he murmured softly, which was clearly inaccurate but he felt compelled to say it as any true fighter of evil would in his place. He was sure, all over the battle field, people in similar positions were saying the exact same thing. If he had more energy, he would be able to walk on his own, but he needed the help Magellan and Polaris could provide to support him.

"Ughh... gruuh..." he said prophetically, then tried again with a little more success, "be careful."

The fight wasn't over, not as long as the Negaverse still had strength in them to fight back. He knew they would not give up, and they didn't need a dragon to do terrible, deadly damage.

And then it rose.

Camelot looked over his shoulder, his heart stopping in his chest as he saw the beast getting back to its feet. All the color ran from his face, and for a long moment he didn't even draw a breath.

At length, though, his feet steadied under him and he supported his own weight. Because battle called to him. Because this enemy, this destiny, was not defeated or yet met. He looked at Polaris and Magellan, an apology in his eyes. But he said nothing.

What was there to say?

Sugilite fell backwards in an attempt to avoid abrupt craniofacial surgery, dragging the other girl back with her. She twisted, trying to push herself over in midair, so that she'd land on top. The shouts of general Fluorite didn't reach her ears, as they were already ringing with the screams of her enemy and the final roar of the Great Youma as it sunk down and fell still. And an internal ringing, coming up from inside her head, as it bounced off the road.

Fighting for breath, part of her mind nevertheless scolded the other girl for her language. She would have given voice to the complaints, and added in a bit more about how she was going to throttle the screeching girl, if her mouth wasn't so busy trying to bite one of the enraged page's hands. There were no punches, instead she hung on, gripping tighter and tighter, nails trying to break through cloth, and scraping on any bit of skin they could. Her feet still kicked out, making full use of the pointy heels. She would be damned if she let this berserk, fresh faced, foul mouthed little s**t got the best of the exchange.

MOTHER EFFER.

Scylla was SO glad she had saved her best for last. Not far from the former corpse of the newly risen Great Youma, the Senshi of the Kraken gave a shriek not unlike a startled little girl and released her attack. "Scylla's Hunger!"

And then she scooted for cover.

Yes. That was pretty much all that Themis had to say at the moment. About pretty much everything.

They'd killed it. They'd killed it. Game over, go home.

Except now.

Son of a ******** b***h.

Even gentled-hearted protectors had their limit, really. Themis' had just lost it.

"THEMIS. NOISE. SHIELD."

The shield had just only barely formed that it was chucked at the great youma with all the strength he could muster.

Themis does 22 damage.
