When he felt a little better, when he could move without feeling like crying, Roch shoved himself to his feet and headed straight for the closed mouth on the wall. "Let me back in!" he bellowed, slamming his fist onto the wall. "I want to hit that b***h in the throat again!! Let me back in!"
Then he fell back, running a hand over his face and looking around. "Freya isn't here... and she isn't in there..." Not only had they not saved Barth, they had lost more people.
"Jackdammit."

Well that....wasn't very effective. The frost demon could feel her hands grow a little warmer from the loss of her FEAR, but that was insignificant. Edel stopped short of ringing the bell again. Should she continue ringing the bell? After that little incident, the frost demon was a little more mindful about getting their approval over certain things. The ghoul didn't know how long she could continue to use the bell though, except that it was taking her FEAR to use.
“Roch.... ”Edel was a little upset to see Roch react the way he did. He wasn't in any shape to do much now, and all of them were recovering from that previous incident. She couldn't quite share that pain – what they'd been through was different, but by no means less dreadful.
The ghoul looked at the silver bell and then to Lattice – Lizzy and Vieve weren't here yet, but she could tell her first. “I got it from the boogeyman....while the three of you went inside. And I told him about what happened to us.....and otherthingsthatwouldhavebeenuseful” the last phase was a little slurred, she didn't want to sound indignant about the fact that she had done that, or that they should have done that.
“His advice was to avoid those false reapers, as far as possible.”Her voiced dropped to a whisper, fully aware that there were those in the room who had just encountered them and suffered defeat. She wasn't lying about that – though it might seem less credible since that was what she had championed earlier. “And....that there was strength in numbers....” Edel wasn't sure why she was saying all this now, it all seemed so useless. Perhaps it was just that obligation for her to get that out.

Roch turned, looking--not at Edel, but at the bell she was holding. "Sound," he said quietly. "Healing with sound... Dammit, if I was stronger--if I--" He turned, his shoulders hunched as he kept his back to them. He regretted so much right now. He'd always sworn to not regret anything--
But he did.
He took a deep, shuddering breath, he dropped down to the ground, sitting there, his knees bent in front of him, his elbows resting on his knees. He didn't even bother to talk to Moure.

Lattice listened to the tale that Herryk told about what happened and her heart fell. The large boil's pain was evident in more ways than one and when he came to her for comfort burying his face at her stomach he essentially got it, after she stood there at a loss for a moment she gently pet his hair with the palm of her hand while she murmured to him quietly, "It is okay Herryk, it is okay. Hope is not lost, we will get them back."
She rested her hands on Herryk's head for the moment and let him cling to her as long as he needed. He was a dear friend and obviously needed someone.
The Engraver looked around as others came in and she quietly listened to Edel and when the bell came out and chimed she froze as her mind whirled a bit and her body gave a small tremble her despite the healing relief it gave there was an old mental trauma reawakening within Lattice each time it was used.
"It's alright Edel. You forgot, not selfish at all," she said softly not really minding she had neglected to pour out this information out on her. She resumed petting Herryk's hair, "I have some information for you Edel. You have a choice that you need to make and you need to make it soon - it might help the others..."
It might not. Lattice wasn't sure how this could help anyone.
"Back at the room two statues appeared after you left, they said we had to make a choice and it is one that needs to be made on our own. We can walk the beaten path or we can create a new path, it is really up to you." Lattice quietly said mostly to Edel. The ghoul didn't know if others had the same thing happening or not.

At a familiar groan, Herryk lifted his head from Lattice's stomach. Christof? His eyebrows lifted as he glanced around the room in search of Barth and Calder. Immediately his face fell as he realized Christof was alone and looking.. distraught. In pieces, literally and figuratively.
With his own distressed groan, Herryk once more buried his face against Lattice's stomach. His arms tightened around her waist. The soothing brush of her hand against his hair gave him comfort. He had failed Freya, yes, but Herryk couldn't help but feel as if he'd failed his team as well. His friends.
"How?" The question was barely whispered against Lattice. "How will we get them back?" It seemed impossible.

"If you give up then we really failed them," This was said not just for Herryk but the others around her especially Christof. She continued to gently pet Herryk's hair for a moment, "You all saved us once and I have no doubt that it could happen again we just...We need to keep moving. Keep going. If we give up then...We cannot help anyone."
She realized how disheartening it was when people were captured or otherwise held up elsewhere but Lattice wasn't going to just give up either.
Quietly she moved to brush her fingertips against the sides of Herryk's face, "Come now. Freya wouldn't give up. She'd be doing everything and anything that is possible."

Herryk knew Lattice was right. She was right about everything. The one truth that struck home the hardest, though, was the bit about Freya. Herryk was sitting here feeling sorry for himself, feeling lost... and Freya was wherever she was -- not feeling sorry for herself, no, but likely exhibiting that spitfire spark that she had, the same spark that he admired about her.
"Lattice is right," Herryk sighed, exhaling into the cloth that covered Lattice's stomach. "Lattice is right."

She ran her thumbs over his cheeks, "I don't know how we'll do it but we will help them, all of us. As Edel said there is strength in numbers. We must do whatever is possible. I will do what I can to help, she saved me."
It was least she could do.
Lattice wasn't sure what else to say or do so she just quietly resumed petting the Draugr's dark hair with quietly until he was ready to stand on his own not that she minded that he was seeking her for comfort there was a wonderful feeling from that fact. "I have no plan of action myself but maybe someone else has one? We cannot keep standing around and hoping for a miracle. We must help ourselves before we help others."
Despite the need to hurry forward they certainly couldn't unless they had a direction to go.

Herryk grunted before rocking back on his heels, bracing his hands on Lattice's hips. He turned his gaze upward to peer at her face, blue eyes taking in her expression. He was so lucky to have her as his friend. With a sigh he rose to his feet.
"Freya was so determined when Lattice was in trouble." A half-smile tilted his lips as he ran his gaze over her face. Carefully clasping his hands on her shoulders, he pressed a brief kiss to the engraver's forehead before pulling away.
"Losing hope will do nothing," he murmured softly, squeezing her shoulders before dropping his hands to his side. "Lattice is very wise. Herryk just does not know what to do, but doing nothing is.. so frustrating."

Lattice smiled lightly as she leaned into the kiss on her forehead gladly. She enjoyed the affections all her friends placed on her it was so different from how she grew up where she got no affection other than from her Sister. The Engraver nodded a bit at Herryk's words.
"We should be just as determined if not more so," Lattice replied softly, "we have so much at stake and probably not much time."
Tilting her head to look around. What were their options?
"That is why we need to figure out what to do next even if it means opening random doors just to see if we can find anything." She wasn't sure what to do honestly she was at a loss.

Herryk glanced around the room. Lattice had a point, but he didn't know if opening random doors would be of much help. Rubbing his hand over his mouth, Herryk glanced at the door they'd exited from. That room had been the cause of so much grief and despair that Herryk didn't want to go back, but...
"Herryk is going to go back to the room he came from.. just to.. just to look around and see if anyone is there." It was highly unlikely that he would find anything, but sitting around here in the hub only made him feel frustrated and anxious.
"Thank you Lattice. For everything."

"I am going to head back too," she said softly. She may not have done everything she'd meant to do but she did a good portion of it.
She moved toward Herryk and quietly placed a hand on his arm a final act of comfort before they would part ways again, "You are welcome and thank you as well for your efforts...Stay alive and do your best for Freya and everyone. We will get them back."
With that she released his arm paused a moment, "If you both do not come back I will be...very cross at them for taking you both away from me. They will fear me by the time I am through with them."
Then she padded out of the Hub to her own room. There was no option to not come back in her eyes.

As Edel spoked to the students in their collective room, Moure found himself nodding along slightly. At her point of maybe launching another rescue mission, Moure face felll slightly as he surveyed the amount of people they had with them. There wouldn't be enough...Would there be? And last time, the Soul Harvester had helped them too...They wouldn't have that advantage this time.
As he looked around the room, though, the thought occured to Moure that he might've been the only one in here who had actually made it into the tent during the rescue mission to save Edel's team. He processed her question, but decided to wait for a moment as it looked like she was going to do something else.
Edel's bell sung out across the room, and Moure could feel it's strength stirring into the students around him. It as a peculiar feeling though, to be on the outside, as the fear simply passed around him. After all, he was still in good condition from before the rescue.
In any case, Moure looked back to Edel and gave a slight nod. "We did have a lot of people, but a lot of them got taken out within a few moments of battle by that guy from the tent. There was at least...four, maybe five teams out there." He'd seen Riyo out on the field, along with a white horse and Christof, his own team, and Bul's team too... Meaning there had to have been a good amount of people. Moure gave a slight head shake to clear it, then continued. "How we got there might've been the hardest part, really. I don't know if you could've seen Her from the tent, but there was a woman called the Soul Harvester helping us. She's the one who pulled the cover off the tent. She's also the person who found my team and opened a portal to the battlefield, after asking us if we would help Her save our friends, who turned out to be your team. I went through, and there was the field. There were some traps hear the beginning that fired lasers or something, followed by the run to the other side of the yard while being aimed at by false-reapers, then there was a trap portion we had to undo to save the Soul Harvester, and then if we could make our way through the fake-reaper ranks and past those last traps, we'd get inside the tent." Moure finished the basic explanation of what had happened while Edel had been captured, pausing for a moment before adding, "Unless they've changed the set-up, that's probably what the field would look like still."
Moure gave a nod as he finished his reported, looking at Edel with some worry. The bell looked like it might've hurt her a bit. "Are you alright?" He asked, concern in his voice. If she needed to be healed, Moure wouldn't hesitate to return the pill from before.

[Entering from room although lets pretend she had always been here. (fOwO)f]
Lizzy had been very quiet; she wasn't sure how to deal with an upset Christof or an upset Herryk or even an upset Roch, seeing how she did not know them well. After a while, she simply retreated to a corner and stood there - albeit awkwardly - as she watched her schoolmates; from what she could infer, they had gone off to try to rescue Barth, but had failed... Causing even more heartache seeing how the first time was already pretty upsetting.
Ugh... Those humans... If they had never showed up, none of this would have happened!
